Day 23

 

It's been almost a month now but Key still stays unconscious on his bed. The only changes on him is just the bandages on

his body were already reduced by a half which only left on his forehead and a simple dressing on his right arm. Other

than that it's still the same including the part where Amber become his faithful companions especially at night where

she will quietly sneaked into his room without the knowledge of her friends, well, at least not always since sometimes she

will get busted by Victoria for coming back home late, just like right now. 

 

“ Amber Liu ! Not again ! “

 

Victoria happen to woke up early on that day to finish up her assignment but she was surprised to see Amber tip toed

towards her room.

 

“ Hehe .. unnie .. “

“ It's 5 in the morning missy. “

“ Sorry .. but I won't promise to not doing it again .. hehe .. “

With that she quickly dashed into her room leaving Victoria alone at the living room.

“ That girl .. Aish ! It seems like a habit to her now days. “

Victoria just shook her head with her eyes still fixated on Amber's door.

“ But .. I'm sure gonna act the same if I'm in her shoes .. “

Day 25

 

Unlike her usual days where she will spends her time in the hospital, Amber right now were lying weakly on her bed.

She were diagnosed with a fever and also an excessive lethargy.

 

“ She's not having a sufficient rest for her body, and she also tends to exposed her body to the cold. “

That's what the doctor told the girls where she only then received a glare from Victoria.

As the doctor walked away from the room, “ Told ya .. It was because of her consistent night duty .. “

 

And obviously Luna were referring to her usual night out where she will spends most of her nights with visiting Key.

 

“ Key oppa just don't know how lucky he is to have someone like Amber unnie that always care for him .. “

Sulli spoke smilingly at Amber.

“ Yeah .. she's been sacrificed herself just for him .. “

Krystal added which made Amber to giggle weakly at her, slightly felt embarrassed being praised like that.

 

 

Yes, the rest of the gang already knew about Amber's feelings towards Key and of course unintentionally when Luna

once again slipped about it to the girls. It's not her fault though, she was scared by the sudden curiosity attack from her

dongsaeng on that moment. And when the two of them knows the truth, they quickly spread the news to the remaining

boys which is Minho and Taemin. So basically, Amber's little secret were not a secret anymore well at least it remained as

secret from others knowledge.

 

 

“ See, unnie, they are being so supportive towards me why can't you ? “

Amber pouted at Victoria who's nagging at her since the doctor left.

“ Fine. Whatever ! Just have your rest now. I don't you to become even more sick later on. Girls .. let's leave Amber now. “

The girls just nodded to her before following Victoria from behind.

“ Get well soon unnie .. so that you can continue to accompany Key oppa .. hehe “

Luna give a winked before rushed out of the room.

It's been two days already and seems like Amber's condition doesn't turned out any better than yesterday which made

the gang especially the mom of the house to get worried.

 

“ If you're not getting better by tomorrow, I will bring you to the hospital right away. “

Victoria said while placing the wet towel on Amber's forehead.

“ I'm sure I will get better if you stop with the nagging. “

Amber mocked her which cause her to get a light flicked on her forehead by Victoria.

“ Umma .. I'm still a patient. “

Amber pouted cutely which made Taemin and Sulli to giggled at her.

“ Noona, I know what makes your condition worse. “

Taemin said smiling at Amber while Amber just furrowed her brows.

“ She missed Key hyung so badly don't you think ? “

He continue while looking at Victoria who's nodded at him.

“ Y-yah ! When did I said that ? I'm not .. “

“ Aish ! Unnie .. you can't even spend your day without seeing him even once .. hehe .. “

Sulli backed Taemin up which made Amber to blushed badly and just quickly covered her face with the blanket.

“ Yah ! You guys are too much ! This is why I didn't reveal my secret to you. I knew I will only ended up hearing all of

your tease and mocks. “

She said slightly annoyed with them while the rest just let out a chuckle at her.

 

 

 

The next day was fortunately turned out better for Amber. She can feel the energy back into her body and because of that

she decided to give a quick visit to Key since she know she can't cope with her body for that long because she just recover

from the sickness. It would be really helpful if somebody can give her a ride to the hospital but seems like none of them

were free on that day.

