Donghae was enjoying her mom’s company inside the kitchen and Jin was more than willing to be their translator. Her mother was stunning like a goddess with her brown locks that dangled, deep set grey eyes, and high cheekbones. She exudes radiance and elegance in the way she moves, talks and smiles. Her smile was like Karin’s but Karin got her angelic features and straight hair from her dad. He even sees Karin in her dad, their personalities were similar.

“Dear,” that’s what her mom calls him now. “Could you get some plates from the cabinet?”

As usual, Jin translated while Donghae blushed every time her mom calls him by his new nickname.

How should I call Karin? What nickname would she give me? Honey? He felt warm and fuzzy at the thought.

They just finished setting up the table when they heard the faint voices of father and daughter as they descended the stairs.

“Honey~”

Deep shades of red tinted his cheeks realizing that ‘Honey’ was her mom’s term of endearment for her dad.

“I was just about to call you,” her mother’s voice was sweet and loving. “Look, the boys helped me make some snacks.”

Donghae watched as she gently wrapped her hands around her husband’s arm as she led him to the table. Both were smiling and he could see the sparkle in their eyes. He unconsciously smiled, thinking of his future with Karin.

“Ohh, I suddenly felt hungry. This looks delicious,” he pulled a chair for his wife before settling on his own chair.

Likewise, Donghae readily pulled out a chair for Karin and she responded with a smile. During the course of their light meal, they would occasionally steal glances from each other and whenever their eyes met, both hearts would skip a beat and a sweet smile would be evident in their faces.

They painted a portrait of sheer joy as they engaged in a light yet meaningful conversation filled with laughter and smiles. Jin was the center of attention and her mom was his fan. Once in a while, her father would randomly crack some jokes and funny stories and Donghae and Karin listened eagerly.

Sensing that the two needed some time alone, her mom asked her husband and Jin to play a game of scrabble with her. Her husband caught the signals she has been sending and readily agreed, following her to the living room. Jin was somehow insensitive and insisted on staying with Donghae and Karin as he indulged himself on the sweets.

“Jinnie~” she called once again, a bit impatient, but still with poise. “Let’s play scrabble. If you win, I’ll pack all of the treats for you to bring back to Seoul.” She knows that Jin won’t be able to resist.

“Really?! Game on!” he skipped happily towards the living room. “Auntie, I won’t go easy on you,” he said cheekily, sitting comfortably on the floor as he opened the box. Husband and wife exchanged knowing glances and looked towards the dining area.

Silence fell between them and both suddenly felt awkward being left alone with each other. His mind was filled with thoughts of her and he didn’t know how to start. There was so much going on in his mind and heart that he was left speechless.

Karin caught him staring at her and her cheeks turned a light shade of pink instantly. She looked away, embarrassed. She suddenly felt shy in front of the man she loves. Her heart was beating rapidly and she was getting rattled. He was about to start the conversation when she suddenly stood up and sta
