Chapter 16
The One For Me
Narrator’s POV
Kai stopped in front of the Zhang residence, soon he was guided to the living room by the butler, where he found Kris and Lay.
“What brings you here?” Kris sat up.
“Did she…see the broadcast?” He asked. Lay shook his head.
“I don’t know what to do with her.” Lay sighed.
“Is she in her room?” Kai asked.
Eunsoo didn’t even bother sitting up when she heard her door open.
“Ge, I don’t want to go out~”
“It’s me, Miss Zhang.”
She looked to the door and found Kai looking at her.
“Oh, it’s you.” She sat up. Kai nodded at her.
“Can I enter?” He asked.
“You’re already inside.” She replied. Kai sat on the ottoman.
“Tell me honestly, how are you doing?”
Eunsoo shook her head.
“Why did you break up with him?”
“Because…..I needed to let him go. He told his parents Kai, that he wanted to give up the throne.”
“How did you know?”
“I met…with them. His father asked me to let him go.”
“And you just followed?!”
“You don’t understand…” Eunsoo looked at him.
“The pain…….it….wont go away.” She whispered. Kai’s eyes softened a the sight of her crying. He shook his head and sat beside her.
“Just cry it all out, Soo. I’m here.” He gently patted her shoulder.
“I don’t understand…..why wont it go away? I already let him go.”
Kai let he lean on him.
I’ll be your shoulder, Eunsoo.
Your POV
It was a Monday and everything was back to normal. I think.
“Feeling better now?”
I looked at Jihae.
“Don’t talk about it.” I replied. She gave me a smiled and squeezed my shoulder.
“No matter what happens, I’m here for you, Soo.”
“Thanks, Jihae-yah.”
I made my way to my next class when I heard some people behind me.
“Oppa! I made this for you earlier at the kitchen!”
“I even had butler Kang prepare it this morning, try it Howon oppa.”
I looked back, and found Hoya walking with his wife.
Narrator’s POV
Hoya froze when he saw Eunsoo looking at him. Their eyes met for a moment, but Eunsoo looked away and walked briskly.
Hoya unconsciously stretched one hand towards her direction. But she was gone.
Eunsoo heaved a sigh and sat on her seat. She saw Kai walk in with a girl.
She shook her head and started taking out her books.
“Jeez, woman. We’re over, I told you that already.” Kai muttered under his breath as the girl walked away.
Eunsoo’s lips curved upward a little.
Kai nodded at her before heading to his seat.
Kai’s POV
I hope she’s feeling better. Those royals and their pride, really, just because she isn’t a royal does that mean they have a right to control her?
Shin Chaekyung isn’t even as pretty~
Wait, what am I thinking?!
I looked at Eunsoo in front of me, from the way her shoulders were slumped; I could tell she wasn’t feeling well.
I have to see her smile again.
Then I heard my classmates squeal. I looked at the window.
Hoya and his wife passed by. Eunsoo looked away and took out her mp3.
I felt my phone vibrate in my chest pocket.
Lunch later with the guys. –Suho hyung
Narrator’s POV
After the class, Eunsoo received a text from Chanyeol, he asked her to come to the restaurant near the campus.
“Oh, you’re leaving too?” Kai asked as he walked beside her. She nodded.
“Chanyeol oppa texted me.”
“Really?” Kai blinked. Is Chanyeol coming with Suho too?
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“At~”
“It’s her! How could she show her face here?”
“Is she trying to seduce the prince again?”
Kai flinched and placed his palms on her ears. Eunsoo looked up at him.
“Don’t mind them.” He mouthed as they walked together.
From afar, Baekhuyun had to push Chanyeol’s mouth for it to close.
“Is that the Kim Jongin I know?” Chanyeol balked.
Sehun shook his head.
“Thath’s not….hyung….” He blinked.
Baekhyun smiled.
“I knew it.”
