Meeting the Brother

Dark Lake Academy

“You sure about this?” Jessica asked, “You can skip the whole afternoon and no one will say anything. I’ll even lie and say Jihu asked you to come on patrol with him if anyone asks.”

“Need to face it sometime,” Sori sighed, trying to make her way to the shifter designated training field only to have Krystal pull her back.

“We haven’t gotten a chance to catch up,” the younger said, hugging Sori’s arm tightly, “come on, let’s go and talk. You couldn’t have just trained while at the ISBIP base, right?”

“Let her go,” Ravi said, pulling Krystal off as carefully as he could.

“You can’t be serious,” Jessica hissed, pulling Ravi back, “you can’t just let her do this.”

“If she wants to do it,” Ravi replied, “then I can’t do anything to stop her.”

“He’s right,” Lay nodded, “and she’s going to run into him eventually.”

“Sooner it happens the better,” Hyoyeon added, “at least this way we’re there to support her.”

“Fine,” Jessica sighed, “but if it looks like she’s upset, I’m going to drag her out of there right away.”

“Deal,” Ravi said, “I’ll do the same.”

“Hurry up,” Sori said, turning around slightly, “we’re going to be late.”

“Coming,” Ravi said, rushing forewords to fall into step with Sori. The others fell into step with them as well, casting worried glances at Sori.

“You kids are so close to being late,” Jihu commented, looking up from the new class list in his hands, “I hope this isn’t going to be the new trend.”

“Wait,” Jessica blinked, “you’re our teacher?”

“Yes,” Jihu nodded.

“But you’re a werewolf,” Krystal frowned, “and an ISBIP agent.”

“A high ranking agent,” Lay quickly added.

“Right,” Hyoyeon nodded, “and this is a class for shifters. One normally supervised by a shifter.”

“One sent from the council,” Sori scowled, “which begs the question of what you’re doing here.”

“The council is refusing to send anyone to handle this class,” Jihu sighed, “after the explosion, they claim that it’s unsafe for them to send anyone.”

“Right,” Jessica frowned, recalling a talk she’d had with her own parents about returning to Dark Lake, “They’re using the explosion as an excuse to drag kids away from this place.”

“We almost didn’t get to come back,” Krystal nodded, glaring at the ground, “mom and dad were super against it.”

“Well you’re here now,” Lay said, trying to turn the dark mood happy with his smile and words, “so let’s get class started.”

“Lay is right,” Sori said, turning to look at the students gathered, “we’ve got some new students, even with the council’s influence.”

“A few,” Jihu nodded, turning back to his list, “Sori, you’re our best student. Why don’t you introduce yourself.”

“Fine,” Sori nodded, completely ignoring the worried looks the others sent each other before turning their worried gazes to her.

“Alright,” Jihu looked to the group of students, “class is going to start. Everyone gather around.”

Everyone did as told, but Sori stayed standing beside Jihu. Ravi kept glancing between Sori and the students around him, trying to locate Sori’s brother. He wished that he’d spent more time paying attention to his classmates before the dorm explosion. Maybe then it would be easier to figure out which one was related to Sori.

“Welcome back everyone who was already in attendance at Dark Lake,” Jihu said, smiling slightly in greeting, “and welcome to all of our new students. I’m Kim Jihu and I’ll be your teacher until the headmistress can find a shifter able to handle your class. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce all of our new students to a special student we have in attendance.”

“Hello,” Sori said, stepping forewords, “I’m Shin Sori.”

Whispers broke out among the new students, all excited to meet one of the five strongest shifters in the world. Many of the existing students also started to whisper, sharing stories of the awesome and amazing things they had seen Sori do. Like surviving an attempt on her life. Ravi noticed one student, however, who wasn’t whispering about Sori.

This student just stared at her, eyes wide and mouth slightly open. Ravi felt a growl building up in his throat. Sure the kid looked young, maybe only twelve or thirteen, but it still annoyed Ravi that this kid clearly had a crush on Sori. Just as Ravi was about to make his way over to the kid, the kid rushed forewords and wrapped his arms around Sori’s waist.

“Big sis!” the kid cried, hugging Sori tightly, “you’re here! Mom and Dad said you would, but I didn’t believe them! I never thought I would get to see you! I’m so happy that I finally get to met you! Mom and Dad are gonna be so happy when they come for parent’s day and find you and me waiting for them on the front steps!”

“What?” Sori managed to get out, trying to ignore the loud gossip already going on between the kids gathered and the shocked faces of her friends, “who?”

“I’m Minjun,” the kid smiled, “but I like to be called Lito.”

“That isn’t what she meant,” Ravi said, biting back a growl as he rushed forewords to pull Lito off of Sori, “who are you and why are you hugging her?”

“I’m her brother,” Lito hissed, struggling out of Ravi’s hold.

A/N: I know that is chapter is shorter than normal, but this felt like the perfect place to end it. And cheers for Lito of the group Legend entering the story!!!! It’s pretty likely the rest of the members are gonna end up in a future chapter, too. Next chapter: Lito explains how he knows Sori is his sister when he’s supposed to have never heard of her.

Chapter 134: ...damn. It's finally over, isn't it? Well, it's not really over, considering there's going to be a sequel and the cliffhanger, but..
Well anyway, it's been a wonderful journey reading this story. So much has happened and I can't really believe this story is now finished, haha.