 

Victoria had to go early to the office for the presentation that she had prepared for the past few weeks.

Jonghyun and Minho were busy preparing for their upcoming university's entrance exam while Luna, Sulli, Taemin and

Krystal, all of them were still at the school. She really want to call Dean, her driver but she shrugged that idea off when she

thought it would be a troublesome for him to travel that far just for picking up her. So she had no choice but to ride her

Baby Yamaha towards the hospital.

 

 

 

It was 12 noon and her stomach started to grumble but she just decides to take her lunch right after she saw her love one.

As she open the door, she was surprised to see his girlfriend at his side.

 

“ Amber .. come in. “

Yoona smiled genuinely like how usually she will do whenever she saw her favorite dongsaeng.

“ Unnie .. you're early ? “

 

Amber asked because she knew it too well that usually Yoona won't be here at this hour since she had a class to attend

at her university. Yoona took the entrance exam earlier than Jonghyun and Minho so she has started the class earlier than

them which makes her the senior among them.

 

“ Looks like you know my schedule well than me .. hehe .. I don't have class in the morning but I will around 2 .. so I

decided to stop by here since I know I can't make it this evening. “

She cleared Amber's confusion while patted the seat next to her to sign Amber to sit on it.

“ I heard you're having a fever for couple past few days .. are you feeling better now ? “

She asked while putting her hand on her forehead just to make sure that Amber is alright.

“ Dae .. much better. That's why I'm here .. hehe .. “

“ Sorry for not visiting you. I'm really busy these days. “

“ Nah .. I'm fine unnie. “

“ I noticed that you often visits him. “

“ Errm .. I just had free time to do so. “

Amber retorts nervously while looking at Yoona who seems had a slight mischievous smile on her face.

“ See, this is why he need to treat you nicely. “

Yoona said with a chuckle while looking at Key.

“ I keep reminding him about this but he always took it lightly. “

“ Hehe .. I was no better than him, unnie .. so don't blame him in this matter .. we are just comfortable like this. “

“ Hehe .. maybe you're right .. anyway .. I found this in his locker. Did you know who own all of this stuff ? Because I'm

sure it was not Key's. “

 

Yoona took out a book, an iPod, a nail clipper and a sketch book from the locker and showed it to Amber who just stunned

looking at those stuff.

 

* How did I forget about those things ?! *

 

“ Amber ? “

Yoona shook her body which make her startled.

“ Huh ? Owh .. that .. err .. I bet it belongs to the gang. They must have left it here. “

“ Really ? Owh well .. I'll just leave it here then. “

“ That's the wise choice .. hehe “

Amber just looked at the stuff being put back into the locker by Yoona after that.

 

* Note for myself, take that things out right after unnie left. *

 

 

[ Flashback ]

 

Amber managed to visit Key on the night before she caught the fever and she also brought a lot of stuff with her just for

him. The first thing that she brought is a book which full with short stories in it. She just felt like it will be a bit boring to

just visit and do nothing other than just talk to him, so, she came out with this idea for that night.

 

 

“ Thanks to Luna I able to read this for you. So which story that you want to hear ? Should I choose it for you ? “

She took a glance at Key before shifted back her eyes on the book.

“ Butterflies In Love ? Sounds interesting right ? I choose this one ok ? “

She took a glance at him again before browsing the pages until it reached to page no 22, where the story begin.

She took a breath.

“ Let's start .. There are two butterflies who were in love .. cute isn't it ? Keke .. One day, they decided to play hide and

seek .. During the game,

 

Boy butterfly : Let’s play a small game between us.

Girl butterfly : Ok

Boy butterfly : The one who sits in this flower tomorrow morning is the one that loves the other one more.

Girl butterfly : Ok 

 

“ Next morning, the boy butterfly waits for the flower to open so that he can sit in it before the girl butterfly does. After

waiting for some time, the flower finally opened. Guess what did he see? “

Amber leaned in towards Key before asking,

“ So, what do you think he saw ? Hehe .. Am I being annoying ? I should just continue right ? Keke. “

 

Amber looked back at the book and read the remaining story silently trying to figure out the story by herself before she

read it to Key but surprisingly it made her to tearing up.

