Chapter Seven

Dara POV

July 2, 2015

Dara was peacefully sitting enjoying her breakfast when someone sat across her and started to eat off her food. She sighed and looks up at the goofy kid in front of her gave her a pouty smile, "Why is it that you seem to think it's a good idea to eat off my food?"

Kang Seungyoon had his chopsticks between his lips and he gave his noona a puffed cheeked smiled hiding the fact that had a mouthful of food. "Because you love me, noona?"

She narrows her eyes at him, "I think today is one of those days that i doubt that i even like you."

He just offered her another smile and shrugs knowing that Dara never holds out a grudge.

Not a second later, Jang Kiyong comes out of nowhere and hits Seungyoon on the back of the head so hard that Seungyoon had to make sure to not bang his forehead on the table by holding on to the table, "Wheo, hyung!" He cried. He rubbed the back of his neck.

Kiyong ignored Seungyoon and sat next to Dara handed a plate of two boiled eggs to her. "Here yah go..."

"Oh my god! kiyongie!" She clapped her hands excitedly and grabbed one bitting a mouthful.

Seunghoon was about to grab another one when Kiyong slapped his hand off. "Chincharo, hyung mwoya!" He demanded stubbornly.

Kiyong shrugged, "Well if you keep eating Dara's food without asking then you don't deserve anything."

Seungyoon just squinted and crosses his arms across his chest, "That's not fair. Besides, why can you call Dara-noona without honorifics anyways?"

Kiyong shrugs and takes a drink from Dara's glass, "Cause I'm cooler than you."

Dara nods, "And he doesn't steal my food because your too lazy to get your own food..."

Seungyoon blinks at Dara and then puts his head down, he moaned exhaustingly "I am soooo tired. I haven't had proper sleep in three days..."'

Dara pouted and felt bad. She knew that WINNER is bound to make a comeback either late this year or early next year and the boys have been busy with their solo projects lately (Jinwoo and Taehyun with their drama then Mino with his Show me the Money) that only Seunghoon and Seungyoon have had most of the time to work on their album. And two members working means more work than usual. "Awww, poor dongsaeng. Here take the last one," She offered as she pushed the plate to Seungyoon.

Seungyoon sat up and smiled after cheering, "You're the best noona!" He said after he shoved the whole egg in his mouth.

Kiyong just shook his head, "Dara-ah, I am not so sure if you're nice or gullible."

Dara turns dramatically towards Kiyong and sticks her tongue out at him, "I'd like to think I'm nice."

Kiyong and Seungyoon looked at each other then grinned, "Gullible." The boys said in unison.

She widened her eyes, "Yah!"

The boys laughed.

"Fine be that way," She crossed her arms across her chest stubbornly.

Kiyong stopped laughing and pinched her cheek, "Aww but it's true though."

Dara puffed her cheeks so he couldn't pinch and started mumbling about how being too nice doesn't mean gullible.

Kiyong ignored Dara's mumbling but he couldn't help but just smile, "How's the album going?"

Dara for some reason blanked out and didn't pay attention because the hair on the back of her neck started to stand up causing her to shiver. Her heart reacted by fluttering more than she'd like, she already knew who just walked in the cafeteria and probably was watching her. She turns to the direction where she could feel someone staring at her, and there he is. 

Jiyong is sitting with Youngbae and Kush-oppa. He seemed too interested in his food than talking to Youngbae and Kush-oppa. She knew why too, BIGBANG's new song, Sober just got hit with a plagiarism accusation this morning. She already talked to Seungri and Seunghyun about it, they don't seem too worried about it because they knew they did no such thing, the k-nietzens are just out to get them for no reason at all but she knows how Jiyong is when it comes to accusations like this, especially since this isn't his first time. Eventually, he tries to be far too careful that's why it takes forever for him to release any songs or album. She hoped he's all right. He has been in a lot of pressure lately so she hopes this won't add on the stress he feels.

Even though, she doesn't really talk to Jiyong at all. She still hopes the best for him, she isn't bitter about the past anymore.

Then Jiyong looks up from his plate and his light brown eyes instantly meets hers as if he knew she was looking at him.

This was the first time they had interacted with each other since he had sent her the text message that If You was written for her. She didn't even go to the studio yesterday as to avoid him.

What is he expecting me to say to him... It still doesn't change anything. He's still dating her and I'm happily dating as well. She thought to herself.

His lips moved smiling slightly as if he could read Dara's thoughts or maybe can see the conflict in her face that he could always read when she's baffled by his actions.

