Next Step
The MaskLuhan and Jinah were just getting stronger each day. It felt like as if she was in cloud nine with or without him. Just the fact alone that they together already riled up the butterflies in her stomach. Their relationship was sweet and pure. He had been the cheesiest, most annoying, yet, sweet and gentle boyfriend. He was everything Jinah could ask for. She didn’t even deserve him. He was too good for her.
Luhan had succeeded in making Jinah open up for him. She knew that she should be opening up more, but it was just that she was too scared of losing him.
‘Once he knows my past, who knows what he might do? Losing him has become my greatest fear. I couldn’t risk that. Well, some pasts are not meant to be told, right?’
He had been taking small, careful steps with Jinah. Luhan was a guy. And every guy had their needs. Jinah thought he would be that type of guy who would talk it carefully with their girlfriend to take the next step in their relationship, but no, he was far from that. He hadn’t even mentioned it or anything related to it not even once. Now that she thought of it, it made her curious on why he wasn’t doing anything about taking the next step; not that she was that eager to do it. Although they hadn’t done it, they did make out a few times. Making out between couples wasn’t new.
“Luhan,” Jinah called, still slightly unsure whether she should ask him or not.
“Hmm?” He was playing a game on his phone while his head was on her lap. They were in her apartment since it was his free day and he decided to just spend his free time alone with her. Sensing she didn’t reply him back, he paused his game and took her hand to his face that made her look at him. “What is it?”
“I-I’m just curious…” She breathed heavily. He just continued on looking at her while she played with the tip of his nose.
“About what?” He asked while he playfully bit her fingers and she pinched his nose in revenge, gaining a silent yelp from him. He chuckled afterwards and kissed the palm of her hands.
“Couples usually t-take the next step in their relationship after a few months. I-I’m just wondering why we… I mean you… no, I mean…” She stopped talking once she felt him stop playing with her hand. She even stuttered saying it. She wasn’t even clear on what she was trying to say. She was sure he was confused… or not.
At times like this, she just want to run away from him. His large eyes showing an intense look just made it worse for her. It was as if he was seeing right through her soul every time they talked this serious.
“Are you…” he started, probably thinking of all the possible thoughts she was trying to say. He suddenly sat up and looked at her while still holding my hand. She was looking at her feet and pressed her lips in a firm line. “Do you want to do it?” he asked bluntly.
Jinah’s eyes widened at his question and she quickly said, “What? No! I mean yes – no. I mean, no. That’s not what I’m trying to say.” The award for the most confusing talker ever goes to Jinah. She didn’t even understand what she was trying to say.
They stayed silent for a while, trying to process what was going in her head.
“If you’re curious why I haven’t taken the initiative to go to the next step yet, it’s because I don’t think you’re ready and I don’t want to pressure you.” He scooted closer and put his arms over her shoulder, pulling her closes to his body. “If you’re worried that I’m not attracted to you in that way, trust me, that’s not true. I’m attracted to you in all ways possible. It’s just that I know what type of girl you are and you’re not the type of girl that will put out easily. I know that you need to prepare not only physically, but also
