Wishing Upon A Star
Lee shins point of view:
During the ruckus that had happened after the performance, kang dung nim called me out separately. Though i wondered, and doubted at first whether or not i should go, i ended up following him.
He led me to an isolated room where there were two people sitting on the couch. The man stood up and bowed. I bowed in response to show my respect as kangdungnim tells me to sit down.
"Young man" The man spoke up "That was some impressive show that you've put up on stage" He praised
"Kamsahmida" I smiled back "But... it wasn't just me, everyone else..."
"Tried their best too, is that so?" The man snorted then started to flip some pages on his clipboard "You're already in your 4th year of university right?" He asked while flipping some papers on a clipboard
"Um... that's right"
"Do you have any plans after you graduate? maybe a job... or a career?"
"No. i haven't" I replied. The man looked up to me, then tossed his clip board aside and walked closer to me
"So young and talented.... too bad that you really have no high ambitions" He sighed
"Wu-ssi" The woman wearing a large hat decorated by flowers spoke up "You seem to have gone off track" She implied
He immediately turned around and bowed "Forgive me milady. It's just that.... People who do not utilize their full potential just irritate me so much..."
"Enough with excuses. Just get to the main point" She coldly snapped at him
"De" He lowered his head, then faced me again "Then i assume that you wouldn't have any objections to the offer that i am about to give you" He said while extending a flyer
i read that peace of paper that says 'form of application ' at the top. "What is this?" I asked him
"It is just as it is written. It's a form for you to apply to our company as our composer"
"Mbo?" i exclaimed in shock "But... normally, wouldn't a job application not be given out this easily? Shouldn't i be tested... or anything of that sort?"
"You were" the woman stood up "You were tested, and have passed with flying colors" She smiled "Your final piece has moved me so much that i am willing for you to apply as our official composer and song writer" She explained
My mouth was literally forming the shape of an 'o'. I was speechless. I couldn't have asked for any better fortune than getting a job even before i graduate.
"Then, would you?"
"De?" I answered her as i came back to reality
"Are you willing to apply?"
"Of course"
she smiled "Then... as soon as you're done filling in the papers... we should arrange the procedures for your visa" The woman said while packing up her stuff
"Visa?" I blankly looked at her
"De, your visa. You've never been to America before haven't you?" She asked me
"No... but, why do i have to?"
"Our branch company is in the US. You'll be working there, if you apply the contract with us" She confirmed
"America?"
*meanwhile at the hall*
"Yah Hyuuwon... have you seen Lee shin around?" Gyu won asked while skipping to him
"Ani, i haven't. What's wrong?"
"I've been trying to look for him for quite a while now... and i can't seem to find him anywhere..."
"If you're looking for lee shin... i saw him walking with kang dung nim earlier to that direction" Bo eun pointed to the corridor that lee shin went to
"i see. gomawo Bo eun ah!" I smiled to thank her then walked off
Bo eun's point of view:
"Your face seems pretty normal when i sent her off to Lee shin" I asked randomly. Aiigoo... it seems like the jealously that i had before the show is still within me until now, i hate myself for this.
He turned around and smiled at me "I don't cling/ hang over to someone who doesn't love me back for too long you know" He answered with a grin.
"O-oh... is that so?" I awkwardly answered him back while turning my head and body away. And as i shut my eyes from embarrassment i can faintly hear his deep voice chuckling right behind me as he softly leaned his head behind my back
Gyu won's point of view:
I walked and walked through the corridor that Bo eun pointed at. It seems that this corridor leads to a solitary, isolated room as i saw a small opening which let some light escape.
I halted in front of the door right before i opened it. From this distance, i can hear clearly the arguments that are going on between lee shin and some unknown people.
"Do you know what kind of opportunity are you throwing away??" A mans voice yelled out
"I do" lee shins cold voice answered back
"Then... how come are you refusing?"
Refuse? Did Lee shin refuse an offer?
"I have my reasons" ha paused the looked at them while handing back a piece of paper to a woman who is heavily dressed with a with a flower decorated hat. "I'm sorry"
The woman gazed at him and said "Is it because of youth?" She asked
"Excuse me?"
She shook her head then said "Ani... never mind" She paused then moved closer to Lee shin and handed over a card "This is my card... i am giving you approximately 1 week to think over what you said earlier." She smiled "After all... it is never good to make rash decisions"
"um...."
"1 week" she emphasized
Lee shin sighed then answered back "Fine by me." The lady then turned around and walked towards the door, while Shin called her out for the last time "But i promise you, you'll get the same answer"
The lady just smiled, and bowed. "Mr wu, we're leaving it this much for today." *turns to kang dung nim* "Thank you for bringing him over"
"No, i should be thanking YOU for giving this kid such a rare opportunity for his future" He bowed
The lady walked out and i hastily tried to find a place to hide as she moves closer to the door. *sound of the door opening* "Gasp!"
She looked at me, and then scoffed. "What are you doing here young lady?"
"I... was looking for a friend...'
She looked at me then looked back at lee shin then laughed. "Youth" she shook her head then patted my head and said "Your acting and singing voice mesmerized me tonight. Too bad that i do not scout that field of talent" she randomly praised me.
"Ah...no.... i mean, kamsahmida" I bowed as she bowed to me in response and walked away with her man trailing right behind her.
"Scout?" i asked myself. Then it struck me. Did she perhaps.... scouted Shin ah? I turned around and saw Lee shin standing nervously in that room with kangdungnim standing beside him.
Kangdungnim gave him a light pat on the back before he left the room and bowed to me. "Gyu won ah... help him, wouldn't you?"
I didn't know how to respond to that. But I bowed anyway.
I walked in to the room, since i figured that shin ah didn't have the energy left to walk out. "Shin ah... what's wrong?" i asked worriedly as i saw his exhauted figure standing weakly in front of me.
He looked at me, then walked closer and gave me a hug "Gyu won ah.... I'm never going anywhere. I promise"
That moment i understood. His only reason for declining such a rare opportunity.... is me
