CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO / Midnight Conversations
For your eyes only (I show you my heart)
It was 12:55 midnight, and Joohyun was unable to fall into slumber no matter how many times he shuts his eyes.
He hates suffering from insomnia, but then again, even if he wasn’t insomniac, he would stay up all night instead of sleeping early.
“Big bro, I can’t sleep at all. You’re breathing too loud.” Joy muttered drowsily.
“I’m not breathing too loud. Your face just happens to be too close to mine, silly.” Joohyun chuckled as he lightly jabbed Joy’s forehead.
The ten year old girl giggled faintly, eyes slowly fluttering open, meeting her brother’s wide ones.
“Oppa, what do you love most about Seungwan-unnie?” she asked out of the blue.
Upon hearing that question, Joohyun looked up at the ceiling which was full of glow-in-the-dark stars and moons. It had been there since he was a child, and he didn’t bother to remove them as he grew up.
After a short while, his gaze shifted back to his sister.
“What I love most about Seungwan is, her radiant soul, and her positive attitude towards life.” Joohyun replied without missing a beat. “I also love that she’s imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed which makes her a beautiful person.”
Joy broke into a big, bright grin. Whenever the topic was about her brother’s girlfriend, a cheeky grin would never fail to paint her lips.
“What I admire the most about Wan-unnie is, how she manages to smile no matter how hurt she is.” Joy said even though the boy didn’t ask.
