Part Forty-Six: Sunggyu

The Words Unsaid
Part Forty-Six
Sunggyu
The screen turn to blue as Sungjong’s face faded into nothingness.
The only sound that could be heard was the soft cries of Myungsoo and Sungyeol as they held each other tightly.
Hoya covered half his face with his hands and I was uncertain if the dancer was shedding tears over the message. Dongwoo was staring at the TV like a statue but that wasn’t what broke my heart. The spark in his eyes had dulled into nonexistent and the smile that never left his face was now a straight line. Then it hit me Dongwoo had done something I never thought he could do.
He lost hope.
CHHBANNG
I turn around to see Woohyun. Both of his hands were on the wall above his head. He rested his head against the wall as he let out a defeat sigh. Pain, anger, sadness and whatever feeling Woohyun had tuck away was now on display. I wanted to comfort him but I didn’t feel like I knew Woohyun anymore.
I didn’t know any of them anymore.
“It’s not fair,” Woohyun shouted as he slammed his fist against the wall again.
“Calm down,” I told him not wanting Woohyun to go on another rampage.
He swung around and I could see that his eyes were full of tears as his bottom lip quiver from all the nerves.
“You’re not the leader anymore,” Woohyun snapped at me making my heart drop.
I took a deep breath and looked at my broken members and I knew he was right I was no longer the leader of the 99% in sync boy band.
But I was still their brother and nothing could take that away.
“No I’m not a leader,” I told them standing up. “But I still care and nothing you can say can push me away. I know that I wasn’t there for you guys when I needed to be but I’m here now and no screaming, hitting, or name calling can pull me away from you guys. I know that it’s sad about Sungjong and if I had to throw away all my vitamins or never take a nap I would do it to save him. But this isn't a movie and Sungjong is not going to wake up.”
I swallowed hard trying to control the feelings that were about to burst.
“I would do anything for him but we have to let him go. It’s not fair for his family to see him lying there every day. We have to grant him his wishes then let him go. I know that none of us want to do it but think about his family and about him. Do you really think Sungjong wanted to become a living doll?  I know that it’s my fault that Sungjong is placed in this situation and I will forever live with the guilt of making him take my spot in the car,” I admitted my voice cracking.
“No it’s not,” Woohyun told me.
“He's right Hyung it’s not your fault,” Dongwoo added.
“Listen I’m the leader and it’s my responsibility to take care of all of you and I failed Sungjong. But right now in this moment I’m not going to fail him and his family again. Now if we are actually brothers of Sungjong then we need to do what is best for him now. As much as that kills me we still have to follow his parents’ wishes. So what do you guys say? Are we going to come together one last time for our beloved maknae or are you going to run?”
I looked at my bandmates unsure if my speech had any effect on them after all I was no longer a leader.
“It’s not your fault,” Dongwoo stood up from his spot on the floor.
“Stop,” I told him but Dongwoo just shook his head.
“I wanted food and I couldn’t wait a couple of hours till meal time. If I hadn’t been so greedy then Sungjong wouldn’t have died. So it’s not just your fault,” Dongwoo told me and I could see that there were tears already welling in his eyes. “If Sungjong wants us to solve these riddles and his family wants to say goodbye then we have to honor it.”
“But-” Woohyun looked at him.
“I know I put you guys in false hope because I thought I could find a way to cure him so I didn’t have to let him go. But now I know that this is what Sungjong wants so I will honor it.”
Dongwoo then stood by me and grabbed ahold of my hand tightly.
“I will join too,” Myungsoo said wiping away his eyes. “I know I haven’t been the best of friends while Sungjong has been away. I acted like a brat,” he admitted.
“Damn right you have,” I snapped at the young boy.
Myungsoo bow apologetically. “If this is the last request I can fulfill for Sungjong then let’s do it. Even though…” he frowned and I could tell that he was trying his hardest to pull it together. “Even though I have to say goodbye to my best friend. We have to do it.”
