One Month After

 

Little White Cafe

 

“ Here you go .. Ice coffee for you and Amber, Caramel Macchiato for you. “

“ Kamsahamnida Ajusshi .. “

Said Amber to the owner of the cafe before he lead his way back to the counter leaving those two person to continue their talks.

“ It's gonna be so much fun Amber. “

“ Emm .. I don't know unnie .. Why don't you ask Nicole unnie ? “

“ Her schedule already full with Jinwoon besides, it's on your school break. Please .. come with me. Only for two weeks. I don't

want to go there alone like last time. “

“ But .. you're going for your course and you might left me out later on. What I'm supposed to do when you're out for your

work ? “

“ Don't worry. I only have to spend two days for the work and the rest of the days are all ours .. keke “

“ But .. there is still one tiny problem. “

“ What ? “ She looked at Amber in curious.

“ Key .. “

She let out a chuckle when Amber mentioned his name.

“ What's so funny unnie ? “

“ That is a one big problem Am .. I'm sure he won't agree to this. That Diva always hate the idea of parting away from you. “

“ I'm sure my ears are gonna suffer because of his nags if I let him know about this. “

“ Yeah .. but if you do want to go .. I'll help to convince him .. how's that ? “

“ Can you ? “

“ Of course .. I know a little trick that will work on him. “

Amber looked at the older one with unbelievable stares which only made the girl in front of her to pouted.

“ Yah ! What's with that look ? Don't you ever underestimate me ... If you still remembered, I used to be with him for about

a year. “

She flashed a wicked smiles which only made Amber to chuckle at it.

“ Ha-ha .. There's no way I'm gonna forget that part unnie .. “

“ I know you won't. Anyway, why isn't he's here yet ? “

 

Amber took a look on her watch and surprisingly the clock already to 5 which means it's been almost one hour since

both of them get in the cafe.

 

“ I wonder where he is right now. “

“ I met him at the campus before I come here and he said something about meeting his lecturer but I didn't thought it will took

his time that long. “

“ Lecturer ? Did he cause any trouble in his class ? “

“ Haha .. believe me. He's being a good kid all the time. Not like what he used to in his high school days. “

“ Yeah .. he's a troublemaker back then. “

“ So do you young lady. “

“ Me ? Unnie .. What about me ? “

“ Both of you are troublemaker back then. All that you did was bickering, shouting and even fighting with each other. “

“ Well, he's the one who always start it first. “

“ And you're the one who always cause more fire in your arguments. “

“ He's being annoying .. until now, he's still the same. “

“ And that's what made both of you are compatible with each other. Don't you think so ? “

Both of them burst out laugh after that when they remembered back their memories back in the schooldays.

Amber can't seems to drink her Macchiato in peace with those stares that she got from a guy that was sat nearby the window,

not far from their table. He looked suspicious in her eyes with the way he looked away whenever she caught him glancing at

her but soon after that she realized that his glances wasn't for her instead for the girl in front of her. She can't help but to

chuckle at his cuteness which at first she thought it was kinda creepy for her.

 

“ What's so funny. “

“ I think someone is interested in you. “

“ Who ? “

“ That guy over there, the one who sit nearby the window. “

 

She turned to take a glance at the person that had been mentioned by Amber but end up looking back at Amber with

a confusion.

 

“ If you noticed, there are three guys sitting nearby the window. “

“ The one with the white tee unnie. “

 

She ce again and immediately looked away when she happened to made an eye contact with the guy that Amber just

talked about. Her face flushed right away because of that which only made Amber to laughed even more.

 

“ What's wrong with you face ? It's getting red unnie ... “

“ It's so embarrassing .. he caught me looked at him. It's all your fault Amber. “

She pouted at the younger one which only received another chuckle from Amber.

“ He's cute unnie .. “

“ Wait until Key heard you said that about another guy Amber ... “

“ Hehe .. don't worry .. he's not here yet .. “

“ Who's not here ? “

Both of them was surprised with that voice and Amber eyes widened soon after she turned to her back only to met with

Key's eyes.

“ Huh ? You ? “

“ Me ? Well, I'm here now. So, shall we go ? “

“ I should have hear that an hour ago. “

Amber mumbled all by herself while reached out for her bag.

“ Aigoo .. I'm sorry Baby. I know I'm late but don't blame me, blame that Mr Chris for taking my time. “

Said Key to defended himself.

“ Lucky you .. I have unnie for a company or else .. “

 

Key realized that there's another girl with Amber but he hardly care who the person is since he only have his eyes on Amber

since he got in there and only noticed it when Amber mentioned her which immediately cause his eyes to shifted at her.

