Date
The MaskLuhan rubbed the back of his head awkwardly as they walked aimlessly. It was his plan to take her out on a date, but he planned it so suddenly when he was not thinking properly.
‘What are we supposed to do? Where are we supposed to go?’
He sighed loudly in no purpose and looked away as his sighing caught her attention.
‘Great.’
“You know, we can watch a movie if you want. Maybe we can do window shopping too or walk in the park. How about we rent a bicycle and go cycling? Walking at the beach nearby doesn't sound so bad too. What do you think?” she recommended.
He was speechless for a while when she suggested. How could he not think of that?
“Is that your kind of a date?” he asked.
She seemed flustered and embarrassed, but he didn't intend to do that. She avoided his gaze and started walking without waiting for him. A smile spread on his lips and he followed her silently.
‘Cute.’
As he was trying to catch up with her speed, he noticed how her right hand looked so much bigger than her left hand. Then it occurred to him about the incident at the hospital.
“Is your hand still not healed completely?”
She pulled her hand away from his sight and answered, “I think I’ll give it a few more days before it completely heals.”
“But it has been almost a month. Is that normal?”
“I guess,” she swiftly answered and changed the topic, “Is there anything that you want to do?”
He thought about it for a while and it has been ages since he last watched a movie outside. A movie date right now would be preferable, but he doesn’t know what type of movie she watches. ‘Girls love romantic movies, right?’
“How about the newly released romantic movie?”
She looked at him in what he assumed was a face of disgust and said, “I didn’t know you’re that cheesy. I mean I know you are cheesy, but not to the extent that you are actually a fan of romantic movies.”
He heard her snort and he looked at her weirdly.
“I’m not a big fan of it, but I was thinking you like romantic movies.”
She sighed before saying, “I’m a girl, yes, but what I do and what I like are different from the usual girls. Perks of growing up with guys, Hannie.”
“Hannie?” He raised an eyebrow at her and felt the spark of annoyance. He despise being called girly nicknames.
“Yes, Hannie, since you are so cheesy and gir –“
He knew she was supposed to say ‘girly’, but she immediately shut . She must have learned her lesson last time when she thought he was going to kiss her when she tested his manliness.
“I love action movies. Do you watch action movies? I mean, of course, you do because you’re a guy. What am I saying?”
He watched her talked and argue with herself. ‘This girl is really weird, but her weirdness has its unique charm.’ He was already silently laughing at her, and she looked at him when she noticed he wasn’t answering.
“I should have known that based on your un-lady like actions. Let’s settle down with the action movie then.”
