The slightly trembling brunette fought the urge to burst into tears. She didn't know what to feel. Seohun was torn between wanting to reach out for the other and pull him into her arms, or run off and back into her room - locking herself away from the outside world. She bit her bottom lip and eyed the other who still kept that smug look plastered on his face. When they locked their gazes, Seohun's eyes widened before quickly returning back to their original size.

Though the other's exterior seemed to be evidently pompous, his eyes had that cold look - a look filled with vengeance and hatred.

"This was the one I told you about, son." Mr. Kim beamed broadly, pointing towards the brunette.

Seohun looked away, furiously blinking away the hot tears that threatened to fall. So, he knew that they were getting married to each other.

"I'm Kai." she heard the other say.

Kai. Yes, it was Kai.

The person sitting before her was Kai, but it wasn't the Kai she knew. The warm and loving Kai was long gone, she reckoned. He wasn't smiling sincerely - his once blinding but beautiful smile was replaced by that stupid smirk.

"As you can see, my son isn't much of a talker." Mr. Kim said when Kai only introduced himself.

'He was; two years ago' the small voice in Seohun's head muttered.

"Well, at least he did say something." Jinhyuk said, making Seohun look to him who was frowning in disapproval. In return, the latter looked back to the tanned male in front of her.

Yifan, who only managed to look to and fro from Kai to his father and to Jinhyuk, then glanced towards his sister's quivering form. He sighed inwardly and reached out for the other's hand, giving it a little squeeze of assurance. Seohun too, averted her hazel orbs from her Kai and smiled gratefully.

"I'm Wu Zhouxun," she started, gripping onto Yifan's hand for moral support. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

It was a pleasure, really. All this while, she thought it was only wishful thinking to be able to see the male sitting before her. Sadly, the person she thought she knew was long gone.

"Pleasure's all mine." Kai monotonously muttered.

"Say, don't you have a Korean name," he inquired, shifting his attention to his fingers. "Mandarin doesn't work for me."

Seohun was swallowed thickly. She kept still when Mr. Kim sent daggers towards his son. "Kai, you-"

"Father. You don't expect me to change my attitude, do you?" Kai retorted back. "So, do you or do you not-"

"Yes. Yes she does have one." Yifan cut him off, irritated. "It's Seohun, Oh Seohun."

Both Yifan and Kai played their little staring game before Jinhyuk cleared his throat. "I think it's best if we were to call it a day." he chuckled dryly. "Besides, you and I have a little catching up to do."

Mr. Kim hummed in agreement, "And the children might need time to get to know each other more."

Both of the elders got up. Jinhyuk clicked his tongue turned to Yifan, "I suppose you'd take care of your sister well?"

Yifan glowered in return, "I don't need to be reminded. Especially by you."

The former shrugged and stuffed his hands into his pockets, walking out the door after his long time friend was done speaking with his son.

"Well Kai, I hope the two of you would get to know each other better," his father strictly 'advised'. "The company will be undoubtedly grat-"

"Yes father, grateful." he rolled his eyes. "I know."

Mr. Kim sighed and tagged behind the former who'd already left.

Once left alone, Yifan immediately decided to ask his sister's ex a few questions. But before he could even do so, Seohun seized his arm, forcing him to sink further back to his chair. She stared into his warm orbs, silently pleading with him to not make a scene. He obliged with reluctance after reading her pitiful expression.
