Donghae stretched his hands up in the air as he woke up late in the morning. He still felt tired and a bit restless. He couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. Was it because his mind kept alerting him about _______’s soon departure?

He greeted the members who were already up and were scattered in different areas of the dorm. Donghae first got a drink from the fridge before sitting down next to Siwon on the couch.
“What time is _______'s flight later again?” Donghae asked. It was just now that he realized that he didn’t know the exact of time of ________’s flight.

“What do you mean? What time she will arrive in her country?” Siwon placed the newspaper down as he looked at Donghae.

“No, like what time does she leave from Korea tonight?” Donghae clarified his question. _______ told Donghae before that her flight would be at night but didn’t specify the time.
“Donghae…her plane leaves in less than two hours.” Siwon weirdly looked at Donghae. No one knew that _______ had lied to Donghae.

“What!?” Donghae jolted up from the couch with his eyes wide open.

“I thought you knew that.” Siwon was confused. He did find it a bit odd that Donghae didn’t wake up earlier to ask if he could bring _______ to the airport or talk to her on the cellphone.

“If I knew then I wouldn’t be here right now!” Donghae couldn’t help but raise his voice. He was frustrated, confused and most of all, panicking.  

The hyung’s of the group let this outburst of his slide since they knew where Donghae was coming from.

Donghae rushed to his room to check his phone and call _______. He couldn’t believe what he just heard. He promised ________ just last night that he was going to bring her to the airport, she told him she looked forward to it…so why is this happening now?

He unlocked his phone and saw that there was one new message from ________. He slowly sat down on his bed and read what she had to say.

‘I’m sorry had to do it like this oppa. I can’t make this goodbye any more painful than it already is.

It will be more heartbreaking to part with you if you’ll be at the airport stopping me…I don’t want to say goodbye, but I have to.

Why do all good things must come to an end? Our relationship may have been but to a stop here, but I promise you…I won’t stop loving you. I’ll never ever forget you.’

Donghae blinked away the tears that resulted from reading that message. He didn’t want to accept it. He quickly changed his clothes and got his shades ready. He placed his phone in his front pocket while his other hand grabbed his keys.

“I’ll drive you.” Eunhyuk immediately volunteered after he saw that Donghae had his car keys on hand. He didn’t want Donghae to get into any accident because of how he was currently feeling.

“I’ll go with you too.” Siwon stood up as well and followed the two who were now speed walking.

“I can’t believe she did this.” Donghae muttered as he got inside the passenger seat.

Minutes turned like hours for Donghae as their car cruised down the road, Eunhyuk drove as fast and as safe as he could. The traffic wasn’t even that bad but Donghae felt like it was the worst he has seen. Time was so crucial to him now and he could only hope that it would be on his side.

‘Please please please. Let me see her before she boards. I need to see her.’ Donghae prayed in his head.

He kept trying to call _______’s cell but she wouldn’t answer. Siwon reprimanded Donghae when he punched the dashboard of his car out of frustration.

________ smiled and thanked the lady over the counter as she was handed her passport and ticket back. She let out a sigh as she wandered around Incheon airport one last time.

She went to the McDonalds counter and bought one of her favorite Korean food which was a Bulgogi burger. ________ couldn’t help but reminisce and have deep thoughts as she chewed her food. After today she’ll go back to the reality that she’s been used to living. After today her movie-like story will just be another part of her life, a part that she’s not sure if she can go back to. Will she ever have a chance to have a love story like this again? Will she ever have another opportunity to be with Donghae?

Donghae seemed like he jumped out of the car as soon as Eunhyuk parked it. He went inside the airport but was hindered by the guards to go in any further since he didn’t have his passport and ticket. Donghae and his two fellow group mates decided to use their idol - superstar status to persuade the officials to let them in. They didn’t like the fact that they had to use their fame to bribe people but desperate times call for desperate measures.

They briefly explained to them the situation they were in and begged.

The guards and their superiors finally allowed the guys to enter just as long they get their photos taken with them, plus their albums with signatures.