 

“ Hey Yoona .. “

“ Hey you .. how dare you didn't notice me ! “

“ Sorry .. “

He just rub the back of his neck out of embarrassment.

“ Are you done ? “

Amber nodded at him before turned back to look at Yoona.

“ I'm going unnie .. owh .. do you want to join us ? “

She asked only to received a nudge from Key with a glare.

“ What ? “

“ Never mind Amber .. I don't want to ruin your lovey dovey moment later. Besides, this guy might nag at me for taking his Baby

away from him. “

Said Yoona since she know Amber might just leave him out to have fun with her.

“ If you said so ... “

Key then reached out for Amber's left hand. “ Let's go Baby .. Bye Yoona, see you at the campus. “

And they headed their way out of the cafe soon after that.

 

 

Yoona's POV

Here I am, all alone after being left by my tomboy dongsaeng.

 

* Better to finish this ice coffee fast ... it felt awful to stay here all alone. *

 

Just then, my minds remembered back the white tee guy who's been mentioned by Amber just now. Slowly, I turned to took a

glance at him but surprisingly he was not there. My eyes traveled around the cafe just to find a glimpse of his figure and of

course I didn't make it obvious for others and finally I saw him, standing by the counter though I'm still not sure whether it's the

right person or not since I only able to see his back from my place. He looks like in the middle making his order by the way the

staff nodded at his words.

 

* Wait ! Why did I even bother about him anyway ? *

 

The answer is, I was too bored from enjoying my ice coffee all by myself and my brain was free enough to even wonder about

this white tee guy. Just when I am still battling with my minds by guessing his age, I become startled when he suddenly turned

to his back which then only end up meeting with my gaze.

 

And I'm still looking at him right now and I don't know why can't I looked away. Maybe I was too shocked after being caught

off guard staring at him but he was no better from me either. He does seems startled too with the way his eyes widened looking

at me and then he choose to broke the eye contact by turned back to face the counter and that's the time when my eyes caught

something else and tried to warn him but ... “ Look at your ... “

 

I can't even finished the rest of the words when both the white tee guy and the waiter already collided with each other. I face

palmed myself since all of that happened because of me, well, not technically but it still can consider as my fault since he only

abruptly turned back when he startled by my gaze. When I looked back at him, the waiter along with the owner already helped

him out and his white tee didn't seems white anymore with the coffee stains on it.

 

* What had I done ? *

 

Quickly I get myself up from the seat and hesitantly walked towards him who still busy cleaning himself with the napkin. I don't

know why but I really felt guilty in this incidence though I'm not the one who spilled that coffee to him.

 

“ Are you alright ? “

I asked with a concern and only to met with his wide eyes looking at me in stunned.

“ Luckily it was not a hot drink ... “

I added some more when I noticed the ice cubes that was scattered on the floor which being cleaned up by the waiter on that

moment.

“ I'm .. “

I turned my gaze back at him when I heard his voice.

“ I'm fine. Thanks for your concern. “ He said nervously looking at me.

“ I'm .. sorry .. about just now .. I've made you startled right ? “

He the back of his neck while smiling at me awkwardly.

“ Well .. kinda .. “

I was about to say some more when the owner interfered our conversation.

“ Do you want to change ? I have an extra cloth in my room ... “

“ Gwaenchana .. I'll just head back home after this. “

“ I'm sorry Yesung for what happened. “

“ Nah .. It's ok .. It's my fault too ajusshi. “

Looks like the owner knows him by how both of them comfortably talking to each other.

 

* Yesung ? That's his name ? *

 

I decides to talk again after that.

“ Why don't you change to some dry cloth first ? It will be a lot comfortable that way. “

“ I'm fine ... really. My shop is only few blocks away from this cafe. “

“ Shop ? “

“ He's a music teacher and did you noticed the K.Y Block ? He own that shop too. “

The ajusshi answered on behalf of him.

“ K.Y Block .. the one that sells music instruments ? “

The white tee guy or better known as Yesung nodded to me with a shy smile.

“ I think I better go now. “

“ Alright, sorry once again and here's you order Yesung. “

“ Thanks Ajusshi. Owh .. err .. nice meeting you miss .. “

“ Yoona ... “

Weird, how easy I am to give my name to a stranger but he's not a stranger anymore since I already know his name.

“ Nice meeting you too Yesung-sshi .. “

“ Feel free to come to my shop Yoona-sshi .. “

Both of us bowed to each other before he made his way out of the cafe.

“ I think he's interested in you Yoona .. “

“ Ajusshi ! “

“ I just say .. hehe .. “

 

End Of Yoona's POV

Cheongpyeong River Land

 

Amber was jaw dropped once her eyes met the 50m bungee jump site that she hardly care what's her boyfriend been through

right now, fighting with his own fear.

