"Here. I managed to bring this up for you." Chanyeol said, passing his colleague two sandwiches and a cup of coffee. "It's not much though. Sorry." he sheepishly gave a grin as he scratched his nape.

"No no, it'll be fine." Seohun beamed back at the other who took his seat, evidently thankful at the warm gesture. "Thank you."

Their cubicle was situated by the side of their CEO's office. And, other employees don't usually come to the CEO personally. So, the atmosphere tends to get lifeless and dull. Seohun was glad Chanyeol was situated next to her. That way, she could still stay sane while handling the tasks given.

She huffed again as she looked to the pile of assignments undone. How was she supposed to finish both piles due Friday, in three days time.

Just three weeks ago, she was told to take up the job 'offer'. Well, 'offer', wasn't really a good choice of word. It was more like, she had no other option.

"Do you need me to help?" Chanyeol asked, a concern look etched on his face. "That's quite a heap."

Seohun shook her head, waving the other off. "No, I don't think I should trouble you. You've your own work to do." she chimed, jerking her chin towards his own work. "Besides, Ka-, I mean The CEO'll kick up a storm if he finds out." she said, waving both her hands in frustration.

Chanyeol laughed and nodded in agreement. "He can be such a pain." he added in a hushed tone. "But you really shouldn't skip meals. It's not healthy."

The brunette shrugged, knowing it was true. But what can she do, the amount of work Kai gave her was infinite. Though she doubted her assignments were important, Seohun couldn't afford to waste precious time. Who knows what Kai'll do.

She chuffed and reached down for her bag. She popped in the pills she managed to retrieve from it before forcefully swallowing them down, gulping the coffee afterwards.

She looked at the bottle in her hands and wondered to herself.

She wondered how long - how long exactly would she be able to keep this from Kai. They were living in the same house now, surely sooner or later he'd find out.

She's watched a couple of dramas before, those with very cliché endings. Where the heroine left the hero because of a terminal illness, only rushing back to him after she went through surgery and all. And they'd live happily ever after once lead actor finds out the truth.

But those only happen on screens. Rarely in real life.

She shoved the bottle back into her bag, simpering humourlessly at her ironic behaviour.

She wanted to live; but she's rejecting the offer of a well and drug-free life. Surgery was always a better option than this, but not when she wanted to keep all of her memories intact. She couldn't risk losing any of them.

Memories of her parents.

Her brother, Yifan.

Her bestfriend, Luhan.

The times she has spent with them, in both happiness and sadness.

She wants all of her memories to stay flawless. She wants to forever remember, their love and gratitude towards her.

And last but not least, her lover.

Kai.

She wouldn't want to forget him.

Ever.

"Seohun ssi?"

The brunette snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her name being called. She turned to her right only to see Chanyeol staring at her with curious eyes.

"Are you sick?"

The former froze, subsequently shaking her head. "Wh-what?" she asked, mentally slapping herself for stammering.

Chanyeol eyed her skeptically, "Well, you've been taking pills since day one you got here." he stated factually. "Are you sure you're, ok?"

"Bet you I am, they're just vitamins." Seohun told, beaming. "For females." she quickly added when she noticed the latter was about to ask for one.

The male still looked doubtful, but he shrugged anyway, going back to his own work as he muttered a small, 'alright'.

The former let out a relieved sigh inwardly, making a mental note to be more discreet.

Minutes later, the elevator let out a faint 'ding!' sound, indicating that someone had arrived.

"Excuse me, is this Kai's office?" a flat voice chimed.

Seohun looked up to see who it was, frowning when she saw that the stranger wasn't even facing them - but the door in front of him. The male had shades on, and even then, he looked pretty familiar. She thought for a moment but shrugged afterwards, letting Chanyeol handle the visitor.

"Yes. Yes it is." the secretary said, smiling in return as he stood up.

The brunette heard the stranger hum in response before she heard light footsteps walked to the door. Like flash, Chanyeol went up to block the door of his boss.

"Wait. I don't think the CEO has any appointment today," Chanyeol stated. "Do you have one, sir?"

The brunette guessed that the unknown man must've shook his head when she heard Chanyeol request for him to leave.

"Is he really that busy to forget that he has an appointment with me," Seohun heard the other gloat. "And not the other way around."

She frowned at the stranger's retort and decided to tell him to leave herself.

"Sir, you can't just barge in here and-" her jaw dropped when the tall male turned to look at her, removing his shades. "W-Woobin?"

"Seohun?" the other frowned, mouth agape in disbelief. "Oh Seohun?"

"It's Kim Seohun, actually." another voice said as the door to the CEO's office opened. "My door isn't exactly all soundproof, you know."

Kai walked out of his office, hugging the guy, Woobin, as soon as he let the words slip out of his lips.

Woobin had his hands in the pocket of his jeans afterwards, scoffing playfully at the other. "What? You two are hitched already?" he questioned, turning back to the brunette. "I was only gone for three years, couldn't you guys like wait for me or something?"

Seohun shifted uneasily in her position - searching for the correct words to say to her high school friend. Well, they weren't friends to begin with.
