And I think the first sign you notice when you begin to gain feelings towards a person, is just how easily you get jealous when they give others the attention you crave.

23^rd August 2014

 “Kai’s clothes would always be put in the Exo-K rack.”

“The Bobbi Brown’s makeup kit belongs only to him, so remember not to share it with other members or the sponsors won’t be very happy.”

“Because you are still new, just get use to all these things first. After sometime I will ask Sungwoo and Boyoung to teach you basic touch up.”

“Neh.” Jieun listened to the older female intently as she jotted every single thing she had said in her brown notebook. She followed behind her as she told her what is expected of her from this new job. Although it seems like there was a lot of things for her to learn, she didn’t mind at all. The new environment excites her and she felt happy that she could finally fulfill something on her own without the Kim sisters.

“Okay, that’s about all.” The older female turned around and looked at the girl who was pretty enough to debut as an artist. It was such a pity that she couldn’t be signed because of her complicated background that they all knew since 2 years ago. “I need you to separate Kai’s outfit from the rest and bring it to the van. We will leave in half an hour for his next schedule.”

“Sure!”

Walking back to Exo’s changing area with light steps, Jieun flipped through her notebook intently, going through whatever she was being taught earlier. She wanted to get a hang of this job as fast as she could, she didn’t want to impose on anyone anymore. Most importantly, she didn’t want to make Jongin look bad.

If it wasn’t him who knocked on her bedroom door a few days ago, asking her if she was interested in becoming his personal assistant, she wouldn’t get this job today. He told her that his company was looking for a personal assistant for him but he didn’t like the idea of strangers working with him so he thought of her since they are cousins. As much as Jieun was taken aback that Jongin actually asked for her help for the first time in 2 years that they had talked, she agreed right away; realizing that he doesn’t dislike her that much afterall.

Jieun swiftly took out Kai’s blazors, it wasn’t difficult when his nametag was pinned on the outside. Moving on to the next rack where it hung their white button down, she was lost. They were all in a variety of sizes and she has no idea what size Kai wears. Biting her lips, she fumbled the hangers nervously. It was her first task and she didn’t want to be deemed as incapable, she was sure she could figure it out somehow.

“12. Kai wears size 12.”

“Kai is the only one who wears size 12 among us.”

“Oh, Sehun-ah.”

Hopping off the table, Sehun approached her with a soft gaze. For the past half an hour, he had been sitting at the furthest corner in the room, observing her every move. He had a fun time watching her how her facial expression changes within seconds easily, it was just too interesting to tear his eyes away. One moment she can be picking out the clothes with a satisfied smile, and the next moment, her eyebrows would be furrowing and she would frown. If not, she would crook her head, pursed her lips or even scrunch her nose. Within that short period of time, he probably saw at least 30 different expressions from her. And those 30 different expressions actually gave him this weird tickling in his chest.

“I didn’t notice that you were here.”

“That’s all right,” Sehun smiled weakly as he mumbled, “Nobody ever does.”

“Sorry, you were saying? I didn’t hear you.”

“I said, Kai wears size 12. He is the only one in Exo that wears size 12.”

“Thanks Hunnie, what do I do without you huh?” Jieun pinched his cheeks which Sehun gladly let her, beaming into her big black eyes with his signature eye-smile. Now that she has a job, and she gets to work alongside with her only close friend, things just couldn’t get better than this.

“And that red shoes is his.” Pointing to the pair of shoes that stood out from the rest of the boring black canvas one, he told Jieun, “Kai’s shoes are different from us.”

“Oh how come?” Jieun picked up the shoes swiftly and packed it into the bag that was beside Sehun as she asked.

Shrugging his shoulders, Sehun folded his arms as he leaned onto the table edge, a soft sigh escaping his lips. “Maybe he’s the lead dancer?”

He didn’t know why the company always gives him the most outstanding clothes, get him exclusive sponsorship and additional schedule after all the trouble he had caused them. They couldn’t drop him, yes he understood that but he just couldn’t understand why is it only him who gets special treatment among the 11 of them. His fanbase is on par with him, but why is it that he gets a personal assistant and of all people Jieun?

“What about you?” Jieun looked up at him, “I think you dance as well as Jongin.”

Releasing his lower lips, Sehun lifted his head to meet Jieun’s black innocent eyes blinking at him. From them, he could see something that was burning for him and instantly, the bitterness at the tip of his tongue disappeared. “Really? You think I do?”

“Jieun! We are leaving in 15! Get the things down now!”

Before she could give a reply, they were interrupted. But to Sehun, it was already sufficient. Grabbing the bag of clothes that was beside him, he ruffled her black hair. “Let’s go. I help you carry it down.”

“Thanks Hunnie.” Jieun reached up to pinch his cheeks after placing the things into the van Kai would be taking. This time, Sehun reached up to pinch hers lightly, causing her to scrunch her nose as they stood in front of one another in SM’s underground carpark.

“Oh, I got something for you as a present for your first day of work.”

Sehun watched how Jieun froze at the sight of the present in her hand, running her other hands over it lightly and he broke into a wider smile. How he loves to buy her presents in order to see such a precious expression. “I hope you like it.”

“What you talking about?” Jieun punched his arms playfully, he just got her a handphone, something she had been wanted to have for 2 years. She thought she could only get it after getting her second pay because she wanted to give her first pay to Aunt and Uncle Kim who are almost like her parents, but now, she didn’t have to wait and she got it. “I love it!”

“Hahah, I’m glad.” Reaching up to ruffle her soft black hair uncontrollably, Sehun pulled her close to him. “Let’s take a photo together and set it as your wallpaper.”

“Oh, I can do that?”

“Hahaha, of course you can silly girl. Come, let’s do it now.” Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, he leaned his head towards her as Jieun did the same. Both of them give a V sign and laughed at how comical they both looked when it appeared on the Samsung’s phone screen.

“It’s time to go Jieun.” One of the staff reminded her and the couple turned around to see Kai board the van without sparing them a glance. It was as though Sehun and her were not there at all. Jieun sighed at his indifference silently, she wanted to befriend her cousin like Sehun too. Why was he just so difficult to get to?

“Coming!” Jieun turned to Sehun thanking him once again before around to leave with the crew. However, before she could board the van, Sehun grabbed hold of her wrist.

“Jieun! My number is on speed dial 1. If there’s anything, just call me okay?”

“Okay! Thank you Hunnie, see you tomorrow!”

“See you.” Sehun let go of her hand unwillingly as he stood at the same spot and watched Jieun board the van that was slowly disappearing. How he wished he could be the person in the van instead, then her smile wouldn’t disappear when Kai didn’t acknowledge her earlier.

With a sigh, he slowly walked towards his car till his phone in his backpocket vibrated.

I can tell you now that it will be awesome!

“Silly girl.” Sehun laughed to himself as he boarded the driver seat, he could almost see her smiling at him through those eyes of hers and his chest started to tickle once again. He had never known of anyone who actually believed that he was enough, not even his parents.

Kim Jieun is the first.

No one had ever told him that he dances as well as Kai. No one, except Jieun.

Placing his hand over his chest, a blissful smile formed on his handsome as he thought to himself.

Sorry for the lack of updates for almost 2 weeks. Had just submitted my 3000 word essay that fried my brain on Sunday.

I'm picking up my pace to write again. Updates won't be as regular over the next few weeks because of my upcoming Korean TOPIK Exam in 11days and uni exam in 16 days. But I will try to write whenever I'm taking a break. (:
