That night, we stayed up until 3am working on everything we needed for tomorrow’s festival. Jimin, Jung Ah and Jung kook were sleeping separately within the upper floor’s living room whilst I was writing back to the letter my parents sent a week ago but came in today.
Dearest child of ours,
How have you been? Have you been eating well? Are you keeping yourself hygienic? Your father and I are staying for a couple months. We will be back before your birthday for sure. Uruguay has been spectacular despite having the financial crisis happening. Oh how we wish you were here with us Dae Eun-ah. I know that this letter will go to you in a few weeks so don’t think we didn’t write to you. We miss you dearly. Be healthy. We will do our best to come back home as soon as possible. We love you.
Deepest Regard
Mother and Father.
P.S Mother wants to know if you are meeting with any boys.
I was glad to read that they were okay being on the other side of earth, but I did miss them very much.
Dear mother & Father,
I am doing well and I am glad to hear you guys are having a good time in Uruguay. I have been making new friends since you allowed me to go out and I am thankful for that. Bernard Performing Arts School is holding their 101st anniversary therefore we are working on the bake sale we are doing in celebration of this event. Hyun Shik has been looking after me very well and I am eating 3 meals a day. I knew that your letter would come in a while. I love you guys and I hope you come back in one piece.
Deepest Regard
Your daughter Dae Eun-ah.
P.S There is this one boy that makes my heart flutter.
I had no problem giving all my honesty and addressing it to my parents but it did make me hesitant. I went back into the living room where all three were sleeping. I packed up the implements we used to make our flyers and banner and placed them back on the desk that was in the study area of the living room. I rubbed my eyes and went back into my room to sleep.
We all walked toward the school gate and the place was overrun by decorations and students in costumes, casual clothing and the things they need to set up their booths. This was going to be fun. Thankfully, the designated spot we chosen was occupied. A lot of the girls tended to stare at Jung kook and whisper to each other. Not that it bothered me… that was a lie. Each of us were carrying bags and boxes of the baked treats we made the other night, and the aroma was killing me. Its scent filled with vanilla and strawberries.
“Okay! Jung Ah and I will set up the bake sale whilst you two… get to hand out the flyers.” Jimin ordered as he handed the flyers to Jung kook and I. We shared glances and headed off to do our job.
“Annyeonghasaeyo! Please come to our bake sale!” Were the words that came out of both of our mouths as we handed the flyers around. Many of the girls smiled or winked at Jung kook which made me grimace. Though, there were a few boys that did the same thing to me. At least it was a success. I spotted Han Byul walking toward us with Kwangyeon. I waved at him but remembered what Jung kook said the other night.
“I’m gonna go toward over there.” Jung kook said as he headed off toward the basketball courts.
“Hey!” Han Byul greeted when he made his way over to me.
“Hey!”
“A little busy are we?”
“Care to check out our bake sale?”
“Of course!” Kwangyeon interrupted.
“Where is it?”
“The providence place.”
“Ahh…! Nice spot. A lot of students go near that area.”
