MERRY CHRISTMAS!; Hot Chocolate

"It's the 24th!" I cheered, slightly shaking Daehyun's shoulder to wake him up.

"It's still too early" he said, gently tugging at my pajama sleeve. He peaked his head out of his blanket, still in his red reindeer pajamas. I couldn't help but smile as he slowly blinked his sleepiness away.

"Morning." I smiled, sitting beside the bed so that my face was in front of his. He buried his face into his pillow, humming as an answer before lifting his head once more, lazily smiling at me.

He then scooted over, patting the empty space beside him.
"No, we have to finish wrapping gifts!" I pouted "It's your fault that we didn't finish last night, you know?" I grabbed his hand and started pulling at it but he suddenly pulled my arm, making me stumble forward onto the bed.

"Later." wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling my in closer-- nuzzling his nose against my hair as he did.

"That's exactly what you said last night but we ended up watching 2 movies instead of wrapping gifts." I rolled my eyes at him even though he wouldn't be able to see me. He let out a breathy laugh and affectionately patted my stomach with the hand wrapped around my waist.

"Fine." he finally said before shifting so that he was leaning on one arm and was hovering above me. He leaned in, giving my forehead an affectionate kiss before standing up and heading out the room.

Once my heartbeat was stable enough, I decided to go to the living room where I prepared the gifts and the supplies needed to wrap them with. On my way to the living room, I caught a glimpse of Daehyun rummaging through the cabinets in the kitchen-- probably to find something to eat.

I was halfway through wrapping the second gift when Daehyun came in with two steaming mugs occupying his hands. He carefully walked over to me and laid my favourite cup in front of me. I leaned over to take a peak of its contents ans smiled when I realized that it was hot chocolate with the small marshmallows floating around. 

"Thank you." I murmured, earning a hum as an answer from him.

I smiled happily at him before taking the mug, sipping the sweet , warm drink before going back to the task at hand. We just sat there, me fussing over the gifts while he simply watched and sipped form his own mug of hot chocolate.

I took glances up at him every now and then, earning a not-so-simple-- for me at least-- smile from him every single time. 

By the time I started wrapping the second last gift, Daehyun was already grumbling about food. I glared up to him, not able to concentrate on wrapping the gifts.

“Yah” I snapped at him “Go and get dressed. Stop bothering me-- if I don’t finish and get ready, we won’t be able to leave to get to the party!” gesturing with my free hand, I concentrated once more.

“Yeah, yeah.” he mumbled and I could just see him rolling his eyes at me. Deciding to let it go this time, I just rolled my eyes and shook my head at his childishness.

“Done!” I cheered, admiring my work. I sighed to myself and cleaned up the pieces of wrapping paper and tape all over the place before going straight to our room to get ready.

“Daehyun have you seen the necklace my mom gave me?” I called out to him as I put my earings on, turning towards the bathroom only to be stopped by the sight in front of me.

He turned to me as he wiped his face with a towel--face slightly dripping with water. A few buttons at the top of his shirt were slightly open and I couldn’t help but swallow the lump that was suddenly blocking my throat. I blinked a few times, clearing my throat as an attempt to bring back some sense into my head but my attempts were in vain when he smiled at me, tilting his head a bit to the side.

“What was that?” he asked me, turning to hang the towel back. I was grateful for the few seconds that his action has given for me to regain my composure.

“My.. My necklace.. Did you see it?” I asked once more, walking in before checking my reflection-- doing whatever to hide the blush that creeped up my cheeks.

“Hmmm..” he said, wrapping his arms around my waist “I like this dress, looks pretty on you.” he whispered against my ear, sending shivers down my spine. I tried wiggling out of his arms but he only tightened them around me.

“I asked about the necklace my mom gave me, Daehyun. Not the dress i’m wearing.” I chuckled, rolling my eyes at him. 

“I know.” he started “Just saying.” burying his face at the crook of my neck whilst his hands slowly made their way up my arms.

“How about this one then?” he asked, both hands meeting in front of me, unraveling a necklace in front of me. The diamond shaped as a flower, shining against the beams of light shining through the window. I blinked a few times, staring at the piece of jewelry in front of me.

“You got me a present?” I finally let out when he put the necklace around my neck- still dumbfounded.

“Yeah? What’s wrong with that?” he chuckled, putting his hands on my shoulders before turning me around to face him. I shook my head as an answer, lifting a hand to hold the piece of jewelry that now hung on my neck.

“Nothing. I just like it.” I smiled like a fool at him. This time, it was my turn to wrap my arms around his waist.

“I like it too.” he said, making me raise an eyebrow at him “Look’s real pretty with that dress.” he grinned, making me roll my eyes at him before leaning in to press my lips against his.

“Thank you.” I said once we pulled away from each other, buttoning up his shirt for him.

“Hmm... I do expect a reward though.” he smirked “You don’t know how hard it was for me to go and pick this one up for you. The sales lady got too excited.” he said with a horrified expression on his face this time around, making me laugh at the thought of him picking out jewelry for me.
