Karin is a foreign transfer student taking up a curriculum at the life sciences department in the University of Seoul. After class hours, she would go to the music department and hang out with her friends, just playing music. She only had 2 years of formal training in playing the piano, but she continued it as a hobby. Her friends, Yi Shin, An Junyoung, and Alexa Sanders are all students in the Music department. Another person who goes by the name, Jin Park, would always drop by the music room and take videos of just about anything. He is one of the photographers of the student paper, a film student, and most importantly, Karin's closest friend.

They met Karin just before their performance in the auditorium. They were assigned to do the intermission number during the opening ceremony. However, their original pianist bailed out on them that day and not one piano major student would agree to take the place. Sensing that something was wrong, Jin approached the group and asked what the problem might be. They told him that they needed a pianist. Jin just knew who would fit the role perfectly.
