Key’s breathing is slow, each breath has a long pause. He has no control of it, each break feels longer than the last. He feels as though he’s going to suffocate. He notices how warm he is. He can feel a heavy limb over his torso, under his arm. He notices the breath against his neck, am I dreaming? The bed shakes violently, he can feel the limb rip away from him. He listens to his furniture rattle, the loud stomping and scuffing against the ground makes it seem as though there is a second pair of feet.

“What are you doing here?” Minho hisses.

“Oh, did I wake you? How rude of me,” another voice responds, “you’ve been ignoring me all day.”

Kibum hears something smack against the wall, “I told you not to try to contact me while I’m here!”

Slap! “Don’t look at me like that, you deserved it. You’re much too hostile around him. You act like I was going to strangle him in his sleep.”

Minho takes in an anxious breath, “I know what you’re capable of. Don’t joke about that.”

The second voice laughs, “It’s why I keep you so close.” “You know too much,” the voice whispers.

Cloth rustles, “what do you want, Jinki?”

“Don’t play dumb, you know why I’m here. You have other responsibilities. You know Key isn’t the only person on this planet right? I need you to come with me,” the voice called Jinki answers.

“Don’t say that,” Minho snaps.

“Say what?” Jinki inquires. Silence. “You’re no fun.”

“You couldn’t wait until morning?” Minho complains.

“Next time don’t ignore me,” Jinki scolds.

“I’m not going to respond when I’m with him. You know that,” Minho raises his voice.

“As is he’d notice,” Jinki scoffs.

“He’s not stupid, he’ll notice,” Minho retorts. “Why are you here?”

Jinki groans, annoyed, “You didn’t answer me. You weren’t in your usual dwelling, my best guess was you’d be here. Strangely enough, I was right. Why are you here?”

“That’s none of your business,” Minho answers coldly.

“You’re so terse today. You should really mind your manners. It’s interesting to see how quickly you’ve progressed with him. Already sleeping over,” Key hears footsteps move closer to his bedside, “so, this is him. You sure know how to choose them, old friend.”

Kibum hears a grunt and feet being dragged back a small distance, “don’t get close to him.”

Jinki sighs, “You know you won’t be able to keep doing this right?” Silence. “Does he know that?” Jinki asks.

“No,” Minho’s voice sounds gloomy.

“That won’t end well,” Jinki chuckles.

“Can’t we postpone it? I need more time with him,” Minho requests.

“No, I already know what’s going to happen. I know, you know what’s going to happen too. It’s not going to work,” Jinki replies.

“It’s different this time,” Minho tries to persuade.

“Is it?” Jinki sounds unconvinced.

“Yes,” Minho growls.

“You never seem to learn. There are some things you can’t fix stupid! Just drop it!” Jinki barks back. “You have a deadline. Work with the time you’ve got,” the footsteps move further away, “time to stop playing house, it’s unbecoming of you. We have work to do.” Silence. Key listens to his crisp sheets move. Lips press against his cheek. Kibum is left with Minho’s scent.