I nodded at Myungsoo as he grabbed ahold of Dongwoo's hand tightly.
Hoya stood looking at the three of us. “Out of everyone here I might have messed up the most. When you all left I didn’t know what to do so I did the only thing that came natural and that was fighting.”
Hoya took a deep breath. “You guys have to believe me when I say that I didn’t take the drugs. I would never do anything like that,” Hoya confessed.
I nodded because I honestly didn’t think that Hoya would have taken drugs. Why would he lie to us now?
“I didn’t mean for things to get so blown up. I should have been here with Sungjong instead of fighting in that ring. If this is what Sungjong wants then so be it.”
Myungsoo reached for Hoya’s hand.
“Really? We are going to hold hands?” Hoya looked at him.
“Just hold his hand,” I snapped and the dancer grabbed Myungsoo's hand.
“Sungyeol,” Myungsoo looked at the tallest member who was now rocking back and forth.
“No,” Sungyeol told Myungsoo.
“Come on Sungyeol we can’t do it without you,” Myungsoo told him.
“We can’t” I told Sungyeol. “Even though you goof around too much and you barely listen to me you're still apart of this group.”
“Sunggyu Hyung is right,” Hoya added.
“Fine!” Sungyeol raised his hands above his head then grabbed ahold of Hoya's hand.
The only person who was left was Woohyun who had his arms crossed and gaze glued to an off white wall.
“Woohyun,” I called for him.
He wouldn’t answer me instead he kept on staring at the wall.
“Woohyun,” I called for him once again.
He stood up from his spot and turn his attention to us.
“It will just hurt us in the end you know,” Woohyun pointed out. “If we say goodbye or if we don't it won’t matter to him because he won’t even know.”
“That is true but we would know that we didn’t grant his family's last wishes of saying goodbye and his wish to do this scavenger hunt,” I told him.
“Woohyun think of all the favors Sungjong done for you,” Myungsoo added.
“Can we least give him this one last gift?” I pointed out.
“Fine but if this causes us to be even more mess up then don’t blame me!” Woohyun snapped.
“Good I bet Sungjong will be happy to know that we are following his directions,” Dongwoo told Woohyun.
I could tell that Woohyun wanted to argue but instead he just looked at the floor.
“Listen I feel like it is only right to do this on our own. Solve your clue to the location that Sungjong has picked for you. After you are done with your clue we will meet back at the dorm to spend the night. The next day I will arrange a car to pick us up and we can go say goodbye to Sungjong,” I told the members.
“This isn’t going to wor-”
I glared at Woohyun causing him to stop midsentence.
“I will see you all tonight,” I told the group.
I grabbed ahold of my letter and felt my heart start to pound quickly.
What did Sungjong need to tell me?
 ♦
“This way,” I told Jongsuk as I used my crutches to walk down the hospital hallway.
It had felt as if I had been gone for years not a couple of days.
Although I wanted to figure out the clue I knew that first I needed to this scary mobster to Gayun. I was hoping that someone explained the situation to the girl before I showed up with her dead Appa.
“Stay right here,” Jongsuk told his two bodyguards when we reached the children’s wing.
The two men nodded and took a seat in the waiting room.
“Though here,” I said as I pushed the blue button that automatically open the doors for us. I couldn’t help but think about what the outcome would be.
Would Gayun be angry at me for going behind her back even though I had the right intentions?
Would she hug me even though she didn’t really look like a hugging type of person. Maybe I would at least get a high five from the girl.
No matter how Gayun reacted I couldn’t help but have a little pep in my step. I was going to reunite a family and that was something not everyone can say they help achieved.
Nope no matter how this went down I was prou-
Screaming consumed the hallway making me halt in my tracks.
Fear crept down my spine as I turn my head to look around the hallway for the source of the sound.
“What the…”Jongsuk gasp with his mouth wide open.
“LET ME GO!” her voice screamed cutting me out of my state.
“Gayun!” I shouted as I started to limp towards her room as quickly as I could.
