Chapter 24: Confrontation

The rest of the school week was hell for you. Not only were you stressed out about your school work but also the appearance of people from your past. You, however, ignored every single one of them including your ‘best friends’.

You spent most of your time with the boys whenever Yejin had to perform her duties as the vice-president. Luhan noticed the sudden change in your attitude and behaviour. You were like a piece of fragile glass. You rarely talked and would often space out. He made a mental note not annoy you but he figured that you would rather be treated the same.

On Monday, while the rest of the boys slept in, Luhan woke up earlier than usual to prepare breakfast for the boys and you. When he heard your door opening, Luhan quickly slipped on his shoes and ran out of the door, leaving the five boys behind.

"Good morning Tinkerbelle!" Luhan sounded extra chirpy especially on a Monday, making you feel suspicious of his behaviour.

"You look happy today," You commented, "Where did the grumpy Peter Pan go to?"

Luhan lightly pushed your forehead, "He went back to Beijing."

You couldn't help but laugh at his silliness and Luhan was glad to hear your laughter again.

When you reached the lobby, you suggested riding the bicycle to school since you were too drained to walk.

Much to your surprise, Luhan complied with your wish and cycled the both of you to school. You hugged his waist tightly as he cycled and you couldn't help but feel safe having him around you. Am I really moving on?

"Yuri ah," Luhan broke the silence, "You do know that I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to. I'm worried about you."

You were taken aback by his words. You were apologetic for making him worry about you and it was selfish of you to push aside your friends over your own problems.

Luhan suddenly stopped by the side walk and rummaged through his bag.

"Why did you stop?" You asked him.

"Because I wanted to give you this!" He took out a nicely wrapped triangle looking aluminium foil and passed it to you.

You opened the aluminium foil and you smiled at its contents, "Ham & Cheese sandwich?"

Although it might not seem like it, but Luhan was really sincere and he meant what he said. "Where did the childish Peter Pan go?" You joked, hoping to lighten up the mood.

Luhan playfully sped up at your comment, "He's still here but he ain't coming out unless Tinkerbelle starts smiling again."

You laughed heartily at what he said, "Thank you Luhan. It really feels good to see this side of you."

"I'm a man of many charms and being manly is one of them.”

"Yeah don't push it before I push you off this bicycle."

As the both of you were reaching school, you saw a bus passed by and entered the school grounds, "It must be them."

"You know them?" Luhan asked.

"Besides them being part of the cultural exchange programme?" you asked, earning a nod from Luhan, "Yeah. They're students from my previous school and my old friends are there too."

"Then why don't you talk to them?"

"Let's say my last conversation with them didn't really end so well."

"But didn't you guys talk on twitter?"

"Those were my old classmates and juniors."

Luhan safely chained the bicycle while you waited for him at the side. From where you were standing, you could see your old friends looking at you but you ignored them. Juniors greeted both you and Luhan, and you returned their greetings.

"You acknowledge their presence but not ours?" It was Finn again, "Look, I don't get why you're still acting this way. If it's still about what we said about Kevin's death then we're sorry."

You looked up to see Finn, and your best friends Jamie and Nicole standing behind you.

"Try getting accused of killing someone by your close friends and see how it feels," you snapped at them, "Luhan let's go."

You dragged Luhan away from them. You stopped halfway and turned around, "By the way, do not mention Kevin's death in front of me. None of you are worthy to speak off him."

Luhan followed you wherever your feet brought you. He didn't speak at all and just quietly watches over you. At this point of time, he was curious who this Kevin was and why are you greatly affected by his death.  As much as he wants to ask you, he decided not to pry into it and just wait for you to tell him about it yourself.
