What he Wants

Dark Lake Academy

Ravi was walking down the hallway with Sori, asking her for tips about how to win against Haruhi, when they saw him.he was walking down the hall coming the other way, free of all guards and that fact alone seemed to freeze Sori in her tracks.

“Oh,” Kim Jihoo smiled when he noticed Sori, “it’s been some time since I last had the chance to share words with you, Sori.”

“Yes,” Sori nodded and Ravi could hear a very subtle shaking in her voice, “it has.”

“How are you?” Jihoo asked, “I’m so sorry to hear about your school. I trust that the dorms will be repaired soon.”

“I’ve been well,” she replied, “Agent Jihu said that the dorms should be ready in a few months.”

“That’s good to hear,” Jihoo turned his attention to Ravi, “You’re.....Ravi, correct? The young shifter. A pleasure to meet you.”

“Same,” Ravi nodded, hoping that he’d succeeded in faking the correct tone so Jihoo didn’t know how unhappy he was to have the older shifter near him.

“I hear that you were raised by humans,” Jihoo said, “might I ask how that went?”

“It was fine,” Ravi replied, trying to avoid saying much of anything.

“Just fine?” Jihoo raised an eyebrow and Ravi knew that the other knew exactly what he was feeling and thinking, “don’t hold out on me, boy. I’m just curious.”

“I’m sure he’s just nervous being so close to such an important council member,” Sori spoke up, drawing Jihoo’s eyes back to herself.

“Right,” Jihho laughed, clearly faking it, “i sometimes forget how my position on the council can make others feel......uncomfortable.”

“We all respect you so much,” Sori lied, “we’re scared that we might say the wrong thing and upset you. No one wants you to look down on us.”

“Speaking of the council,” Jihoo frowned ever so slightly, “I was saddened to hear that you wouldn’t be able to join us. Not so long as you’re an ISBIP agent.”

“I’m sorry,” Sori looked down, faking shame, “I was just so mad about all the attacks. I thought that being with the ISBIP would help me bring the people responsible to justice.”

“I could have helped you,” Jihoo said, getting super close to Sori, “if you had asked nicely.”

Ravi bit back a growl as he watched Jihoo run his fingers along Sori’s jaw and through her hair. Sori looked.......completely blank. Ravi couldn’t find even a hint of emotion coming from her. That was......kind of scary to be honest. Sori was never this cold, even when they weren’t friends she still showed some form of emotion in, like, her eyes or the slight twitch of her lips.

“There you are,” all three turned to find Jihu walking down the hallway towards them, “Sori, Ravi. You’re late for training.”

“I’m sorry,” Jihoo apologized, throwing an arm around Ravi’s shoulders while the other was wrapped around Sori’s hips, “I’m afraid I distracted them. I wanted to know how their lives are going. It’s my job after all. Knowing how other shifters are doing.”

“It’sa a good thing to do,” Jihu nodded, “but i must take my charges for now.”

“Alright then,” Jihoo nodded, shoving Ravi forewords without a care for his well being, “how fun.” He softly pushed Sori towards Jihu after brushing her hair out of her face one last time.

“Have a good day, Council man Jihoo,” Jihu nodded before leading both teenagers away.

The three walked in silence, no one daring to even utter the smallest sound. Ravi and Jihu kept casting small glances over to Sori, both feeling uncomfortable with how blank her expression was.

“Soru,” Jihu finally said, “are you alright?”

“I hate that man,” she said, voice just above a whisper.

“I know,” he nodded, “i think we all hate him. Something......is very wrong with that man.”

“The way he looked at Sori,” Ravi spoke up, “the way he touched her........does he want something from her?”

“I’ve always suspected he wants something,” jihu nodded, deep frown on his face, “I just don’t know what it is.”

“He hasn’t taken a mate yet,” Sori spoke up, voice just as empty as her face, “and he’s very strong. It doesn’t take much thought to connect the dots.”

“What?” both males reacted negatively, shouting that Jihoo would never be allowed to take her as a mate against her will. That Sori would never want to be the mate of someone like him.

“I don’t plan to be his mate,” she sighed, a bit of emotion finally leaking into her voice, “i don’t need you two to help me with that. But the thought is appreciated.”

“You’ll be fine,” Jihu patted her shoulder, “he’ll be leaving in a few days to return to his own home. You won’t have to worry about running into him after that.”

“I know,” she nodded, “i just have to last for a few more days.”

“You shouldn’t be alone,” Ravi spoke up, “you should always have someone with you while he’s still here.”

“He’s right,” Jihu nodded, “but we can’t be obvious about doing it, either. If he knows what we’re doing, he’ll take actions to prevent us from succeeding.”

“I’ll think of something,” Sori said after a long moment, “just.....need some time to clear my head.” Jihu nodded in understanding.

Ravi found himself wondering if he should tell the others about what was going on. They had a right to know, didn’t they? And this was a development after all. After all those phone calls to the others that turned up nothing, this was something that might help them. Ravi knew in his gut that Jihoo was involved in everythingand now they knew something that he wanted; Sori.

Now, Ravi wasn’t about to suggest that they use Sori to get to Jihoo. He wouldn’t use her like that. But if they could keep him from getting close to what he wanted......that might turn up something. He might snap, revealing his plan or even just part of it. Honestly, they needed a clue, any kind of clue, because they had nothing.

“You go in ahead, Sori,” Jihu said as the three came to a stop in front of the training room doors, “i want to talk to Ravi for a few minutes.”

“Alright,” she nodded before heading inside.

“Ravi,” Jihu sighed, “don’t tell anyone about what Jihoo wants.”

“Why not?” the young shifter questioned, “they should know.”

“And how do you think they’ll react?” Jihu questioned, “they’ll give away that we know, trying to protect Sori. I’m not saying that we never tell them, just that we wait until Jihoo is gone.”

“Alright,” Ravi sighed, understanding what Jihu was talking about.

If the others knew, they would make a point of always being near Sori. It would be painfully clear that they were trying to make sure she was never alone and Jihoo wouldn’t be long figuring out who they were keeping her from. From there......Ravi didn’t know what he would do. The only thing he knew for sure was that Jihoo would do something to get Sori alone. If he got her alone, then all bets were off. No one knew what he would do to Sori, just that it would be bad.

“Jihu!” Sori suddenly yelled, throwing open the doors, “N saw Biho. Whatever they had keeping him in one place isn’t working anymore.”

“What did he tell N?” Jihu asked, rushing into the room.

“He didn’t say much,” N frowned slightly, “they still aren’t letting him hear anything important. He only just got free of the spell a few minutes ago and came straight here to make sure that we were all ok.”

“Too bad,” Kris sighed, “i was hoping we could find out something about our enemy.”

“He says he’ll try harder next time,” N reported.

“Don’t try too hard,” Sori advised, knowing that Biho could hear her even if she couldn’t hear him, “we can’t risk them catching you.”

“He said he’ll try,” N said, “but he can’t promise anything. He has to keep us kids safe.”

“Wait,” Haruhi spoke up, “Biho? As in our Biho?”

“Yeah,” Jihu smiled sadly, “they killed him. We just don’t know when.”

“Crap,” Haruhi cursed, “these losers aren’t playing around, are they?”

“No,” Kris spoke up, “and we need a clue soon. I’m sick of chasing our tails.”

Ravi bit his lip, trying not to slip what he knew. He would tell them, just not now.

A/N: so, who hates Jihoo? Don’t think i needed to ask but *shrug* lot for words right now so might as well say it. In other news: 235 subscribers?? For this? . Thank you everyone!!! <3 much love. Like, you have no idea how happy i am seeing that number.
