Doubts
The MaskJinah ran and ran, not knowing what to do. She was so lost and blinded by what she heard. ‘Luhan is the reason why my parents died.’ She took a sharp turn at the corner and lost Luhan. She was crouching down in the corner, silently crying her heart out. All the years of pain, misery and being lost was all because of Luhan. The truth was too much to handle for her. How cruel could the world get? Why of all people must it be Luhan? The one whom she loved with all my heart, the one she was willing to give up everything to, the one she was willing to go through hell for was the one who made her turn into a bad leaf during her teenage years.
The flower that she bought for her parents’ death anniversary had been thrown somewhere down the road. ‘So, that’s why Luhan said he can’t make it. Because he’s paying parents a visit, too. At least he has some respect left inside him.’ She chuckled bitterly, but started crying again at the thought of Luhan causing her parents’ death. Then, her mind became a whole new level of mess again. She suddenly reminisced everything they had together. The first time they met, he was so kind not only to her, but to everyone. The first time they talked alone, he was so gentle and kind. The first time they teased, it wasn’t overboard as they were just getting to know each other and being comfortable with each other. The first time they played games, their laugh was heartily and kind. The time where they had been involved in a scandal, he didn’t blame her. He knew she didn’t expect and wanted it to happen. She paused for a moment as she suddenly thought, ‘Did he plan this? For us to get closer and be forced into a relationship? And then he will make me fall for him so once I fall deep in love with him, it will be easier for me to forgive him for killing my parents.’
“Aahhhh!” she screamed like she had never screamed before. It was too much. She let the tears fall as much as they wanted to. Her tears were endless, and so was her pain. Her heart hurt so much that she couldn’t breathe properly. She had to calm down as she was afraid she would just collapse.
‘I was deceived by Luhan. He manipulated me. I was so dense to fall for his devious tricks. How can someone be so cruel? How could he make me fall for his tricks? How could he make up a lie just to cover up his sin?’
She stayed crouched on the pavement, ignoring the looks of the people that passed by. Minutes felt like hours to her. Her phone was still buzzing like crazy all because of Luhan. She switched her phone off and stood up with all her strength. It was difficult for her to get on her feet. She was really weak and she didn’t have the strength to stand up. She found it hard to even breathe. She took small, slow steps out of the alley. Her face was dried with tears, her hair was a mess, her shirt had faint and visible dots of liquid from the tears she shed.
She reached the payphone and slotted in some coins. She dialed the only number aside from Luhan that she memorized with her heart. She heard Kevin answer from the other line and she gulped as felt dry. “Kevin,” she muttered softly with her
