“,” Kris winced, slowly getting up, “the hell was that?”

“Don’t know,” Hyoyeon whimpered, clutching her left arm, “but it hurt.”

“Heesun?” Kris asked, looking over at the werewolf who was silent, “Heesun?”

“She’s alive,” Hyoyeon was quick to assure him after checking for a pulse, “just knocked out.”

“Damn it,” Kris hissed, not at all sure what to do now.

He couldn’t carry Heesun around, it was too dangerous. But he also couldn’t just leave her where she was. That was probably even more dangerous because if she was with him, at least he could try to protect her. If she was alone and knocked out, he couldn’t save herself if someone came along and tried to hurt her. And then there was Hyoyeon. He could tell just by looking at her that her arm was badly broken.

“Kris?” the pair jumped, Kris jumping up to defend the girls who were currently unable to defend themselves.

“Suho?” Hyoyeon sighed as the dragon peeked around the corner of the hole she, Kris, and Heesun had created.

“Are you guys alright?” Krystal asked, peeking around the corner as Suho started trying to enter through the hole without bringing any more of the wall down.

“Heesun’s out cold,” Kris explained, “and Hyoyeon’s arm is broken.”

“Kris is bleeding,” Hyoyeon added, “he must have gotten smashed in the head with something. Other than that, we’re good.”

“Where are Chen and Kai?” Suho asked, looking around for the werewolf brothers.

“They didn’t get blasted in her with us,” Kris told his partner what he’d heard, “they stayed in the hall with the guys chasing us. When they realized that the guys who’d been after us were getting up, they decided to lure them away from here.”

“Do you know if they’re alright?” Suho asked, helping Hyoyeon to stand.

“Chen said something about his side,” Kris frowned, “but Kai seemed fine. A bit dazed, but fine.”

“I don’t smell that much blood,” Taeyang called from the hall, “well, not enough to be worried anyway.”

“You sure?” Suho asked.

“As sure as I can be,” Taeyang nodded, “any they’re much better than the guys chasing them. If they don’t drop dead by the end of the day from blood loss, then I’ll tell my step-mom that I love her.”

“Where are Chanyeol and Baekhyun?” Hyoyeon asked, deciding to ignore Taeyang’s comment.

“We got separated in a blast,” Suho admitted, “we walked into a hall that was rigged to blow and…..they were too far behind us.”

“,” Kris hissed.

“I smelled a lot of blood,” Taeyang said, voice small, “but I’m not sure if it was them. There was too much of it from too many people to tell.”

“Oh god,” Hyoyeon whimpered, mind filling with all the horrible things that could have happened to the pair of fallen.

“What about you guys?” Kris asked, not wanting to think about what Taeyang’s words meant for even a second.

“Suho took most of the blast,” Krystal explained, “his back is a bit of a mess. Taeyang’s already healed his cuts and scrapes.”

“Krystal’s ankle is pretty badly twisted,” Suho frowned, “maybe…..maybe we should leave her, Hyoyeon, and Heesun someplace.”

“What?” Krystal growled, “I’m fine.”

“You can’t walk without help,” Taeyang told her, “it’s not smart to let you keep going.”

“Jessica will kill us,” Hyoyeon nodded.

“But you guys need help,” the shifter tried to argue.

“Hey,” Taeyang whispered, suddenly freezing. No one heard him.

“We’ll be fine,” Suho assured Krystal, “right now, after everything else, I just want to prevent anymore injuries.”

“Hey!” Taeyang snapped, cutting off Krystal’s reply before she could even open , “shut up for a second.”

“What’s wrong?” Kris asked after a moment.

“Someone’s coming,” Taeyang hissed, moving to push Krystal and Hyoyeon back through the hole, “lots of someone’s. They’re running this way. I can hear something metal clanking as they move. Don’t know what it is, but I know it can’t be good for us.”

“Get in there,” Kris hissed, practically throwing Taeyang in after the girls, “hide under the rubble or something, but don’t dare make a sound. I’ll set your on fire if I hear a peep from any of you.”

“Right,” Hyoyeon nodded, moving to the back of the room and ducking behind some desks. The others follow after her, Taeyang grabbing Heesun as he moved pass where she was passed out.

“We’ve got this,” Suho growled, scales appearing along his arms and neck.

A few seconds later, the people Taeyang had heard turned the corner and opened fire on the dragons. Suho only had a second to wrap his wings around him to avoid the onslaught of bullets and even then he wasn’t fast enough to totally protect himself. He still felt as a couple bullets rip through his stomach and several more pierce his legs. It was all the dragon could do to hold back the cry of pain that wanted to escape his mouth.

For a moment, Suho wondered if this was how he was going to die. Gunned down in some hallway, away from most of the people he loved. He wondered if he’d live long enough to see Kris die too. If he’d hear their friends hiding behind the desks die and be unable to do anything to stop it. Suho felt fear wash over him.

And then came the anger.

He refused to die!

These people had already taken friends from him. He remembered Lay’s broken on the ground, Hyuna’s limp form being carried by Baekhyun, and Hyuk’s bloody corpse that Hongbin had desperately tried to breathe new life into.

He wasn’t going to let him name be added to that list.

He wasn’t going to let any of his friends in this hall be add to that list.

Water started swirling around him in a brutal vortex before shooting off in the direction of those firing at him at an alarming speed.

The men with the guns never stood a chance against the water dragon’s intense fury.

A/N: this chapter was a bit hard to write. It’s…….it’s been a week. Got some……things going on right now. Please, don’t ask. I don’t really wanna talk about it.
