Chapter 39: EXO

 

"BWOH!?"

He looked at his group members and nodded slowly, "I could recognise her anywhere."

"But Kai hyung said she was B.A.P's girl. Baekhyun hyung, she couldn’t possibly her." the maknae said.

"It was her. I'm sure of it." Baekhyun said, taking of his mask.

"It's true. I only a glimpse of her, but her voice made it easier for me to remember." one with big eyes agreed.

"But D.O, even if it was her, we can't do anything about it." a tall one said.

"Chanyeol's right. She's...practically our enemy now." the leader spoke, sadness dripping from his voice.

It was silent. They didn’t like the fact that you had to be someone they hated. And there was one specific person who hated it more than anyone else.

"But I don’t want to hurt her…" the maknae whined.

Kai straightened, "Hyung, don’t tell me we're going to stop what we were planning just for a stupid girl?"

"Kai, she's not stupid. And she's not just any girl." Chanyeol said.

"Well, she seems like a to me is she moved from here to B.A.P" Kai said without thinking. He suddenly felt a sharp pain shoot the left side of his lip and he fell to the ground. Looking up, he saw the flaming Baekhyun, fists clenched and staring at him with nothing but anger. His group members holding him back, scared of the damage he could cause.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Kai yelled, standing up while wiping the blood off his lips. Baekhyun released himself from his friends and his hands found their way to Kai's shirt, gripping it with anger, "Don’t you dare say that about Hyun Jae. She is NOTHING like you describe her. She may be B.A.P's right now, but I swear that she is still the Hyun Jae I know. Not stupid, Not a , and definitely not like any other girl out there." Baekhyun released Kai with a push and sighed as he leaned against the wall.

". What the hell?" Kai cursed as he dusted himself off. He never knew his hyung could get that much angry at someone just for one girl.

"Maybe we should stop..." the leader started, gaining the attention of his group, "This rivalry between EXO and B.A.P has lasted way too long for it to be healthy and the reason why it even started is completely stupid now that I think about it." His groups members hesitated before nodding in agreement.

"Alright. It's decided. Call EXO-M and tell them what happened. We need to somehow find an agreement with B.A.P…." their leader trailed off into his thoughts before Baekhyun spoke.

"Hyung. I have an idea."

 

 

 

"Jung Daehyun…" you hissed slowly, stepping closer to him, with a bottle of alcohol in your hand.

Daehyun looked around, trying to find an excuse for you not to pour the painful liquid on him, "Er… T-that's oppa t-to you."

All you did was narrow your eyes into slits and open the lid of the bottle. "Jae. Look. We didn’t know they'd bring their senior gang with them…" Daehyun started to lift his hands up, shielding what ever he could.

"We were out numbered." Jongup said, trying to help his hyung. You ignored him and continued to advance towards your best friend. Daehyun, giving up, just closed his eyes for the stinging pain that awaits him. You smirk inwardly and pour the whole bottle on to him without mercy. B.A.P looked away, not wanting to see their friend's pain stricken face. Daehyun screamed in agony, squirming and blowing on his wounds, hoping to get he pain off.

You just watched as he did everything to stop the stinging, either jumping around, rubbing the spot, or flinging himself about. He lay on the floor and rolled around, using the technique for getting fire off yourself, while occasionally looking like a dog trying to scratch his back.

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" you burst into laughter. Daehyun stopped what he was doing and B.A.P turned to look at you. All six faces showing obvious confusion.

"THA-THAT W-WASN’T EVEN...EVEN ALCOHOL!!!" you said between your laughs. Daehyun blinked.

He looked down at his soaked self and realized he wasn’t even hurting. Not one bit. And he couldn’t smell that strong tang that came with the alcohol that usually annoyed him more than the sting.

He stood up glaring at you, "Yah! You tricked me?"

"Nah~" you said sarcastically with a chuckle, "Of course I did, Sherlock. You should've seen the look on your face!" B.A.P joined you and started laughing at the poor Daehyun.

"HAHA! She got you good!" Himchan laughed clapping his hands like a seal.

Daehyun stood up from the couch and huffed into your kitchen.

"Hah~" the six of you left finished your laughing fit. You all just stood there blinking at nothing.

"Um...Wanna eat?" 

 

 

 

"YAH. YAH. YAH. THE FOOD'S NOT GONNA RUN AWAY." you scolded, watching B.A.P literally dig their faces into the food. They lift their faces up for a second, having rice grains stuck to it, "We didn’t eat the whole day. Don’t blame us."

"What do you mean you didn’t eat? You had breakfast here." you said. They blinked.

