"What?" my boyfriend let out, his neck extending longer than I have ever seen it do so and his eyes widening as if they were about to pop out.

"My parents want us to come over today." I said in a careful tone, biting my bottom lip.

"How come I have no clue of this again?" he asked, raising an accusing brow at me.

"Because..." I started, thinking of a fairly good reason but nothing came.

"Because what?" he said with an intimidating look on his face.

"I just forgot....." I said with a pout earning an 'I told you so' look from him.

"Come one, it's not that bad is it? You said you wanted to meet my parents anyways!"

I said and gave him a pleading look. He tilted his head and gave me a beaten look

before standing up and leaving the room

He then stopped by the doorway before grunting and turning back to me, saying;

"Are going to get ready or not?" with a sulky look on his face. I couldn’t help but smile at his actions

and I cheered before following him to get dressed.

"Are you sure I look fine?" he asked before turning to me with a worried look on his face.

"Dae, you look great." I said, not able to stop the grin from forming on my lips.

He literally asked me the same question for the past ten minutes now. Is he really that nervous?

"Let’s go?" he finally asked me and I nodded my head at him.

The least I could do was wait for him prepare himself mentally, after all.

We got out of the car and he nervously took a deep breath before stepping up

and walking with me to the door of my parents’ house.

"Who else is going to be there again?" he asked me as I rang the doorbell.

"Just my parents and my older sister. No one special." I smiled at him and he returned it with an awkward one

"Yeah... No one special, right?" he said, sarcasm lacing his voice but I decided to ignore it.

Nervousness was eating him alive after all and that was more than enough punishment for now.

Shuffling was soon heard from the other side of the door and I enjoyed myself as

I watched Daehyun’s adam’s apple bob up as he swallowed audibly.

I started grinning and turned when i heard the door open, revealing my mom in her apron.

"Oh! Just in time! I was just asking your sister to prepare the table for us." she started with her usual friendly smile.

She then turned to Daehyun, giving him a once over before smiling in contentment.

"You must be ____’s boyfriend." she said, holding out a hand for him to shake.

Daehyun introduced himself and respectfully--more of nervously shook my mom’s hand.

"Well, come on in!" she said as I handed her the cookies that

Daehyun insisted on bringing, saying that his mother told him that no "proper man" goes to a special lady’s house empty handed.

So we ended up dropping by the nearby bakery and getting cookies to bring home

"Why thank you, you didn’t have to bother." my mom said and nodded in approval once more-- not that Daehyun or anyone else aside from my family would understand her gestures.

She always had a smile on her face that people naturally thought that she was an angel but deep down she was really an evil little being.

"Come on in, your dad has been waiting for you to visit." she smiled and disappeared off into the kitchen.

We then headed for the living room where my dad and my older sister were currently watching a soccer game.

"Hey." my sister greeted us and came up to me for a hug.

"How’s the baby?" Daehyun asked her with a soft smile on his face.

They have known each other through my sister’s husband Yongguk and Daehyun and I actually met through her.

"She’s doing great! But unfortunately the father isn’t." she said as she rolled her eyes

"he’s been very overprotective and it’s too much!" she said with a grunt but the twinkle in

her eyes and the small smile on her face showed how happy she was. I couldn’t help but smile.

"That’s normal. It’s your first time!" I said and turned to my dad who has been eyeing Daehyun with a speculative eye all this time.

"Appa!" I called out and hugged him. I have always adored this man.

"How are you doing?" he asked with his carefree smile.

"Great!" I started and turned to Daehyun who stood awkwardly with my sister snickering beside him.

"This is my boyfriend Daehyun." I said and motioned towards him

"Good evening, sir! I am your daughter’s boyfriend Jung Daehyun." he said formally with a 90 degrees bow.

I hear my dad chuckle lightly, knowing he liked Daehyun.

"Great to finally meet you." he said in his usual gentle voice and smiled at Daehyun as he patted his shoulder.

"Dinner is ready!" my mom called out and the four of us soon headed to the dining area.

We soon started eating but I couldn’t help but notice how Daehyun barely ate anything.

He just kept on playing with his food, stuffing it in his mouth every now and then.

I turned to him, concern filling me up. Was he not feeling well?

I leaned over and tilted my head so that I could get his attention. He gave me a small smile

and stuffed his mouth once more.

"Are you okay?" I whispered to him and he only nodded his head, his face somehow relaxing a bit.

He softly smiled at me and patted my head before letting out a small ‘uhuh’.

I slowly nodded my head and went back to eating, still uncertain with his sudden change of attitude. I mean, it’s Jung Daehyun and food!

Those two together would make anyone think of Daehyun stuffing his face full of food and not him playing around with it.

I kept on glancing over to him every now and then, not being able to stop my concern.

Maybe I shouldn’t have forced him to come here after all. I bit my bottom lip, suddenly

feeling guilty about this whole thing but then it came.

"Time for dessert!" my mom said as she walked in the room with cheesecake in her hands.

I literally saw Daehyun’s eyes sparkle and forced down a laugh when I saw his adam’s apple bob up and down.

I watched as Daehyun watched the cake intently with a hungry look in his eyes.

My mom put it down on the table and started slicing it, handing over a piece to Daehyun.

Yep, this might just bring him back. A "small"(in Daehyun’s perception) piece of cheesecake won’t do for Daehyun, after all.

I then chocked on a laugh when he came back to being an obedient little boy and started eating his cheesecake slowly and quietly--- which is so much unlike Daehyun.

Once he finished the slice of cake, he started eyeing the cake which was placed right in front of him.

I was about to offer more for him when I heard my father clear his throat, making Daehyun straighten up once more.

I saw a familiar playful glint in my dad’s eyes and he chuckled before patting Daehyun’s shoulder.

"Boy, all you have to do is ask for another slice. We don’t bite." he said with a small chuckle.

Daehyun’s face turned bright red and he bowed, handing over his plate to my mom who was also laughing at him.

"Aigoo~ You don’t have to be so shy around us, you know?" she said, handing him his plate back.

He respectfully took it and thanked my mom before sitting back down on his seat.

"I especially made this cake fore you too!" she said, making look at her in surprise.

He then turned to me, a grin slowly it’s way up his lips. I gave him an incredulous look and pursed my lips

together to keep from smiling back. He was just too adorable to handle.

He then started eating a bit more normally-- thank goodness it’s just a little bit making me sigh to myself.

I then felt his hand take hold of mine underneath the table, making me me smile in contentment and amusement at this man beside me.

He ended up keeping my hand in his for most of the evening
