[CONTENTID3]“But I screwed it up, jagiya.”

“W…Why are you saying that? I’m here aren’t I? You didn’t screw anything up.”

And then he kissed her, like her lips were air and he couldn’t breathe. After breaking the kiss, Dae Eun brought him closer to her chest as she hugged him like it was the thousandth time she did it, but that was okay because although it may not be the best of mornings, she felt like she was at a point where she was ready to leave everything behind her for him.

“Why are you like this? What happened?” She whispered, clenching her stomach as if it were the trigger for her rimmed watery eyes that she declined to release.

“I’ll try and fix it jagiya. I will.”

--------------------------------

“Seriously oppa? You’re asking me on a date yet you’re the one that takes the longest to get ready.”

“I just… I just need to look good for you.”

“You already look good.”

“What was that jagiya?”

“I said you look as ugly as a pig!”

“Why does it feel like you have said that to me before?”

“Maybe because it’s a true fact.”

“Jagiya! It’s not my fault you’re, in truth, beautiful you fudging Aphrodite.”

Dae Eun looked away, not daring to show a hint of an embarrassed emotion, but the colouring of her cheeks didn’t abide to her demand. Instead, she was heating up with the tint of a pink shade blushing her cheeks. Jung kook couldn’t help but notice her reaction, as he chuckled to himself before tidying himself up and taking one last look at his attire for the day. Jung kook glanced at Dae Eun before smiling to himself, as if he were the luckiest dude on earth- to his point of view, he practically was. Jung kook swooped his bag’s handle for proceeding to leave the building.

“Let’s go jagiya.”

------------------------------

Dae Eun couldn’t help but feel an uncanny sentiment, but the Jung kook she was with subconsciously brought her back to the good old times. It was a good distraction from her mind replaying the moment Jung kook swung a fist at Changjo. Though she felt horrid and rather guilty, she couldn’t help but enjoy the time she was having now with Jung kook. She looked up at him to quickly study his sharp features before smiling to herself like she was some type of weirdo.

“No flash photography please.” Jung kook jokingly commented.

“You don’t deserve flash photography.” Dae Eun witted.

“Fine then. Just don’t go crying to me when I don’t buy the food you want.”

“F…Fine. I don’t need your money.” Dae Eun secretly sulked in the inside, dying of the desperation for her desired food wishes. Jung kook knew she hadn’t given up his charity to her, so he smiled as a self-celebration for her defeat. Did I forget to mention, beautiful weathers with the sunny side up and still air had filled the atmosphere, creating a perfect day for their date?

Jung kook dragged her to what is supposed to be a park, but to their point of view, a large centered and rounded hall with windows for walls was situated in the setting. It was a large food court that chimed of cutlery clinging and chattering scattered the place. Jung kook took a look of the place before contemplating what he wanted to eat.

“So what do you want to eat jagiya?”

“I crave for a vanilla slice and pancakes with a tad bit of maple syrup and scoopful of vanilla ice cream in the center of it. I like my vanilla slice to have a custard taste to it and my pancake has to be cooked of a perfect golden brown surface to it. Don’t forget the scoopful of ice cream with maple syrup drooping down the ice cream and onto the pancakes, making it look like the advertisements.”

“Is that it?”

“Are you really going to ask me that question Oppa? Of course that’s not it. I also want a latte.”

“You can describe a whole essay of what food you want to eat, but you can’t describe what kind of latte you want?”

“You’d probably be getting a novel if I were to describe the perfect latte for me, Oppa.”

“Fine.”

To their surprise, the lines to the food stalls went by pretty fast, which was convenient and of a really good service. Their unique of a routine went by as Jung kook bought the food Dae Eun and himself wanted before exiting the hall to eat their decent cuisines with the company of nature. To Dae Eun’s surprise, her description of her ‘perfect’ meal was almost vividly presented onto the plate she held.

Their perfect spot was on the grass hill that a lot of people occupied, but still leaving room for other people; such as Dae Eun and Jung kook.