"We did?" Jongup asked, tilting his head. You rolled your eyes, "But it doesn’t seem like you ate after that... Continue scarfing down your food!" They looked at each other, shrugged, and did as they were told. Watching them in amusement, you silently ate your food, but a question appeared in your head and you couldn't help but ask. "Who's EXO?"

The six of them immediately started choking and you scrambled out of your chair to get 6 glasses of water.

"WHAT?!" the six of them yelled after chugging down the whole glass.

"I was just wondering who EXO was." you said, slightly lifting your arms up.

"Our enemies." Daehyun answered quickly. You rolled your eyes, "I know that. But why?"

"They're bastards who don’t know what's there's or not." Youngjae hissed.

It became silent and you noticed all of them seemed to look at one person from the corner of their eyes. Yongguk. You looked straight at him, He noticed your gaze and he looked up and you could almost see the sadness in his eyes.

You thought this was an uncomfortable situation and you spoke up, "Listen, if this is something I shouldn’t know, then I-" "One of them stole my first love…" Yongguk quietly cut you off, his gaze down.

"W-what?" you asked, surprised he would actually tell you. He looked at you straight in the eye, "It was in freshman year. I was dating a girl that went to their school and it was going perfectly fine. I was even getting along with EXO, even though we weren't close, we didn’t hate each other. But...she suddenly broke up with me. Just like that... I went to their school to ask her why and I caught them kissing." Yongguk let out a sigh, looking up to stop the tears.

"When I went to confront them, she started crying and told me that he assaulted her and… and I never saw her again."

"Since then, we've always hated each other." Himchan continued, "They'd always tried to ruin us, and we couldn’t just stand there and let them. We became nothing but enemies…"

You looked down. You were completely speechless about the matter and you hated yourself for bringing the uncomfortable subject to them. Deciding it would better to cheer them up, you took a deep breath and stood up with a smile. Their eyes diverted to you.

"Aish. Enough of the sadness. Gukkie oppa, you're happy now right? Even without her, you're still smiling and going on with your life." you told him, "and you guys, er...you're happy fighting and, uh, being manly...right?" 

You weren't so sure about that one. They chuckled at you're anxious face, that went unnoticed by you, and you immediately brightened. "Hehe. Forget that I ever asked that question, okay? I don’t get the way of gangsters, so I'll just back away from those things." you said with a tilt of your head.

They smiled as they noticed you trying to cheer them up. "Ah~ I'm full~" Daehyun rubbed his tummy cutely. You smirked at him, "You're washing plates mister. Come on guys~"

The rest of B.A.P stood up, chuckling as they followed you to the living room, leaving the gaping Daehyun looking at the pile of mess on the dining table.

 

 

 

 

"I'm late. I'm late. I'm late." you mumbled angrily to yourself, wobbling to put your chucks on. Tying your hair up in a sloppy bun, you run out the door, holding up your slipping glasses.

"Aish!" you ruffled your hair in frustration as you ran twice the speed you did before. Getting a view of the school gates, you noticed that they were still wide open. A smile plastered on your face, you start to slow down, trying to catch your breath, holding your knees for support. Looking up again, you saw the gates slowly closing and you immediately start to curse yourself.

"No. No. No. No." you cried as you watch the gap get smaller and smaller by the second. Slipping through them just a second before they fully closed, you breathed a sigh of relief.

"Omo… NEVER. Going to wake up late again." you grabbed your bag, that somehow slipped out of your grip and fell to the ground,  before walking inside the school building.

 

 

 

Gasps and squeals filled the halls as a group of handsome guys walk past. And the surprising thing is, it wasn’t B.A.P.

-Aren't they EXO?-

-What are they doing here?-

-Omo. I never knew they were hot!-

-Wah~ Isn't that Baekhyun?-

-God, they're handsome.-

"Hyung...Maybe if we move to the side, we wont be that much in the centre of attention," the maknae suggested, shuffling closer to the lockers. His hyungs followed him, but soon got pushed back into the centre when a swarm of girls got the confidence to approach them.

Screaming out random things to them, the boys didn’t get a word they were saying and they felt like their ear drums were about to burst.

They managed to take out their schedules in the midst of almost getting trampled on, and they looked at each others', checking to see if they had the first class together.

"I'm with Tao hyung, Chen hyung and Luhan hyung!" Sehun exclaimed happily.

"I'm with Yeol and D.O." Kris said as Chanyeol gave him a smile.

"Baekhyun, Xiumin hyung and Lay, you're with me." Suho told them.

"What? Why do I have to be alone?" Kai whined, finding out he had no one with him.

