Chapter 3
In Time You'll LoveDear Kibum,
I guess you didn't get my last letter, or maybe you just ignored it. Minho has been hanging around your place a lot more lately. It seems you've fallen for his tricks. Please be wary of him I beg of you. I don't want you to get hurt, but even if you are I'll always be there to catch you and pick you back up. I've seen the way he looks at you. It's like you're a fresh doe for him to prey on.
I did see you pick up the roses though with the biggest smile. I'm glad you liked them. I remembered they're your favorite. You told me a while ago when you were admiring the two rose bushes in front of my house. I plucked a dozen of them straight from those bushes just for you, sheering off the thorns so you're delicate hands would not be pricked. Although, it would be a little romantic if they did. You would be my sleeping beauty. I would slay the evil Minho, and awaken you with true love's kiss.
Even though it seems you're getting involved with Minho at the moment, I'm still excited that we'll get to spend time together soon. Maybe then you'll realize who is a better match for you. Remember? You invited me to come have coffee at your house. I'm sure by the time this letter has reached you we'll already have had our coffee, and possibly more? I'm just so giddy about it that I can't help but mention it. We've never spent time alone in private before. We've always only had small talk out on our lawns, shouting across the way, where any nosy neighbor could watch through the window and eavesdrop.
Speaking of nosy neighbors, a kid, well more of a young adult I suppose, came by my house earlier today. He looked old enough to be legal, but still young enough to be in college. I'm sure I had at least five years seniority over him. Even though his face looked young it was evident in the amount of effort he tried to put into his muscles, and his overall physical appearance that he was trying to seem older. Perhaps he hated being taken for just a kid? I wonder what his story is, but I didn't catch anything really about him. He just told me he noticed that I looked out my window a lot at the neighborhood, wondering if I was part of the neighborhood watch. Well, I am I suppose, in a non-official way, since there isn't a neighborhood watch association in our community. I told him I sort of was, and he started flirting with me so strangely. He had leaned in and whispered,"Well just so you know... You're welcome to watch me anytime, and you should come over sometime if you want to touch with more than just your eyes", then he drew back with a wink. The whole experience made me really uncomfortable. What can I do in a situation like that? I ended up just simply nodding and shutting my door. Do you think he'll come back? It seems we both have our own enticing little vixens chasing after us now. I hope he doesn't come back.
I can't really blame you for falling for Minho I suppose. This stranger at my door was quite attractive, and Minho is too, but my love for you is strong enough that I would never succumb to such an incubus. I search for more depth in a person than just the outer layer of glittery gold dust attop the true work. I brush it off to gaze upon the true beauty, or fallacy of the person's inner workings. I ponder what drives the person, what makes them do what it is they do, and have found your drives most admirable. So admirable and unique that I can not fully wrap my head around them. I do not believe I'll ever find someone with enough likeness to you to ever replace your image engraved into my heart, mind, and bound to my soul.
Love,
Jonghyun