Jongsuk was quick on my tail with a worried expression. I'm sure he could have made it to her room quicker than I could but that is only if he knew where her room was.
By the time I made it to her room her shouts were becoming loud and full of panic.
I swing open her door to be met with Gayun’s chubby cheek full of tears as two men were trying to grab ahold of her arms but she was wiggling out of their grasp.  There was a woman from before holding of a clipboard with a permanent frown on her face.
“Sunggyu?” she looked up at me with surprise.
“What’s going on here?” I looked at the women who eyes were now in slits as she looked me up and down.
“Unfortunately for you Mr. Kim Gayun has been placed in a home and there is nothing you can do about it,” Mrs. Jung smirked.
“Ah there is nothing Sunggyu can do but I can do a whole lot,” Jongsuk smirked as he stood next to me.
“And who are you,” she snapped looking up Jongsuk with the same nasty scowl on her face.
“If you have to know I’m her Appa.”
Gayun gasped loudly and looked questionably at me as if she was searching for the truth.
I nodded yes and Gayun’s feet lost balance and she went flying to the floor. Luckily for her there were two men who had already grabbed onto her arms before she fully hit the floor.
“Mr. Kim you cannot bring a stranger here and claim that it’s this girl’s Appa,” the women snapped. “You could bring your gardener here for all I know.”
“I’m her Appa my name is Lee Jongsuk and this is my daughter Gayun,” he told the woman.
“Like I can believe that,” the women pointed out.
“Here,” Jongsuk brought out a white envelope and handed it to the women.
“What is this,” she asked as she held on to it with two fingers as if it contained the plague.
“Gayun birth certificate, copy of my id, and my id number, it’s everything you needed to prove that I am her Appa,” Jongsuk answered.
“But,” the women looked embarrassed.
“But what? You have no right to take Gayun away when I have the rights over her custody. If you need any information then feel free to call my lawyer. His number is in the envelope also,” Jongsuk was smirking now.
“I eh,” the woman fixed her skirt. “I’m going to check this out and if I come back and she’s gone then I will send the police after you.”
“Don’t worry darling the police hasn’t caught me yet,” he smirked. “Now be a doll and check my info so we can go home.”
The woman scoffed and she snapped her fingers as the two men let Gayun go. She swayed for a second but seemed to find her balance when the door slammed shut leaving us standing there in silence.
Jongsuk cleared his throat and this was the first time I saw this scary man look nervous.
“Gayun this is your dad,” I said unsure if I was making this even more awkward for them.
“Gayun,” Jongsuk took a step forward to look at his daughter. “You’ve grown so big. The last time I saw you were only this tall,” he raised a hand to show how short Gayun once was.
“Stop,” she said placing up a hand.
Jongsuk face dropped.
“You’re not my Appa,” she told him.
“But I am,” he told her as he reached in his pocket.
“Don’t lie,” she snapped at us and I could see that tears were already forming. “How can you do this to me Sunggyu?”
“I eh,” I didn’t know what to say to the young girl.
“We’re not lying,” Jongsuk told Gayun. “Here.”
He handed a piece of paper that he had pulled out of his pocket.
“This was taken right before you left,” he told her as she stared down at the picture.
There wasn’t anything special about the picture, just a man and a young girl sitting a on his lap. The girl had her hair in pigtails as she smiled brightly into the camera. She looked as happy as Jongsuk look busy trying to hold her in place.
Ah so that is how Gayun looked before the darkness took part of her heart.
“My appa died during a car accident while coming home,” she mumbled looking down at the picture.
“Who told you that?” I could feel his anger even from where I was stood.
“Umma,” she answered simply.
“Listen Gayun I’m going to tell you the truth and you can choice to believe me or not. But when you were young your Umma took you away. I didn’t want you to go but I couldn’t stop her. Even after you were gone I never stopped looking,” he told her.
She sighed. “But why wouldn’t Umma just tell me the truth?”