"Relax Kai." Kris gave him a pat on the back.

Kai sighed, "Whatever."

"Alright. Everyone, get to class." Suho told his groups members before he went off with Baekhyun, Xiumin and Lay. Everyone did as they were told and Kai was left searching for his room by himself.

"Aish...Why'd we have to move schools for one freaking girl…" he muttered as he looked for his correct room number.

Finally spotting the number he mumbled to himself, "Ah...Here it is. Room 330"

 

 

You ran through the empty hallways to your locker where you opened it within two swift turns of the combination lock. Grabbing your books for first period, you close your locker with a bang and you started your run to your classroom again. Upon arriving there, you were focused so much on not getting detention, that you didn’t notice the tall boy leaning against the wall, right next to door. You walked straight past him, without paying a glance, and cautiously opened the door and you sighed extra loudly when you realized the teacher was late too. You sat on your usual spot next to Shin Woo and he immediately shook his head at you.

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. You're late missy." he playfully scolded.

"Shutup. I woke up late." you said, hitting his arm lightly.

"Alright! Sorry if I'm late, class." your homeroom teacher hollered as soon as he stepped into the classroom, "We have a new student everyone."

Squeals errupted in the class and you gave Shin Woo a questioning look, "Who's the new kid?"

He shrugged, "To be honest, I was pretty late too." You rolled your eyes with a smile at his dorkiness and directed your attention back to the teacher.

"Please come in." he told the student outside. A tall, dark haired boy came into view. His hair was messy, yet he still managed to pull it off and he had his hands in his pockets, a backpack slung over one shoulder. His posture looked familiar to you and he had a familiar aura around him. You looked up at his face, only to find him looking straight at you.

"Haksaeng, please introduce yourself." the teacher told him.

He took a quick glance at the teacher as he spoke then directed his gaze straight back to you.

"Kai." he simply said, but it still managed to higher the squeals by a few dozen decibels.

"Okay. You can sit over there." the teacher pointed to a seat on the other side of you, on the other table.

He slightly nodded, his eyes still on you, before he made his way to the seat with his hands in his pocket.

He was facing the front as the teacher started the lesson and you couldn’t help but furrow your eyebrows in thought as you looked at his side angle. He looked really familiar to you. Not his actual face but the shape of his body; the way he craned his neck to look past the heads in front of him, the way he stood just then in front of the class and the way he looked at you. It was all so familiar to you, yet you cant remember why.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer." he whispered, giving you a side glance. You jumped slightly and looked the other way, embarrassed you just got caught staring. You could almost hear him smirk beside you and you bit your lip, feeling awkward. You took a deep breath and forced yourself to focus on taking notes, ignoring how you felt him smirk at you every now and then.

 

It was lunchtime and it surprised you that all your morning classes had Kai in it. Students rushed out of the classroom, wanting to get to the cafeteria first. You and Shin Woo took your time as usual to clear your things up and soon, the two of you were the only ones in the classroom.

"Kaja." Shin Woo said, sticking his hands in his pockets. You nodded, following him out.

When you arrived at the cafeteria, it was twice as loud as it would usually be. Thinking it was just about Kai, you just waved it off and walked over to the line.

 

Meanwhile, some EXO boys had met up in the hallways and were struggling to walk without getting stopped by a crazed fangirl every 3 seconds.

"Aish...This is really annoying." Chen said as he dodged a girl's hand, causing him to bump into Lay.

"Urgh… IM HUNGRY~" Xiumin whined as if nothing was happening.

"You and your food…" Kris muttered under his breath.

"OH MY GOD!" they heard Kai's familiar voice behind. They turned around to see Kai running away from a crowd of girls. When he reached EXO, he somehow found his way into the centre without getting killed by the girls.

Panting, he said, "How...did...those girls...get...our faces...ON A FREAKING POSTER?!"

EXO looked at where he was referring  to and noticed about a dozen large posters amongst the crowd of girls, showing their faces.

"What?! We just came here today!" D.O yelled, dumbfounded.

"God, they're crazy." Sehun whispered, hiding behind Luhan for safety.

"They even got a picture of Xiumin hyung eating a bun." Tao laughed, pointing at a poster.

Xiumin's eyes widened at the thought, "I WANT FOOD NOW!"

"Hyung, the cafeteria is right around the corner." Sehun pointed out. A gush of wind came across and Xiumin was no where to be seen.

"That Bao Zi really…" Kris muttered, shaking his head.

 

"It's so noisy!" you shouted, even though it was unheard by the gossiping students.

"Just eat before I eat it for you." Shin Woo said, pointing his chopsticks at your food.