The trio split up to cover more areas to hopefully find ________ faster. Donghae jogged and let his eyes wander. He was trying to spot the girl who has stolen his heart...the one who would be leaving his country with a piece of his heart.

He’s been speed walking and jogging around for minutes. He was slowly losing faith, he couldn’t believe that this was how they were going to end.

He thought that the search for his soulmate was finally over when he saw a girl standing in line. She had her back him so he really couldn’t see her face, but her hair, her similar style in dressing and posture gave him hope. He thought that familiar silhouette belonged to his one and only girl. Donghae walked towards the girl and placed his hand on her shoulder.

________ felt a tap on her shoulder making her turn her head around. She didn’t know that she fell asleep while waiting for her flight. Good thing someone got her attention.

“Excuse me miss. Are you boarding on this flight?” A stewardess asked ________ as she pointed towards the sign where the flight number was.

“Ah yes. Why?” ________ was then informed that the plane has already started boarding their passengers.

________ quickly gathered her stuff and went in to the counter to board.

‘Goodbye Korea. You gave me such good, precious memories. Keep my love alive and look after my Donghae oppa.’ _______ thought that it was silly that she thought of that while looking out of the plane.

Donghae could only mumble an apology as the girl who turned around to look at him was not the girl he has been looking for. His heart fell but after taking in a few deep breaths he started to look around for _________ again.

“Donghae!” Siwon shouted loud enough to get Donghae’s attention.

“Her boarding gate is on the opposite end of this terminal.” Siwon regretfully informed him. “We can’t make it on time. I was told they already had their last call for all the passengers.”

Donghae didn’t listen to Siwon and ran. He ran as fast as he could towards the right direction, he didn’t care about how his image would look like after today if fans did see him.

________ is still so near yet so far. His heart was sinking and he didn’t want to believe that they’re having this ending.

Donghae dropped to his knees and panted as he saw no one at the closed gate. He could only stare sadly out of the airport’s wall window. Her plane was already preparing for takeoff. She was no longer in his reach. He would have wanted to tell her ‘I love you’ once more, or could have assured her of his love. Why did she have to make it so difficult?

So maybe this really is goodbye?

Siwon drove going back to the dorm. He and Eunhyuk kept silent, not knowing how to talk with this kind of atmosphere in the air.

Questions filled up Donghae’s mind on the ride home. Why did she lie at the last moment? Why didn’t she want him to be there for her when she left? Did she really not find the need for a goodbye?

Donghae and _______ definitely had a love story that’s one for the books. An experience in love that certainly made their hearts ache.

The guys back in the dorm all waited for news from Siwon, Eunhyuk or Donghae. They prayed and wished that the three would come home with some sort of good news.

They all felt bad and pitied Donghae as soon as they saw him walk in the door with a sorrowful expression and bloodshot eyes.

“Don’t worry. You’ll find someone else.” Kyuhyun just wanted to comfort his hyung but his words just added fuel to the fire.

Donghae stomped towards Kyuhyun and grabbed him by the collar.

“You really don’t think before speaking do you?!” Donghae told Kyuhyun , his rough hold on his dongsaeng certainly shocked everyone who was present in the room.

“Yah Lee Donghae!” Leeteuk stepped up and pulled Donghae away from a terrified Kyuhyun.

“Don’t take out your frustrations on us. Go lock yourself up in your room if you want time alone.” Heechul told Donghae off. Donghae glared at them and huffed before walking towards his room and slammed the door.

“That was too soon Kyuhyun.” Sungmin said as Kyuhyun blankly looked at them, not knowing what he did wrong.

“We can’t completely let him out of our sight.” A worried Ryeowook said.

“Don’t worry we have spare keys, we’ll check on him once he’s cooled down. Besides, a man has to eat and go to the bathroom at some time in the day.” Shindong assured the worried ones.

Should I just end it here? I haven't had any sad endings for my previous stories yet so maybe this should be the first? haha Don't worry I'm not a bad author ;)
