“What?!” you shouted. He was not joking. “How did this happen? He was okay before…” your eyes began to search his for an answer but he was a blank slate. *No! This can’t be happening.* Even though you had not known Jim for that long you felt close to him. You felt as if your own grandfather had collapsed. You released Kang San’s hand and spun around to Hero.

“What?” Hero said taking a small step back.

“Please, please,” You begged not being able to say more than that. Your eyes were glistening from tears that had not yet fallen. “Can you please try to be descent and help me this once.” You looked away from Hero for a second then looked back at him with some of the tears falling. You bit your lip and looked down. *Does she really care this much about some guy?*

Hero breathed heavily, “Sure.” You felt as if your breath had caught in your lungs.

“Really?” you asked grabbing Hero’s arm. He looked down at you as you beamed at him with happiness.

“Yes.” Hero nodded.

You smiled as tears fell, “Thank you.” You wiped the tears away and quickly turned to Min Ji’s father, “Where is he?” He nodded and started to lead you to Jim. You could tell he was just as worried as you were, by the quickening of his pace. When you got to where Jim was, the alley you had stayed your one night of freedom, there was a huge crowd of people around Jim. The group parted when they saw Min Ji’s father, and no spoke, except for the occasional whisper of worried ladies. You let out a small breath when you saw Jim. He was lying on the ground not moving.

“Okay, we need a few people to help carry him,” you instructed. A few men stepped forward including Min Ji’s father. “Lift him carefully and follow me,” you shouted as you turned and headed towards Hero’s car, Hero following closely behind you, along with Min Ji and Kang San, who was holding the back of your shirt. People in the market separated and gave sympathetic glances towards the man being carried. Another man joined in and helped lift him so he was more evenly balanced. When you got to the car, you realized less people could fit in it then you had originally thought. Hero opened the door and let them set Jim into the back seat of the car.

Min Ji’s father stepped up to you, “May I go with?” you looked at the car and nodded.

Hero forcefully grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him, “My car is not meant for…” You elbowed him in the stomach hard, not letting him finish his sentence. You opened the front seat door to let Min Ji’s father in. You ran around the car to the driver’s side and got into the back seat with Jim. You let Jim lay on your lap as he struggled to take each breath. Hero got into the front seat and started to drive. After hero was on the main road, he looked into the rear view mirror at you. You were looking at Jim incredibly concerned, occasionally patting his face lightly trying to get him to wake up. You looked as if you may begin to cry any second, so unconsciously Hero began to speed up, not wanting to see you make that face anymore.
