Super Junior M - Off My Mind

_______ was alone in the apartment she was currently renting for the duration of her vacation in Kimchi land. She didn’t mind going out or staying home alone now since the guys are usually out busy with their schedules.

Boredom was slowly eating _______ up since there was nothing on tv nor on the internet to entertain her. She connected her phone to the speaker dock and played a playlist that contained songs from her favorite boy band, Super Junior of course. Besides the long walks during shopping,  ______ wasn’t getting her usual work-out ever since she arrived in Korea so that’s why she That’s why she loved dancing crazily when she’s all alone.

- Meanwhile on the other side of the city -

“You guys go ahead, I'll just pass by _______’s place to check on her.” Siwon told the guys as they exited the gym.  

“Seriously Siwon do you like her?” Leeteuk asked suspiciously.

“What?! I really don't hyung. We're like siblings and I'm just looking out for her. I haven’t seen or talked to her for a week now so it’s only natural that I see what she’s been up to.” Siwon truthfully replied.

“Well if that’s the case…”

“We wanna go with you!” The boys said like little kids.

_______ was still immersed in her own little world. She was now about to dance to ‘Boom Boom’ after taking a short break. The loud music surrounded her living room, it was as if she was having her own concert.

“Why isn’t she opening the door?” Eunhyuk asked as he looked at the others. They’ve been waiting in front of her door for about 2 minutes now. Even though the sound was blasting inside _______’s apartment, the sound proof walls hindered the guys to hear anything.

A bit alarmed, Siwon kept calling out ______’s name and repeatedly knocked on her door.

“Maybe she's not home? Try asking Key or Amber or whoever you think is with her.” Leeteuk suggested.

“But we just saw Key at the gym earlier.” Zhoumi remembered.

“Hmm…let's see if she has a spare key out here.” Henry suddenly spoke and he started snooping around.

“I doubt it…that doesn’t work in real life.” Leeteuk said as he looked at Henry lift up a flower pot near _______’s door, unfortunately nothing was under there.

“I knew it.” Henry happily said as he lifted the small ‘welcome’ mat / carpet in front of the door. 
"Wow Henry, you've been watching too much CSI already.” Zhoumi commented.

The guys were finally able to enter _______’s apartment. They immediately heard the music and realized that _______ couldn’t hear the doorbell. They stopped at their tracks when they saw ______ at the living room dancing to her heart’s content. Her back was facing them, so she didn’t even hear them walk in nor noticed their presence.

Eunhyuk got excited as it was his solo dance part coming up in the song and so he decided to join you.

“OMO!!” _______ squealed when she saw Eunhyuk suddenly dancing beside her. The shock made her lose her balance, making her slip and hit the floor.
“Ugh” ______ fell down real hard on the floor.
“ _______, are you okay?” The boys all rushed to check on her.
“Sorry I didn't mean to scare you _______.” Eunhyuk apologized, he felt so guilty.

“Wow this so embarrassing.” _______ mumbled as she looked at the guys who were trying to help her.

“What are you guys doing here? How did you get in?” _______ asked as she tried to get up.
“Well we brought you food. We kept knocking and ringing the doorbell outside. We got worried when you weren't answering. Our maknae here found your secret key and so we were able to get in." Leeteuk explained.
“Does it hurt?” Siwon asked referring to ______’s ankle
“I'm not sure I'll try to walk...OWW!! Aish! Yup it definitely hurts" ______ was in pain as soon as she tried walking with her right foot and it hurt like hell.
“See what you've done” Zhoumi said as he slapped Eunhyuk's shoulder.

“______, I’m really sorry.”
“No it's okay. It was an accident.” _______ assured him with a smile. She hopped to the couch with the rest assisting her.
“Don't you need to go to the hospital for that or something?” Henry asked as he was examining her foot.
“No need, this will go away soon. Anyways....what's up?” _______ tried to lift the mood up and divert the attention away from her.
“Oh yeah I almost forgot. Here's the food we brought you.” Siwon said as he handed _______ the plastic bag.

“Thanks oppa. Hmmm…wait isn't this the chicken restaurant that you guys are advertising?” ______ asked as she saw the Kyochon logo.

“Yeah we sorta had a lot in store. Don’t tell Ryeowook, okay? He’ll get upset if he knew we brought you food that he didn’t cook." Leeteuk said with a laugh

“Are you sure you're okay? Your ankle is swelling up already.” Henry asked worriedly as he lifted ______’s leg and let it rest on his lap.

“Well if it gets worse I'll just get a checkup.” ________ answered back, trying to take her foot away from Henry’s hands.

– 2 days after the incident –

*DING DONG*

_______ was in the middle of watching a drama when she heard the doorbell ring and so rushed to the door to open it.

“Annyeong!” Henry greeted ______ with a smile and a small hand wave
“Oh…Henry what are you doing here?” _______ asked in English before letting him in. She couldn’t help but smile back because Henry’s eye-smile is infectious.
“Well I was on my way to SM’s recording studio to do some demo songs for our next SJ-M album. Your place was on the way and so I was wondering if you wanted to come with.”
“Yes! I’ve been stuck and bored here since I got a sprain.” _______ started and showed a small pout. “Let me just get dressed. You can go sit on the couch first.” _______ answered before turning around and limping towards her room.

