“Oh… okay,” Yiseul responds as Chanhyuk’s expression urges her to do so. At that moment, she didn’t think he would accept any answer besides an agreement.

“I’ll meet you at the elevator in two minutes,” he adds before rushing towards his room to get ready.

“This happens at least once every two weeks– she’ll come back,” Seungyoon says and while successfully breaking her from her daze.

“Are you getting ready, dorm head?!” A shout leaves the room she had watched him disappear into.

It hasn’t been two minutes yet but sighing, Yiseul makes up her mind. “Good night, Seungyoon.” She walks away and towards her own dorm room to prepare to brave the cold as well.

Hanbin, Bobby, and Junhoe had yet to move from their spots in front of her room. They look up, seeing her head back in their direction.

“Maybe her reaction was just delayed?” Junhoe mutters quietly and in anticipation.

“Excuse me,” she merely says and once more, she crushes his hope.

The three are nudged aside and she walks in. Still stuck there, the three watch Yiseul move around her room to find her coat and scarf while their masterpiece lay intact and ignored.

“Where are you going?” Hanbin finds himself voicing his curiosity.

“Chanhyuk and I are going to look for Suhyun.”

Hanbin stares at her. Chanhyuk seriously talked her into doing that? It wasn’t even convincing from his point of view.

“She’s probably at her friend’s place,” he says while she merely passes him and the other two to meet Chanhyuk who’s coming down the hall. When it doesn’t look like she’s going to rethink her decision, he adds, “It’s freezing outside.”

“Chanhyuk, if you want to freeze to death, do it by yourself,” Bobby comments as the boy meets up with their dorm head.

“Suhyun isn’t your sister, you wouldn’t care,” Chanhyuk mutters.

Ignoring the three, Yiseul locks her door and walks off with the worried older brother.

At the sight of their retreating backs, Bobby clicks his tongue. “I somehow feel bad for her.”

“Like the previous dorm heads, she’ll learn,” Junhoe merely responds.

The brisk air felt painful against the skin of her face that was left exposed and trekking through the two feet of snow didn’t make the trip any faster.

“Where do you think she could have gone?” Yiseul questions, hoping this search will end on a good note and mostly, quickly as well.

“She must be with that new boyfriend of hers,” he says before taking the lead.

The trudge towards the target dorm building is predictably awful but upon arriving, Yiseul only hopes relief is waiting on the other side.

Without much trouble, Chanhyuk finds the room and knocks upon the door. Yiseul basks in the warmth and pulls out her phone to find that it is already close to midnight. And once looking up, the door opens to reveal the boyfriend and she realizes that he was the one Suhyun was walking with that day in the library.

By the way, how did Chanhyuk know the boyfriend was going to be here?

“Where’s Suhyun?”

“Suhyun?” The boy’s eyebrows shot up, surprised by the mention of the name.

“Is she hiding here?”

“What– no.”

“Are you making her lie to me?”

“Listen, I haven’t seen her or been contacted by her in two days,” he reveals.

“If you’re lying–,”

Before Chanhyuk could finish his threat, the boy pulls his door wide open. “You’re welcome to search the room if you want.”

Silently, Yiseul agrees that it didn’t seem like the boy is up to tricks. And, she suddenly remembers Hanbin’s words before they left. “Her friend…,”

“Huh?” Chanhyuk looks in her direction.

“Who is her closest friend?” Yiseul clarifies.

***

Uselessly, they have walked all over campus on such a cold night. Yiseul lifts her fingers so that she could blow her warm breath onto it. Even with gloves on, they are frozen stiff.

Looking at her phone again, it pains her to see that normally, she would already be in bed and two hours into her sleep at this point in time. Looking up, she finds Suhyun and Chanhyuk still arguing in front of the dorm room.

Hanbin was right after all.

Suhyun was hiding at a friend’s dorm. And it was easy to navigate through as this was also Yiseul’s previous do

Chapter 62: Wow! I finally get to finish reading this breath of fresh air. I love your style.
All through the earlier chapters, I was chanting girl stand up for yourself like a mantra. I knew it wasn't easy to just up and switch. It took time, but I'm glad she achieved it in the end. Thank you, for this refreshing read.

Chapter 57: The way Hanbin gives Yiseul a space and choice for her to decide shows how much he respects her.

All this time, she can't say no and I can't blame her for that. I hope they can leave safely and live how they want to.
