Narrator’s POV

“Let’s break up.”

Those three words, three simple words and yet it broke him. Every part of him was aching.

“Eunsoo~”

“I can’t do this anymore. All the lying and the hiding. I cant, I’m tired. What happened today was a lesson to us.” Eunsoo said. Hoya shook his head and hugged her tightly.

“I’m sorry, but you have to let me go.” Eunsoo bit back her tears.

“I love you, don’t do this.”

“I want to rest.”

“Soo, please don’t do this.”

Eunsoo shook her head.

“Promise me one thing, before I let you go, Howon.”

She faced him.

“Become a good husband to Miss Shin and become a great king.” She smiled as tears streamed on her face.

“No…” Hoya shook his head.

Eunsoo pressed her lips on his briefly and stepped back.

“Goodbye.” She whispered as she left.

Eunsoo’s tears flowed as soon as she turned her back to him. She placed the back of her hand to as she half ran to the dorm.

“I have to let you go. There’s too much at stake. The future of the country and yours.” She whispered.

At the same moment, Kai sat up from his bed. He didn’t know but something kept him from going to sleep.

He might not have noticed it, but it’s been a week since he had a girlfriend.

Then his phone rang.

“Kai, its me.”

“Oh, hyung, wae?”

“Eunsoo has gone missing.”

Luhan and Kris got in their cars while Lay headed to Eunsoo’s dorm.

No one was able to contact her. She wasn’t at school either.

Lay talked to the dorm keepers, she wasn’t in her room. He sighed.

“Mei, where are you?” He muttered as he got in his car.

Kai’s POV

Why is she missing?!

I got in my car.

Did Lee Howon hurt her again?

I got my phone and dialed her number. Her phone was off.

This girl is going to drive me crazy.

I drove around the streets of Seoul. I couldn’t see her anywhere.

“Hyung, did you see her?”

“Ani, Luhan and I are at Hongdae, what about you?” Kris hyung replied.

“Not even a single clue.” I sighed.

And then I saw a girl walking alone wearing a  green parka.

Narrator’s POV

Kai slammed the door of his car and walked to her.

He roughly grabbed her shoulder and made her face him.

His eyes softened when he saw her pale face.

“Eunsoo.” He said. Eunsoo shook her head at him.

“What happened?” Kai asked. She shook her head again as her tears began to fall. Kai’s brows furrowed.

“I…..I….” She stuttered. Kai shook his head and hugged her.

“You what?!” Kai gasped and looked at her. Eunsoo shook her head.

“Ya, what happened to fighting~”

“I had to choose between his future and my~”

“YA, CHOI EUNSOO! Are you crazy?!”

Eunsoo sighed.

“You’re not going to the dorm.”

“Kai~”

“Lay hyung’s been looking for you.” He said stiffly. Eunsoo nodded.

“I……had my reasons Kai, for breaking up with him.”

Kai didn’t reply.

“I heard you got….attacked this morning, are you okay?” He asked. Eunsoo gave him a nod.

“Mei.” Lay said. Eunsoo did her best to smile and hugged her older cousin.

“Is it true?” He asked lowly.

“It was.”

Lay blinked.

“Was?”

“We broke up, ge.”

Lay didn’t know what to say. Half of him was happy because he knew his cousin would just get hurt with the crown prince, but he knew she loved him.

Kai leaned on the doorway and watched her.

He didn’t know why, but the sight of her crying pained him inside.

Lay looked up and gave a thankful smile to Kai. Kai nodded and left.
