Choi Minho
Forget Me Not“So, you just came back from Kangwondo this afternoon?” Minho asked, as the coffee was being served to us.
I nodded, and took a sip of my coffee. “Yes, just this afternoon.”
“You went there for a what?”
“For vacation.” LIE, of course. Am I supposed to tell him that I went there for me to learn chores? I would sound like a crazy person if I did.
“Oh, I see. Did you have a great time?”
“Of course. I enjoyed my stay there.” I enjoyed my stay there because of Key.
“I wanted to visit that place ever since I was fifteen, but I never had the chance.”
“Why?”
“I was too busy with work. With our company.”
“Ever since you were fifteen?”
He shook his head. “Ever since I was thirteen,”
“I guess you didn’t enjoy your childhood that much,”
He smiled. “Of course I did. I only played video games and watched movies inside my office until I was fifteen, and my secretary was kind enough to do all of my unattended works. Until my father discovered what I’ve been doing.”
I laughed gently. “You’re a very mean boss.”
He smiled. “I know I am. What about you? Did you enjoy your childhood?”
I shook my head. “No. I didn’t.”
“Why?”
“My mother got sick when I was thirteen, and she died when I was fifteen,”
His smile slowly disappeared. “Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.”
“No, it’s okay. I’m okay.. I guess..”
“You love your mother that much?”
“I love her with all my heart.. I never knew that I could live without her.”
“But you did, and I’m happy for you.”
“Thank you, Minho.”
Minho and I talked about a lot of things while having coffee. I found some things interesting in him. He’s into sports, that explains his well-built body, and like me, he does not have a very good relationship with his father.
Minho and Key are two different people. They have different interests, things they like, things they dislike, and their way of life. Key is like a gentle soul, who’d rather choose to wander around a quiet place, just like Kangwondo. Minho, on the other hand, is strong and competitive, who chose to live in a place like Seoul.
“Who gave you your necklace?” Minho suddenly asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Oh, this?” I said, as I touched my necklace. I smiled. “My boyfriend gave it to me,”
“You have a boyfriend?”
“Yes, I have.”
He smiled. “That’s good,” he told me. I can sense the sincerity in his tone as he said those words.
“Thanks,” I stood up. “I better go. I’m still tired. I just got home from Kangwondo this afternoon, and headed straight to the hotel, so I didn’t have time to rest,”
He stood up, too. “Okay. I’m sorry I was the reason why you needed to come back immediately,”
I shook my head. “No, it’s okay. It’s my pleasure to meet you, Minho. See you some other time,” I said, and then bowed at him.
He bowed, too. “It’s my pleasure to meet you, too, Minyoung,”
I smiled at him, and then left.
