Seohun took dainty steps forward, a foot at a time as she tried to maintain her balance on the metal railings of the track. Kai watched as the former stretched out both of her arms to steady her posture. He followed closely by her side, catching her hand whenever she wobbled a little.

Both of them had just returned from school and Seohun still looked surprisingly fresh in her navy blouse and white skirt that stops just an inch above her knee. Kai on the other hand, still looked charming - but maybe not that fresh.

He was wearing a red top with black jeans, and a slightly irritated expression on his face, though he wasn't really feeling so.

"Ya, Oh Seohun!" he grumbled when Seohun lost her balance again. "They're pebbles and rock here! Can you please get off before-"

"Oh, come on Kai!" she cut him off, still not diverting her gaze from her feet, being careful of each step. "I won't fall, stop being such a nag-"

And as if on cue, she missed her footing and did a little pivot while expecting to meet the rugged ground afterwards. Instead though, she felt two strong arms wrap around her lithe form. Slowly opening her eyes, she found herself face to face with Kai whose eyebrows were creased - but his eyes showed a hint of worry.

"A stubborn mule. That's what you are." Kai told her off as he let her stand on her own feet.

Seohun rolled her eyes and curled her lips. She brushed her hair off of her shoulder and cleared .

"Anyways, how did you get to know of this abandoned train track?" she inquired, strolling and kicking a few pebbles while doing so.

Kai sauntered by her side, both hands in his pocket. "Taemin brought me here when we were younger." he replied. "Said he'd always drop by whenever he feels pressurised by... Dad."

Seohun nodded at the information. She looked to Kai when he suddenly sighed. Only then did she notice that the other had dark circles under his eyes. Seohun's lips set a thin line, they were both only halfway through their second year of high school and Kai already looked like he was on their last.

"Kai-ah?" Seohun called out, making the other stop and face her. "Let's sit for a while."

Kai giggled at the other's pouty expression and nodded in agreement. "Oh, wait."

Seohun looked at him in confusion as the other took put his extra attire for physical education. He folded both his track pants and t-shirt neatly before stacking them on the hard ground.

"Kai, what are you-"

"Now," he smiled to himself in satisfaction. "Now you can sit."

Seohun stared at him, dumbfounded. "It's okay, Kai - I don't need them."

Kai scoffed and pulled the other to settle on top of his clothes. "Stay."

The former glared at him as the other treated her like a domestic animal. Still, she smiled afterwards as she considered Kai's small gesture - a tint of crimson evaded her cheeks.

Kai who failed to notice the other's red face, landed his rear beside her. Seohun meekly reached for her book bag and took out her lunch box. The tanned male beside her frowned, "No wonder I didn't see you during lunch break." he said, a disapproving look etched on his face.

"I was in the library." Seohun deadpanned. "We had our class there.."

Kai sneered and scrunched up his nose. "Lemme guess, you fell asleep after the class ended, didn't you?"

Seohun looked away and mumbled incoherent words under her breath. All Kai heard was a small 'yes' and the fault of the sofas in the library - for being comfy. He smiled at the former's childish behaviour, letting out a tired sigh and opted to stare blankly to the train tracks. The brunette noticed the sudden solemness and glanced to the other. She poked his toned biceps, jutting out her bottom lip as he turned to her. The stared into each other's orbs, communicating telepathically.

Kai breathed out and landed his eyes back to the tracks.
