Chapter 35: Second Guy Best Friend

"Wake up! Breakfast is ready!" You could hear your mother shouting from the kitchen.

Feeling tired from work, you decided to skip breakfast but all hopes were crashed when your mother burst into the room, "Kids get up!"

You and Jun snuggled closer and ignored your mother's shouting. At times like this, you wished you were living alone with no one to boss you around.

"Noona, Umma is so noisy," Jun mumbled in his sleep.

You couldn't help but to chuckle at his cuteness, "Aigoo! Is our Junnie up?"

Jun shakes his head and you ruffled his hair, "Why don't we have breakfast then I'll bring you out for a walk?"

"Like old times?" Jun finally opened his eyes.

You nodded your head in response, "Just like old times. But we have to be fast since I have to go somewhere later."

"Alright!" Jun sprung up from the bed and ran out of the room to look for your mother.

Shaking your head in amusement, you too got up and went straight into the bathroom to take a shower.

After breakfast, as promised your brought Jun out. You didn't know exactly where to go and so you brought him to the park you met Lay the last time. Heading towards the exact same direction, you held on tightly to Jun's hands and brought him to the park.

"Woah! The playground here looks much more fun than the one at home!" Jun exclaimed in excitement.

You let go of his hands and sand on the swing as you watched Jun play with the rest of the neighbourhood kids. You thought of what would it be like if they both of you were actually raised here in South Korea instead of Singapore. Would you still be a bilingual or will you only understand Korean? Your thoughts however were interrupted when you heard the swing beside you move.

"Kris, what are you doing here at this timing?" You grew curious since he usually sleep in during the weekends.

"I would like to ask the same for you. No offence though but why are you here?" Kris asked in return.

You pointed to Jun who was running around at the playground, "I brought my brother out. What about you?"

"Brother? Didn't know you had one," he said before holding up the plastic bag in his hands, "Tao asked me to get chocolates for him."

"You never asked," you pointed out.

Kris shrugged as he watched the little kids play and a fatherly smile grew on his face. You noticed that and you couldn't help but think that his future wife is lucky to have him as a husband.

"Is there something on my face?" Kris asked when he caught you staring at him.

"Nothing. Isn't it funny when you try to recall our first meeting?"

Kris minds wandered off to the first day he met you and he couldn't help but to snicker, "Yeah, I thought you were some lost middle school kid when I first saw you step into the school."

"Hey!" You beat his arms, "For you information, I thought you were a freakishly large guy who was held back from graduating."

Kris gaped at your comments, "Mean!"

You laughed at his expression, "The way you looked at me during the entrance exam was freaking scary especially when you asked for my phone."

"Haha! I even forgot to return you your phone," he scratched his head when he thought of that embarrassing moment.

"At least we became friends right?" You said.

Kris nodded his head in agreement, "I'm the first friend you EVER made in this school but the funny thing is that Lay became your best friend."

"Sitting beside him every day in school is probably one of the main reasons why we became best friends."

"What’s the other reason then?"

"Annoying him? Or maybe how we're both equally competitive?" You shrugged.

"I amazed that you didn't fall for our dimple boy," Kris commented.

You stayed quiet as you thought about it, "Maybe because we're so close to the point that I see him as a brother? Plus wouldn't it be weird if I like my own brother?"

"Totally, but it wouldn't be weird if you eventually fall for his best friend right?" Kris chuckled.

You beat his arms again and glared at him, "Haha very funny!"

"See! You didn't deny it!" Kris laughed, "You like him don't you?"

"You like Yejin don't you?" You asked him back.

"Avoiding the question huh? It's okay, I know that you like him," Kris smile at you sincerely and it was very rare of him to do so, "If Lay's your first guy best friend, then I'm your second."

You raised your eyebrows at him, "Why is that?"

"Just because," he shrugged, "As your second guy best friend, let me assure you that Luhan's feelings for you is genuine and that he truly likes you. Maybe even love you."

You stayed quiet as you took in everything Kris just uttered, "Thanks... For telling me that."

You smiled at him and Kris understood what you mean by that smile.

"Look at the time," you said as you checked your watch.

You shouted for Jun and your brother cane running to your side. Kris said hello to him and handed him a bar of chocolate which was meant for Tao, "Isn't that Tao's?"

"Don't worry," he assured you, "I bought a lot."

The three of you walked back to the apartment with Jun sitting on Kris' shoulders, "Hyung, you're so tall!"

Kris chuckled at your brother's cuteness. As the three of you waited for the elevator, your phone rang and you answered it, "Hello?"

"Hey? You didn't forget about our date right?" It was Luhan.

You rolled your eyes even though you knew he couldn't see it, "I didn't okay?"

"Where are you now?" He asked.

"At the lobby with Kris and Jun."

"Kris? What is he doing there?" Luhan raised his voice loud enough and Kris heard him.

"We went out on a date," Kris , "Jealous?"

"Why you stupid giant! I'll kill you the moment you step into the house!"

The both of you rolled eyes at the same time, "Gotta go now deer boy! Bye!"

You hanged up on him. You and Kris laughed as you walked into the elevator.

"Date huh?" Kris wiggled his eyebrows.

You gave him a disgusted look in return, "I know you wanna go on a date with Yejin too right?"

"Over that Baozi's body!" He exclaimed.

"Ignore him! Just go before you lose her to someone."

"Who might I ask?"

"There's a lot of eligible guys in our school and Yejin's quite popular too you know," you pointed out, "Act fast before someone steals her away from you."

The both of you got off the lift and was greeted by your father, "What are you doing up there Jun?"

"Hyung is tall right?" Jun asked excitedly.

Your father could only laugh before turning his attention to Kris, "Who is this may I ask?"

"Pardon my rudeness sir, I'm Kris. Kris Wu, Yuri's school mate and neighbour," Kris introduced himself.

"You sounded just like the other boy," your father commented, "What's his name again? The one that looks like a deer. Lu something."

"You mean Luhan?" Kris asked.

"Yeah Luhan! He's such a fine looking boy and so are you! I wonder how many more guy friends my dear daughter has," you covered your face in embarrassment as you father blabbered on.

"Appa! You talk too much," Jun pointed out.

"Oh yeah! Sorry about that. I tend to get carried away," your father rubbed his neck, "I should get going now. It was nice meeting you Kris."

Kris bowed as your father entered the lift, "I like your father. Such a pity you don't talk as much as he does."

You rolled your eyes and signalled for Jun to come down. Kris bent down to allow Jun to get off his shoulders safely. Before Kris made his way in you had stopped him, "Tell Luhan I'll be ready in 30 minutes before he starts nagging."

"I will. Have fun later!" Kris said before he unlocked the door.