 

“ Key .. “

She looked at him while sobbing.

“ Do you know what happen to them ? “

Still sobbing while continuing reading the story for him,

 

“ He saw the dead girl butterfly inside the flower. The boy butterfly was shocked ! The girl butterfly had stayed inside the

flower all night so that she can fly to him and tell him how much she loves him when the flower opens in the morning ...

that was so sad Key. “

 

Amber couldn't believe that she was tearing up because of the story. She really didn't thought that it will be a sad ending

for the story that she choose.

 

“ I shouldn't read this for you right ? It made me crying badly .. “

She wiped her tears after that.

“ Let's choose something funny ok ? “

 

With that Amber continue to read another story which was gladly able to lighten up the mood in the room although it

seems like only Amber who's enjoying it while Key, well he just laid unconscious there.

 

“ Enough with the bedtime story .. you need to rest. So how about a lullaby before you sleep huh ? “

 

She took out an iPod from her bag and plugged in the earphone on his right ear while putting another one into her left

ear. She choose ' Someday ' by U-Kiss for him tonight and sing along to the song softly enough only for him to hear it

while playing with his fingers. After the first song ended, she took out the nail clipper from her bag and start cutting off

his nails which she realized getting longer day by day.

 

“ I know it's useful keeping this thing inside my bag. “

She chuckle while her hands still working on cutting his nails, careful enough not to get him any injury.

She took about 10 minutes to finish up all 10 fingers of him including his 10 toes too.

“ There .. much better. “

She washed her hands before took out the earphone from his ears.

“ You can sleep now. “

She caressed his hair gently before left a quick peck on his forehead.

 

So, the last thing that she brought is her own sketchbook. She took it out and begin to sketch his figure in front of her.

Although it just a simple cartoon sketch she still feel satisfied with it and even wrote ' Key Bongbong ' on top of it which

then only made her chuckle all by herself.

 

[ End Of Flashback ]

 

“ Amber .. hello dongsaeng .. “

Amber was startled when she felt her body being shook.

“ Huh ? “

“ You're spacing out ? “

“ D-dae ? Hehe .. I just thought of something .. “

“ Yes .. obviously you're in a deep thought. “

Yoona said while packing up her stuff.

“ Are you going ? “

Amber asked while looking at her.

“ Yes. It's almost 1.30 pm now .. I'm afraid I'm gonna be late for school. I'll see you later ok ? “

 

Amber just nodded to her while keeping her eyes on Yoona who's heading her way out of the room but not before she

leaved a quick peck on Key's cheek. Yoona was only few steps away from the door when she turned back to looked at

Amber,

 

“ By the way .. that was a cute drawing that you got there .. “

She pointed at the sketchbook which was placed on top of the locker which made Amber to startled looking at it.

“ It does looks like Key anyway .. you did portraits him well Amber .. hehe “

With that Yoona give a quick winked at Amber before walked out of the room leaving Amber once again frozen looking at

the door until she finally realized the situation.

“ OMG ! SHE KNEW IT WAS MINE !! “

She shouts a bit loud which made the nurse to came into the room immediately.

“ I'm sorry .. Is everything alright ? “

She asked worriedly at Amber who's already looks red like a tomato.

“ Huh? No .. Everything is under control. Don't worry .. hehe “

She bowed repeatedly to the nurse for making noises just now.

“ Dae. Just call me if you need anything. “

The nurse gave a last bow before walked out.

“ Babo Amber !! “

She hit herself as her own punishment.

“ Aaah .. I'm so embarrassed with Yoona unnie. “

Author's Note :

 

I was browsing on the internet while randomly search for the short story

and happens for the Butterflies In Love to came out.

Believe me, I end up tearing up because of it.

* I'm quite sensitive .. huhu *

Just like Amber, I was expected a happy ending but it turned out oppositely.

So, I thought of sharing this story and the best way that I can think of is through my fiction.

Ha-ha .. At first I just want to post it under the ' BLOG ' 

but then, I changed my mind when an idea popped in my head and made it part of my story.

I'll try my best to improve it ok ...
