GUYS, I MESSED UP. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE NEXT CHAPTER. OMG.

Sniffling from the long walk in the cold, Yiseul finally stands before her dorm room. She grabs her keys for the lock before staring down at her bare hands and it reminds her that she never got the gloves back from Mina. Sighing, she thinks about how the treks to classes will be from now on until they’re returned. 

“Why are you just standing there?” Hanbin suddenly pops up beside her. He had long since returned to the dorms and changed into more comfortable clothing. 

“I can’t believe I forgot my gloves,” she says softly. 

He couldn’t really tell if she was that devastated. Her expression didn’t reveal much. “I’m not surprised that you did.” He has come to learn that she can be quite absentminded at times– more than half the times. 

She returns to her previous task and opens the door to her dorm.  

“So, are you Mina’s friend or is there a friendship because your mom works for her family?”

Startled by the sudden question, Yiseul turns back to look at Hanbin but can’t find her words. Her situation was one that never came up in conversation and now that it has, she didn’t know how to respond. 

“I’m just a curious person,” he reasons.

In the midst of taking off her jacket, she answers, “My mom is their family’s maid so Mina and I have always been together.” She decides to be honest. 

“So, you’re like her maid here.”

“It’s not anything like that,” she responds. 

Hanbin leans up against the doorway, waiting for a clearer answer from the girl. 

“It’s just the way things are,” Yiseul adds as she meets his eyes. 

And, he doesn’t receive one but nonetheless, he nods his head and accepts the answer. For now, he’ll leave it as be even though his question was either a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ since the beginning.

“Good morning, dorm head.”

Yiseul turns her attention away from her breakfast to see Donghyuk walking into the kitchen with a smile upon his face. So, there is someone who could look that cheerful here. So far, she hasn’t seen anyone with that kind of expression. And she liked it. 

“Morning,” she responds.

After their greeting, Donghyuk resumed his initial goal of getting his stomach filled as well. He was digging into his cabinet of snacks and food products when Junhoe suddenly appears through the doorway. 

“I’m so hungry I could eat a whole horse,” he mutters as he rushes to find food. 

“There’s no way that you could,” Donghyuk responds without removing his attention from his task. 

Junhoe stops what he’s doing and starts chuckling. “That never gets boring.”

“What doesn’t?” the other boy asks. 

Junhoe looks in Yiseul’s direction and gestures towards Donghyuk. 

“Did I miss a joke?” Donghyuk follows up. 

Junhoe looked like he was going to explain but decided last minute that it would somehow interfere with his fun. Instead, he calls out to Yiseul.

“Dorm head, why don’t you make us American breakfast sometime?” he asks. 

“It wouldn’t work out.”

“Why not?”

“Everyone has different tastes and there’s no guarantee that you all would like my cooking.”

“We should try it first, right?”

“Dorm head wouldn’t be able to cook so much,” Donghyuk interjects.

Junhoe smacks his lips together. “I guess you’ll ruin the fun anyway.”