You made a face at him before replacing it with a smile, "How'd it go with Bora?"

He chocked on his food as his face reddened.

"Aigoo~ The dude's in love~" you cooed, stabbing your food with the chopsticks.

"...something on my face?" you heard Himchan's voice.

B.A.P was coming your way as they seemed to be talking about something.

"Hyung, there's nothing on your face." Jongup said with a roll of his eyes.

They sat down and greeted you and Shin Woo.

"Why was he asking if something was on his face?" you asked Jongup.

"The students were looking at us weirdly." Youngjae answered for him.

You tilted your head, "Why?" They shrugged. "I knew they were talking about us though." Yongguk stated. You just nodded.

"Aish. Why the hell is it so noisy here?" Daehyun whined, grabbing your chopsticks. You made a face at him, "Stop eating my food!"

"Mian, I'm hungry." he apologised, but kept eating. You just rolled your eyes at him and took your water, only for it to be taken away by Daehyun.

"Yah. Jung Daehyun." you called, still in the position that you were in before he took your water.

He hummed a response and you turned your head to him. "Get your own food, why don’t cha?"

He shook his head as he chewed on the rice. "Aish…This guy has a monster in his stomach." you muttered, giving up on trying.

"Here, I left you some." he said, passing the bowl back to you. You took it with a smile, "Good. I thought you'd just fini-" You cut yourself off when you saw there was just one grain of rice left. ONE GRAIN. "Are you serious? I wont even be able to feel myself swallow this." you whined, managing to pick the grain of rice with your chopstick.

"I really was hungry though…" he said, using his puppy eyes. You pushed his head with your finger, "You owe me a meal then."

"FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!" a voice actually over layered the gossip and the cafeteria became silent for a while. Then the squeals occurred, followed by the running of footsteps to the door.

You blinked, "Are we at a concert?" They just shrugged.

You turned back around and continued talking to Shin Woo when B.A.P suddenly stood up.

You gaze directed to them and you gave them questioning looks, but they just looked straight ahead.

"What's happening to them?" you whispered to Shin Woo. "Molla." he answered, also confused.

"What do you think your doing here?" Yongguk spoke. You noticed the cafeteria had suddenly become quiet and the heavy breathing of B.A.P was the only thing that was heard.

You looked from the corner of your eyes, a bit scared to see who they were talking to, but all you saw were girls, focused on B.A.P.

"Look, we're not here to-" a voice got cut off by Jongup. "Just get out of here."

"Don’t cause trouble at our school." Youngjae continued.

"We're not trying to cause trouble." Kai's voice was heard and your eyes widened. Kai? Why are they fighting with him?

"Hah. As if we'd believe that." Daehyun bitterly laughed.

"Can we just talk?" another voice was heard.

"Talk? You bastard, it's way too late for that." Himchan hissed, his hands forming into tight fists.

"Serio-" "JUST GET OUT!" Yongguk stormed to them and it was all too quick for eyes to see. You heard a groan and the loud thud of something falling to the floor. Your eyes sharpened and you quickly got out of your seat, nothing but stopping Yongguk was on your mind.

But you stopped in your tracks when you saw familiar faces right in front of your eyes. They were all looking shocked at Yongguk and their group member on the floor, blood oozing out of the corner of his mouth. Yongguk stepped forward to land another punch and you quickly got out of your zoning.

Stepping out in front of him, you intended to push him back. Instead the punch was still taken. By you.

You landed on the floor, pain shooting to your jaw. You tasted iron and you knew you were bleeding.

"JAE!" you heard voices call. You blinked a few times and shook your head, as if it would take the pain away. "You know you punch really hard," you wiped the blood off the corner of your mouth and stood up, a bit dizzy from the hard hit.

"Why'd you stop me from hitting EXO then?" Yongguk's voice was full of angered worry.

You felt unconsciousness take over you a bit, "EXO?"

"EXO. The bastards that you took the punch for." Daehyun snapped as you noticed him beside Yongguk. You blinked to get the dizziness away from you and you turned around, "But...These people cant be EXO."

"What?" B.A.P asked, confused. You furrowed your eyebrows, "These people are-" you stopped when you felt pain shoot to your head, but continued, "My friends."

"BWOH?!" B.A.P shouted, shocked. The pain struck again, hearing the loud noise.

One person in particular noticed your pain, something that no one else in the room did.

He came closer to you and put a hand on your shoulder. You turned around, dizzy, and saw the familiar face. You smiled lightly, "Bacon."

Unconsciousness fully took over you and you landed in someone's arms, everything going black.
