Eleven
6162160I stepped out of the room, and Kai was sitting on the couch, scanning through magazines.
“What do you think?”I asked him.
It’s the second dress I’ve tried, and I think this looks better.
He looked up, “You..look amazing.” He said. And with that, I made up my mind.
Kai’s reaction to this dress is far from the first one.
“Will you put on your tux?” I said.
He had chosen his tux, the other day when we paid the florist a visit.
He stood up and back hugged me.
Our eyes met in the mirror.
“Noona, 486.” He smiled.
“486.” I said. “Go and change to your tux.”
The lady gave him his clothes and led him inside.
I ran my hands through the soft fabric of my dress.
It feels so nice and comfortable.
It’s simple, yet elegant.
Just like mommy’s wedding dress.
“Noona-yah!” He called, running towards me.
“Oppa’s really handsome!” I said.
He smirked.
We looked at the mirror.
Within a few months, the forever Kai promised will be sealed.
We will spend forever, together.
“Your planner, came and left this, honey.” Mom said as soon as I sat down the couch.
“That must be the invitations!” I exclaimed. “I finally settled down my dress awhile ago, Umma. And it’s ridiculously similar to yours.” I said, opening the invitation.
“Invitations? Aren’t you going a little too fast, darling? When your dad and I got married, it took us fifteen months to prepare. You don’t need to rush, baby. Did you have dinner already?”
Honestly, I don’t know why we are rushing this out.
But Kai told me, he doesn’t want to waste more time. We’ve wasted lots of years already.
We’ll definitely grow old together, he said.
“Don’t you like it, Umma? I’m finally marrying Kai..” Mom knew how I loved Kai. She knew he was my first love.
“Of course not, dear. I’m really happy you’re ending up with him. He took good care of you, and I bet he’ll never hurt you. It’s just that, I don’t want you guys regretting if something goes wrong. But I hope everything goes smoothly.”
“That’s going to be a sure thing, umma!” I said, “Oh, when are you going to the fitting? Tell me, so I can take you there.”
“It’s alright sweetie, I can go alone. You have lots of things to do.”
“Are you sure? Oh, that’s right! Sulli’s coming tomorrow. Do you want to come with her?”
“If it’s alright with her, then sure.”
“Okay, I’ll tell her.”
“Have you had dinner? I cooked jjajang!” Mom took me to the kitchen.
“Jjajang? Omo! It’s been awhile since I’ve tasted jjajang made in my homeland!” I said happily.
“I went out to visit your dad and went grocery shopping awhile ago and figured out you might like jjajang for dinner.”
“I love it, umma! Oh, you brought flowers for appa?”
“Here, help yourself..” She said, giving me bowl. “Yeah, I brought him flowers. Did you visit him with Kai already?”
“Once.. maybe we should go and visit appa again..” I said, devouring my noodles.
After dinner, I washed up.
Drying my hair with my towel, I looked at my calendar.
Tomorrow’s schedule is:
Driving test.
Mail the invitations.
Look for a place to move in.
I’m taking a day off tomorrow, to make time for those things.
I sighed.
This is more tiring than I expected.
But if this is one of the steps to the forever Kai promised, then I’ll gladly accept it all.
My phone beeped, and I answered it.
“Noona, I’m picking you up tomorrow morning, and we’re going to do everything together, even your driving test.”
“Did you take a time off?” I asked, sitting on the egde of my bed.
“I did, So let’s finish what we can tomorrow. You should rest now, okay?”
“Yeah, you too. Have a good night, Oppa.”
“Dream of me!” He said laughing. “Alright, sleep tight, noona!”
I heard the door buzz, and a knock on my room’s door.
“Krystal, honey. Sehun’s here.”
Sehun?
I opened my door and I saw Sehun, taking off his shoes.
“What brought you here, this late?” I asked him.
“Do you want something to drink, Sehun?” Mom asked him.
“No auntie. It’s okay.” He said.
“Oh.. if you need anything just tell Krystal. I need to sleep now, it’s kinda late.”
“Sorry, auntie.” He bowed.
“No, no. It’s alright.” Mom smiled. “Good night!” she said before going to her room.
“Ya. It’s late. Why are you here?”
“Noona, are you really going to marry him?” He asked, seriously.
We were standing far from each other, “Have a seat..” I said.
“Noona.”
“What’s wrong Sehun?”
“Are you really marrying him?” He asked again.
“You came here to ask me that?”
“Just please answer me.” His voice is shaking.
I came to him and dragged him to sit on the couch.
“Yes, I am.” I said, confused.
“Are you sure? Noona, you’re still young.”
I chuckled. “I know Sehun, but.. this is it.” I smiled, but he didn’t.
“Can’t you give me a chance?”
“Sehun-ah..” I was taken back by what he said.
“Noona, I liked you from the very first time I met you.”
“Sehun,” I said, shocked.
“Please give me a chance.”
“Sehun-ah. I’m sorry..but-” I stopped when I saw him look down.
“Fine. If this is going to make you happy. If you really want this. But if I ever see you cry because of him, I won’t hesitate to take you from him.” He stood up.
“Sehun-ah.” I said.
“It’s really late, I should go.”
I didn’t say anything.
I just escorted him to the door.
When he was about to step out, I spoke.
“You’re going to find her. You’re going to find someone better.” I said, trying to cheer him up.
He looked at me and faked a smile. “Good night.” He said.
I’m not sure if what I said helped, but isn't it true?
He’s going to find someone who’ll love him back.
Same way I found Kai.
