Bonding Time Needed
Dark Lake Academy“So what’s up?” Hyuk asked, dropping down onto Leo’s bed.
“Will it take very long?” Hongbin questioned, sitting down beside the young werewolf, “Hyuk needs to change in an hour or so.”
“I’ll be fine,” Hyuk assured the other, “so long as I change sometime tonight, it will be alright.”
“Hopefully we’ll be done by then,” N said, “or do you want to go now?”
“Let’s do whatever we’re here for first,” Hyuk decided.
“You sure?” Ken questioned, “Could take a while.”
“I’m sure,” Hyuk nodded, “so what’s up?”
“We haven’t been hanging out together much anymore,” N said, sitting down on Hyuk’s other side.
“We do homework together,” Ravi said while sitting down by the window, “………I see your point.”
“Exactly,” Ken nodded, “we don’t hang out like we used to. We don’t even talk like we used to.”
“I think we’re all to blame for this,” N said, “well, Ken and Leo aren’t. They’ve tried to spend time with all of us, but…….”
“I never even noticed,” Hongbin hung his head, “I was so focused on fixing my relationship with Hyuk, I didn’t even think about what was happening to my relationship with all of you.”
“Same,” Ravi frowned, clearly mad at himself, “I’ve been spending all my time training or with Sori that I just…….forgot that you guys are important to me as well.”
“I’ve been even worse than all of you,” Hyuk scowled, “I stopped talking to you ages ago. And just when I started opening up again, I shut back up and shut you all out. Even when Hongbin hyung pointed out that I was doing that, I only let him in.”
“We’ve all being doing it to one degree or another,” Leo said, hoping to make the others feel a bit less guilty.
“What matters is that we realize it,” Ken grinned, “and that we fix it now. I don’t want to be forty and not talking to you guys.”
“You’re right, hyung,” Hyuk smiled brightly, “we promised we’d all grow up and old together and we shouldn’t forget that promise.”
“We could all start training together,” Hongbin suggested, “just the six of us. We can use it as a bonding activity.”
“Yeah,” N smiled, “and we can set time aside right before bed to talk about how our day went.”
“Sounds good,” Ravi said, “but what about other stuff? Like tutoring Lito and training with the others?”
“Kill joy,” Hyuk muttered, earning a glare from Ravi.
“I’m being a realist,” Ravi snapped, “sorry for trying to be the voice of reason.”
“He’s got a point,” Leo said, moving to ruffle Hyuk’s hair, “we can’t always hang out together. We have other things that need to be done and other people we need to spend time with.”
“We can at least meet up once a week to spend a few hours together,” Ken said, tying to sound hopeful.
“That’s do-able,” N nodded, trying to sound excited.
“I think we can all hang out together over the whole weekend,” Hongbin interjected, “or even just spend one whole day together.”
“And we can still get together to do homework,” Hyuk nodded, grinning brightly, “we can talk and share about our day during that.”
“We can all tutor Lito together,” Ken finished, “after all, he came to all of us for help with his school stuff.”
“They’re right,” N smiled, “all of that is totally do-able.”
“Then we do exactly that,” Hongbin said, earning nods and smiles from the others, “starting tomorrow?”
“I’m free,” Leo said.
“Same here,” Ken laughed.
“Big bro and I don’t have any plans,” Hyuk said, throwing an arm around Hongbin’s shoulders.
“Suho canceled our training session,” N said, “so I’ve got the whole day free.”
“I’m free, too,” Ravi said, “so it’s a date.”
The six shared bright smiles, overjoyed that they would be fixing their friendship.
A/N: sorry this chapter is so short this week, guys. It’s…..been a weird week. Just……yeah. Maybe it’s all the time I spend outside in the sun (it’s been really hot the past few weeks) making me feel…….off and unfocused. Next week’s update will be the normal length, promise. again, super sorry!