 

“ I though you were joking about the bungee jump thing ... “

Said Amber who started to get excited over the bungee jump.

“ I wish I was ... “

He said with a big sighed while trying to cleared the lump in his throat that seems like not going to went off that easily.

 

He just hope that Amber could at least noticed his frightened expression right now but seems like his girlfriend was so into the

bungee that she already forget about his fear of the extreme things. Worse, she even dragged him with him towards it

enthusiastically and Key's heart almost fell off when he saw a person just jumped off from the platform 50m above his head.

 

“ I wanna go back ... “

He blurted before swatted her hand off him to walked away but before he can do so, his already being grab by her once again.

“ What do mean you wanna go back ? I thought you want this ? “

“ I do .. But can we just do it next time ? I don't think I can today. It was way beyond my imagination. “

“ Then, why did you have to bring it up and even boasted about it when you know yourself that you can't handle this ? “

Said Amber slightly frustrated with Key.

“ Well, it looks cool in the TV ... “

Amber just rolled her eyes in annoyance before lazily walked passed by him and headed her way towards the parking lot.

“ He just know how to ruined my day ... “

She mumbled all by herself , still feel unsatisfied towards Key.

 

* Why did you have to mentioned bungee jump earlier ? Aishh ! I know I will regret doing this ... *

 

He quickly catch up with her who's right now already few steps away from him.

“ Now what ? “

Asked Amber when Key suddenly stops her track by holding her by the hand.

“ WAHHH !! “

“ YAH ! GET BACK HERE ! “

“ YOU SHOULD SEE THIS ! “

“ AMBER .. FOR THE TENTH TIME .. PLEASE .. COME HERE. IT'S REALLY DANGEROUS THERE. “

 

Shouted Key way back from behind when he noticed his girlfriend was tip toed while looking down the scenery of the lake and

non-stop shrieking in excitement since she get out of the elevator just now.

 

While Amber was enjoying the view on her own, Key on the other side were sitting down at the corner far away from the

handrail while hugging his knee and non-stop praying for his and his girl' safety.

 

“ Let's do this Key. “

 

Key just shook his head repeatedly with his eyes tightly closed which only cause Amber to chuckle at him. She then slowly

walked towards him before sat herself right next to him.

 

“ Come on .. we're here. It's a waste for not trying it. “

“ I know .. but can you please give me some time to calm myself down first ? “

Amber just nodded to him before put her arm around him.

“ Don't worry .. You're with me. You'll be alright. “

 

That words seems slightly hurt to be heard by Key. It seems like the role had never been change and Amber always be the one

who being the toughest among them and he really hate the fact that he appears weak all the time. He had tried his hardest to

overcome his fears but seems like it was still not enough for Amber.

 

“ I'm a loser. “

He said under his breath but unfortunately she hears it.

“ Aniyo ... you're the coolest person that I've ever met. “

Immediately he turned to looked at her and only to met with her wide grinned on her face.

“ You only said that just to ease my heart ... “

“ I'm speaking from my heart .. “

 

He just turned away and hugged his knee tighter than before while keeping his head hung low. It's really hard to believe what

just she said when he know the fact since the beginning.

 

“ Don't you believe me ? “

She asked once she noticed his frowned face and only received a ' No ' from him.

“ I only gonna say this once and you better listen to it carefully. “

He nodded with his eyes still fixated on his shoes.

“ Do not think that I didn't know what you've done for me. “

“ What do you mean ? “

“ I know that you're trying your best to prove something to me .. “

There's a confusion on his face which only made Amber to chuckled at it.

“ Let's just say .. I happened to saw you at the amusement park back then, and was lucky enough to witnessed you're fighting

over your fear by trying those thrill rides. “

Key was bewildered with the fact that his secret already being discovered by Amber and nervously looking away from her,

avoiding her eyes.

“ I was only tried that out for fun .. and not for you. “

He tried his best to hide his embarrassment but was too late since Amber already noticed the tinged of pink color on his cheek

that started to get visible.

“ Tsk .. I have enough evidence that I get from Yoona unnie and the boys so stop trying to deny it will ya ? “

She then continue to say some more.

“ I was touched with your effort and you don't know hard I tried to held this happiness all by myself. I wish I can just hug you

but I don't want to ruined what you had started. But now, looking at you like this ... “

“ I'm sorry .. I had disappointed you. “

“ No, not that. I just felt bad inside for what have you done for me. “

She turned with her apologetic eyes looking at him which somehow made Key forgotten about his fears and troubles just now.

He then reached out for her left hand that was placed on top of her lap before gently caressed it.