"Dara-ah?" A far voice voice had broken into her bubble. It also seemed like it wasn't the first time he had said her name.

She blinked and turned Seungyoon was talking on the phone while Kiyong was smiling at her. "Miane..." She said.

"I've been talking to you for a minute now, what are you--- oh." His smile dropped as he realize why she seemed far off. Jiyong was talking to Kush and Youngbae not even giving off a slight clue that Jiyong was just staring at Dara two seconds ago.

Dara's heart dropped to her stomach as she could see the hurt in Kiyong's eyes that he's trying to hide. She bit her lip, she remembers this exact expression he had when she had told Kiyong she was already dating someone...

Dara couldn't help but pout even after she posted her SNS about being today as her last day of shooting We Broke Up. She had so much fun these past few weeks that she didn't want it to end.

"Updating your SNS again?" Kiyong sat next to her on the pavement she is sitting on. He nudged her shoulder when she refused to respond and now is dramatically sobbing. He shakes his head and puts an arm on her shoulder and shook her slightly, "It's okay Dara-ah, I'm sure with the show ending doesn't mean our friendship is over. It's only the beginning."

She doesn't flitch at his no use of honorifics. She always sees him as someone the same age as her than someone 8 years younger, she doesn't know why. She sighs finally letting go of her dramatics and leaned on his shoulder, "You better come see me still... And don't forget about me!" She moaned and hugged him.

"You are crazy... Why would I forget about you?" There was a firm intonation in his voice that had a hidden meaning in his words.

She notices the seriousness in his tone and looks up at him, curiously. "You better, I'll be at YGE all the time either voice lessons or more acting classes."

He pursed his lips together, "Well, with that busy schedule in your hands, do you think you'd have time for me?" His voice sounded so low and sad.

She laughed, "Ofcourse! I'll always have time for you!" She exclaimed excitedly. She was expecting him to smiled but she got more confused when he looked distressed, like he has some inner conflict within himself. Her eyebrows met, "Kiyongie?" She asks worriedly. She even put a hand on his forehead to check if he is sick because he paled all of a sudden.

He swallowed hard and was looking at her hand that was linked at his arm, then he grabbed her hand and linked her fingers unto his. He cleared his throat as words refused to leave his lips.

"Kiyong?" She ask nervously. Her heart started beating in her chest heavily.  She had a tiny feeling she knows why he's acting like this and she hoped and prayed that she's wrong.

He tightens the hold on her hand, and took a deep breath. "Dara-ah i was wondering---"

"I have a boyfriend." She immediately said in panic without even thinking. She's seen the signs so many times on her guy friends that its impulse for her to respond this way. She has always been told so many times by her members that she needs to stop being too clingy to guys because they'd always get the wrong idea. In the four years she dated Jiyong she had a few of her co-stars or guy friends confess to her. She rarely has guy friends because of this reason. Well for one thing Jiyong is also an irrational jealous person.

He lets go of her hand and moves away a bit, as much as he could but she was still holding on to his arm. "Oh," he grumbled under his breath.

She felt guilty when she could see the pain in his eyes. She wanted nothing than to comfort him but what else could she do? She does have a boyfriend. "I mean, it's still fairly new so I really don't announce it." She said. They have known each other for years and they've been inseparable almost since mid 2014, the relationship was never declared official till a month ago. (Though, the 2ne1 girls calls him the boyfriend since they do almost couple things together but without the title.)

"Ah," he said uncomfortably not really wanting to hear anymore.

She bites her lip and wanted to yell at herself. She doesn't really want to lose him as a fried because of her faults. And she felt really terrible, that she started to talk really quickly due to her nerves, "I really am sorry if I made it seem like. Oh I don't... Maybe I am just crazy and just randomly told you i have a boyfriend. And now you are going to stop talking to me because you think I am this person who just assumes these things." She took a breath and continued to spit out more words, "I just don't want to lose you as a friend because... Yeah. I really should stop talking now because i think i am making things more worse."

Kiyong just stared at her blankly trying to process what she had said, she talked really fast it took him for a while to decipher. He blinked and the next second he laughed. He pinched her cheeks, "I am sorry too for reading into things too much." He tried to hide the pain in his eyes with a smile but it was still too obvious.

Dara felt obligated to explain herself, "Plus it's kinda hard to just randomly mention that i have a boyfriend you know, Walls have ears and with how dating scandals go these days. It ends in break up when the nieitzens find out about it."