“I’m ready.” _______ said as she went out of her room after a few minutes and grabbed her bag by the table.
“Okay.” Henry said as he kneeled down, his back facing her.
“Uhm…Henry? What are you doing?” _______ asked confused. He sure didn’t look like he was tying his shoelaces.
“I see that you’re still limping cause of your sprain so I’ll give you a piggy-back.” Henry answered as he looked over his shoulder to look at _______ .
“What? No no no. That’s sweet and all but I can walk better now. See…” _______ tried to reject Henry’s offer. She tried walking normally but clearly that wasn’t going to work out well.

“I’m not taking a no for an answer. Don’t be shy ________. It’ll make me happy…please?” Henry convinced _______ by showing some aegyo.

_______ then gave up arguing and just rode on Henry’s back.

She blushed as she held on tight, wrapping her arms around him while Henry did the same.

-In the recording studio-

“________ can I ask you something?” Henry hesitantly asked after lowering the volume of the music down.

“What is it?” _______ asked back as she looked at him.

“Do you like Siwon hyung?”

“What?! me?” ______ cracked up “No. I really don't. He's a great oppa when and I'm thankful for that. He and the rest of you guys are like my family here in Korea. I’m not surprised when the others asked me that as well because they see me and Siwon oppa close. Why did you suddenly ask?”

“Oh. uhm…nothing." Henry replied before looking away so that he could hide his big smile. He was happy to have confirmed that _______ didn’t feel anything but brotherly love for Siwon. Little did he know that he wasn’t his competition.

“Hmmm…anyway Henry can I ask for a favor? Can you sing something for me?”

“Sing? Now?”

“Yeah, we are in a recording studio and you did say that you are going to record some demo songs.”
“Okay I will but only if you call me Henry oppa” Henry said feeling a bit embarrassed. When he and ______ would converse in English, she would usually just call him by his first name and not add the oppa anymore.

“Henry oppa, can you sing for me please?” _______ asked with aegyo.

Henry chuckled, he really liked how _______ put some effort just to get him to sing.

“Well there is this one song I’ve been working on but it’s in Mandarin though.” Henry stood up from the swivel chair he was sitting in and started singing. He walked around the room because he was too shy to sing in front of her.

The light suddenly went out when Henry just finished singing the last line of the chorus.

“Oh wow do I sing that bad?” Henry asked in a joking matter.

Before _______ could say anything, a loud thunder noise was heard followed by a flash of lighting from outside the building’s window.

“O--oppa?” ______ called out to Henry, her voice trembling a bit.

“Are you okay?” Henry anxiously asked as he walked back towards where _______ is. He used the light from his phone to guide him.

“yeah, I’m just scared” ________ could feel and hear Henry’s footsteps coming close. She hugged him as soon as he came close enough. 

“Sorry, I'm just really scared of thunders and especially now that there's no power.”

“It's okay. I’m here for you.” Henry rubbed _______’s back in an attempt to soothe and calm her down.

‘_______, me holding you this close...I don't know but, all these feelings are just coming up and I don't know if I can stop it.’ Henry thought to himself. He unknowingly let out a sigh and _______ couldn’t help but ask “Why?”
Instead of hearing a vocal response from Henry, _______ felt Henry’s hand on the side of her face, moving her away from his chest. _______ couldn’t clearly see Henry’s face because of the dark but she did look into his eyes that were looking deeply into hers. All of a sudden, _______ felt Henry’s lips against hers, softly kissing her.

_______ was surprised by his act but she didn't pull back because she could feel the warmth and gentleness of his kiss and that comforted her at the moment. 
She could feel Henry’s other hand around her waist. Although confused, _______ started to kiss him back.

Henry felt relieved that _______ reciprocated the kiss. The loud thunder and the rain outside didn’t matter anymore.
_______ heard the computer and air-conditioner turn back on and when she opened her eyes she realized that the lights came back on, and that was when she pulled back from the kiss.

Henry didn’t want to open his eyes, he knew what would happen after his gaze meets _______.

“Oppa what was that?” ______ asked with a timid voice before taking two steps back.

“I don't know _______. I'm sorry I just got caught up in the moment.” Henry answered before sighing as he looked down and scratch the back of his head.

_______’s phone started to ring, signaling her that a phone call was coming in.

She picked up the call and turned her back on Henry.

“Oh hi oppa. Yes. I'm at the recording room...with Henry oppa...yeah the power just went back here as well. Okay we'll just wait for you here then.”
_______ returned her phone inside the front pocket of her jeans and then turned around to look at Henry.

“That was Siwon opppa, they just finished their photoshoot and are on their way here.” _____ conveyed the message to Henry.

“Oh man. Siwon hyung would kill me if he knew what I did.” Henry realized and could imagine the reaction he would get from the guys

“What did that mean?”

“Well because Siwon keeps saying you’re like his younger sister and that he would always protect you from us and our stupid acts.”

“No. I mean, what did that kiss mean?” _______ asked seriously.

“Oh that…I'm sorry ______. I was here, I was worried about you because you were scared, you hugged me and then all these feelings came up and I just wanted....I don't know but I just wanted to comfort you. I didn't know that I was going to kiss you.” Henry was trying to explain himself and his impulsive actions. “I’m sorry _____. If you want I can leave and—”

“No Henry. You don't have to leave. I'm sorry too. Can we just pretend that the last five to ten minutes didn't happen? I don’t want things to get awkward between us.” ______ said with a faint smile on her face. She hoped that things can get back to normal.

‘Was I really sorry that I kissed you? Can I just pretend this didn't happen? This is making me go crazy. I really like you ______, can’t I just confess?’ Different kinds of thoughts were running around his mind. He knew that all of those questions would be answered by a no. But for the sake of not losing _______ as a friend, Henry did his best to do an eye smile and say “Of course.”