“ I'm doing that on my own will .. so don't have to feel bad about it. “

“ Oh .. come on. We've been standing here for almost an hour. Can you please just get over it ? “

“ How can I when I can't even feel my feet ?! “

“ Look .. the ajusshi was tired waiting for you. “

She nagged at him while pointing at the staff who's been standing since then, watching for Keyber's quarrels.

When Amber noticed that Key might not gonna make a move, “ That's it ! I'll just do it alone. “

“ Yah ! Andwae ! You're doing it with me ! “

 

Key said with his shaking feet making the steps towards Amber, slowly, one step after another, with his hands securely holding

onto the handrails at the sides. His eyes automatically closed when he realized that he's getting closer towards the end and only

fluttered opened when he felt a hand reaching for his'.

 

“ See, it's not that hard right ? “

He gulped before take a quick glance at the scenery below him and turned back to looked at her seconds after that.

“ W-Whatever .. just .. let's finish it fast. “

“ Tsk .. you should said that an hour ago. “

 

Amber signaled the staff indicates that they were ready for the jump so hurriedly the crew gave a one last check up on their

equipment that was attached on them. One of the crew help Key and Amber with their position with Key's arm around her body

while her' was around his waist.

 

“ Remember to hug me tightly. Don't you ever dare to let me go. Arasso ? “

 

He was indeed scared at that moment but what concerns him the most is her safety. Anything bad that befall her is the last

thing he want it to happened to her. No, that was the thing that he don't want the most.

 

“ Dae. “

Said Amber as she embraced him more firmer than before.

“ Are you guys ready ? “

One of the staff asked them while they just nodded excitedly, well, it's Amber who being excited while Key just stiffen with his

hands wrapped around her body.

“ Whenever you guys ready .. On the count of three ... ok ? “ Said the staff to the couple.

“ Let's shout each other's name. “ Amber suggested which only received a nod from Key.

“ Ok .. I'm ready .. Why don't you count for me ... “

He gave another nod before took his one last deep breath and proceeded with, “ One .. Two .. “

He firmly embraced her body once again, trying to make sure that she was safe in his arms.

“ Three !! “

 

“ AMBER .. SARANGHAE ! “

 

“ KEY .. SARANGHAE ! “

 

And those words were echoed in the air as their feet started to leaved the flat base, feeling the strong breezes that touches their

skin, as their body go against the gravity, leading themselves towards the lake just 50m underneath them.

“ That was the first and the last. “

He stated clearly for her to hear.

“ We'll see. “

She chuckled before skipping her way towards his car, leaving Key who's looking frail at the back.

“ Key, hurry up. Unlock this door. “

She shouted from a far impatiently looking at Key which eventually only to made her boyfriend to get irritated.

He then fasten his pace while heading himself towards her.

“ What are you waiting for ? The door .. “

 

Her words abruptly stops when she noticed his infamous smirked while he, himself walked over to where she stood. Her eyes

widened and her face started to get flushed once he shorten the distance between them, making the back of her body to rested

at the car's door with his hands blocking at either sides of her'. Her heart was beating fast as he cradled her head with one of his

hands.

 

“ This is for being annoying to me. “

 

He leaned in, closing the gap between them but instead of freezing or running away which obviously there's 0% of chances for

her to be able to do that, she leaned in towards him as he kissed her.

 

“ I'm sorry but your punishment are too sweet for me. “

Said Amber with a small chuckled as they pulled away from the kiss.

“ Just be happy that I'm being nice to you today. “

He playfully pinched her nose while uttered those to her before leaved a quick peck on tip of her nose making her smiled

sheepishly at him.

“ You like it don't you ? “ He asked as playful he is as ever.

“ I'm sure my face shows everything. “

“ It is but I still want to hear it from you. “

This time, he was serious.

“ Eung .. I like it. “

He then gently the strand of her hairs with his eyes fixed looking at her almond eyes.

“ I love you. “

He uttered it almost heard like a whisper to her.

“ Me too. “

“ Me too ? Where's your I love you too ? “

“ Well, you know what I mean right ? “

“ No fair. Why did you always ruined the romance ? “

“ Merong ! “

Key and Amber, once they are a stranger to each other which then turned out to be a frinemies after the first meeting.

But, who could have known things will turned out so complicated when love comes in between them.

It took them for quite a while before they can finally get together

but at least it teaches them on keeping their faith for each other, for the one that they love.

Though quarreling and making each other annoyed cannot be separated from them,

the hardly care, because they know as long as there is still love for each other,

everything will turned out alright for them.

 

Key and Amber, once they are a frienemies but now they are a lover and no one could ruin this again,

hoping for this great feelings to grows for more day by day.
