Narrator’s POV

Eunsoo took an involuntary step back.

“Howon-ah…..what are…you saying?” She gasped.

“This is the only way for us to be together.” He stated.

Eunsoo looked away.

“If we marry, my parents cant do anything about it anymore.”

“What about the throne?” She asked.

“I don’t care anymore, I just need you.” Hoya said.

Eunsoo sighed.

“Think it over, first, if we….marry….your parents will get mad.”

“Don’t you love me?” Hoya asked.

“I love you, but we’re still young, I still have my goals to accomplish~”

“You can still do that even if we’re married.” Hoya reasoned.

“Please listen to me, I still have a lot things I want to do, I have~”

“Why cant you just say yes, Eunsoo?! Is that too much to ask? Or you just don’t really love me?!”

“Howon~”

“Just give me….your answer.” Hoya looked at her.

Eunsoo held her tears in.

“I’m—I’m sorry, Hoya. I cant.”

Then she ran out from the room. Hoya ran his fingers through his hair and threw the ring away. He felt tears line his eyes.

Eunsoo ran out of the building. She didn’t stop until her legs gave out. She sat on a bench and looked around. She was at the school’s gardens alone.

She felt tears line her eyes.

She couldn’t say yes to him. She couldn’t.

She knew he loved her dearly and she did love him too.

But it went against her beliefs.

She wasn’t ready for marriage yet. She wiped her tears with her palms.

“I’m sorry, Hoya, I’m so sorry.” She whispered.

She sat up as she tried to recollect her thoughts. She knew that by rejecting him, she also had hurt him. But she didn’t have any choice, she~

“Here.” A handkerchief appeared out of nowhere. She looked up and found Kai looking at her.

“Take it, my arm’s gonna fall off.”

Eunsoo took the cloth from him and started to wipe her tears. Kai sighed and sat beside her.

He silently sat there with her as she tried to calm down.

“Kai, right?” Her voice was almost a whisper. Kai gave her a nod.

“You’re Eunsoo, girl from my class.” Kai said.

Eunsoo nodded.

“Did you follow me here?” She asked.

“Yes.”

Eunsoo’s eyes widened.

“No, I am not a ert~”

“But, Myungsoo said you’re a play~”

“Then should I leave you alone in this deserted place where erts may be waiting?” Kai raised one brow at her.

“Believe me, I’m not one of them, even though~”

“You don’t have to explain yourself, Jongin.”

Kai sighed and plucked out his pin from his shirt.

“It’s Kai.”

Kai’s POV

Why did I even try to explain myself?

I shook my head.

Nothing seems to be wrong with this girl, but why did she just reject the crown prince from earlier~

I blinked.

Is she two timing the other crown prince with that crown prince?

But…..she doesn’t look like it.

“Are….you….perhaps…..like me?” I asked. She looked at me.

“What do you mean?”

“I saw you with….the other crown prince.”

She faltered.

“And then you….rejected the crown prince just~”

“You nosy ert!”

Narrator’s POV

Kai blinked.

“I was just…passing by.”

Eunsoo looked away.

“Don’t worry, I know well what would happen if I open my mouth.”

Eunsoo sighed and leaned on the bench. Kai looked at her side profile, then he smiled.

“I was wrong, you’re not like that.” He nodded.

“You act like we’re close friends.” Eunsoo muttered, Kai just smiled.

“We’re classmates, we should be close.” Kai nodded, trying to lift her mood up.

“Just….dont tell anyone, arasso?”

Kai nodded, then Eunsoo stood up.

“I need to go, thanks for accompanying me.” She said as she got her bag.

Kai gave her a nod as she left.

Then Kai frowned.

“Eunsoo, wait!” He stood up, Eunsoo faced him.

“Don’t stress too much about it, just follow your heart.” He smiled at her.

Eunsoo nodded.

Kai shook his head as he got to his car. He didn’t even know he followed the girl earlier, he didn’t even know why he made the effort to know her name fro Baekhyun. All he knew was that there was something about her that pulled him in.

But then he got more intrigued when the girl actually rejected the crown prince’s proposal.