“Sorry. I didn’t know we were having a picnic. Is it okay if we don’t have a blanket?” Jung kook worried.

“No. I will never forgive you. How could you forget the picnic blanket?” Dae Eun joked... not that Jung kook noticed her humour. Instead, he just looked at her, astonished – as if he didn’t know what to do as of this situation since he didn’t bring a blanket.

“I’m kidding Oppa. Of course it’s okay!”

Jung kook released his breath of relief before sitting down along with Dae Eun to follow his suit. Luckily the food stalls plastered their food into convenient and handy plates. They ate, they laughed, and they looked around, basically enjoyed themselves. The cliché of a date rolled the scene as of now. After devouring their meal of perfection, they hadn’t decided to leave the place yet. Instead, Jung kook scooted closer to Dae Eun before placing an arm around her waist and pulling her in.

“Want to know why I asked you out on a date today?”

Dae Eun looked up at him as her eyes formed of a crescent shape before she nodded.

“Tomorrow is our last day here in France.”

“Has it already been a month? Wow. Time passed by really fast.”

“Yeah. I know. I hate the fact that it’s our second last day, but I miss everyone in Seoul.”

“Me too.”

“Is Jung Ah coming on the same plane as us?”

“I don’t know… I haven’t asked her.”

“It’s a good idea to tell her that… we’ll be leaving tomorrow evening.”

She nodded solemnly before her head fell onto Jung kook’s shoulder. It was a comforting feeling, as she was brought closer. She couldn’t help but notice Jung kook release a sigh, but by the sound of it, Jung kook wasn’t satisfied. She sat up at looked at Jung kook, as he did the same, sort of alarmed.

“What’s wrong Oppa?”

His reply wasn’t verbal. Instead, he smiled and brought her back in to their recent position, completely ignoring her question and concern. Dae Eun’s instinct brought her to think of the different possibilities of what may happen of today because of Jung kook’s ignorant behaviour, but at the same time, he was still himself.

-----------------------------------

They walked hand in hand, as their feet paced onto the squared concrete, as they were in the concept of inner deep listening and quiet still awareness; understanding the beauty of nature. The sun was still up, which made Dae Eun relieved that there was still more time to this day. This was the time where she regretted some decisions of just staying within the hotel, being the bibliophile she is instead of actually exploring France. But at the same time, she didn’t want to experience it without Jung kook.

“Jagiya…”

“Mm?”

“If you see Changjo again… could you tell him that I am sorry for punching him in the face?”

“Why can’t you tell him that?”

“Because… because he probably wouldn’t want to see my face after our encounter.”

“I’m sure things will go fine between you two, if you actually gave it a chance. He’s really nice.”

“And if you were with Changjo, what would you say to him about me?”

“I’d probably have a whole Harry Potter series just to get through that Oppa.”

“Is that an exaggeration?”

“By a small amount.”

There was a moment of silence between the two, as they went back to holding hands, swaying them back and forth before taking a good look at their surroundings. The air was clean, their vibes were in a good mood as it set the tone for their little romantic repertoire. Dae Eun couldn’t help but shamelessly feel that she wanted to open up Jung kook’s brain and peek at what he is keeping inside it (not literate). Of what the future of the day beholds made her curious yet, somehow worried at how things may turn up as her instincts tell her something was a bit eerie.<

Chapter 50: done finally ㅠ ㅠ usually I'll comment on each chapter but this story is so beautiful and addictive I kept clicking the next button. in chapter 49, i thought daeun gonna end up with changjo I was ready to bawl my eyes out and I was thinking to be mad at you but thankfully happy ending is the one you choose. I'm so happy that this story ends beautifully and nostalgicly(?). anyway, I love how you create a character like daeun, witty and innocent at the same time. and for kookie, he's adorable and such a boyfriend material. tbh, it will great if you can make a bonus chapter for jungah and jimin, istg they are so cute. lastly, wonderful story author him! Iwish this story will have a yellow star!