“Because your Umma is difficult and she knew that the longer she kept me away the more I would get hurt,” he admitted.
“You died,” I could tell Gayun was still trying to hold back her tears. “You died and I was left with a monster.”
“I know,” Jongsuk told her. “I know I’m not going to be the best of Appas and hell there will be times you won’t even like me but I promise I will never put you in a situation where you are unwanted. I will never let you feel pain again if I can help it. So what do you say kid? Are you going to come and join me so we can finally become a family?”
Gayun bit the corner of her lip and I could tell that she wasn’t sure.
“Gayun,” I called for her.
Her head shot up and she looked in my direction.
“He’s not lying to you. I traveled all the way to Busan so he could meet his daughter,” I told her truthfully.
I could tell that Gayun was slowly taking in the truth.
“S-so I’m not going to be a foster kid or joining an orphanage?” she sputtered out.
“Not if I have anything to say about it,” Jongsuk promised as he embraced her in a tight hug.
I heard Gayun let out a loud sob as she cried into her Appa’s shoulder.
“I’ll neve-“
Jongsuk words were cut off when Gayun’s door slammed open revealing a crazy woman. It was the same woman that had caused all this heartache.
“You,” she sputtered out looking at Jongsuk.
“Hello there darling,” he laughed as Gayun unraveled herself from her Appas arms.
“What are you doing here,” the women snapped making sure each word was dripping with venom.
“I’m here to fix the things you did wrong,” Jongsuk informed her. “I’m taking Gayun.”
The women’s eyes grew wide and her face was starting to turn a deep shade of red.
“No,” the women scoffed. “Like anyone would let you take our daughter. You are not even a fit to be an Appa! You can’t even take care of yourself how can I expect you to take care of her.”
“And you were a fit Umma?” Jongsuk raised an eyebrow.
“I did the best I could,” Gayun’s mom snapped running a hand through her greasy hair.
“Obviously that was barely enough,” he laughed showing off his white teeth.
“I won’t let-“
The door open revealing Mrs. Jung once again but this time her smug face was replace by a frown.
“Well I didn’t expect you to be here,” Mrs. Jung said looking at Gayun’s Umma.
“Why wouldn’t I be I’m her Umma?” she scoffed.
“Just because you gave birth to me doesn’t make you my Umma,” Gayun snapped.
Her Umma shot her a glare and mutter something under her breath.
“Actually Gayun is right,” Mrs. Jung told us. “You should know better Mrs. Lee. Didn’t the court warn you that if you went against the courts restraining order you would be faces charges,” Mrs. Jung told the woman
“But she’s my daughter,” the woman said if that mattered.
“You should have followed the court order,” Mrs. Jung said then she snapped her fingers and the two men behind her grabbed ahold of Gayun’s umma and started to drag her out.
“You can’t do to this to me. Gayun you can’t let them do this to Umma! I’m the one who took care of you all of these years,” the woman pled looking at Gayun.
Gayun was standing there watching in shock as her mother was forcibly being removed from the room.
“Gayun you can’t do this to me! I’m your Umma!” she shouted trying to crawl her way back in.
“No,” Gayun said getting out of her trance. “You are not my Umma. You are not my friend. You are nothing.”
The woman’s face turn from shock to blinding anger.
“How dare you li-“
The door slammed shut cutting of Gayun’s Umma’s words.
“I’m sorry about that,” Mrs. Jung scoffed as she patted down her grey pencil skirt. “Now your credentials checked out so now you will have to go to the child welfare office. They will sign over temporary guardianship. After that you will be able to live together but you must be present at her court dates and of course there will be home visits but if everything goes well you will be a family again,” the woman told us.
“So I can have a family again?” Gayun sputtered out.
The women nodded and Jongsuk grabbed ahold of Gayun and hugged her tightly.
It was the first time I saw a grown man cry so hard.
I nodded goodbye to the women who was trying hard to get their attention again. I slowly exited the room closing the door to their sweet reunion.
I knew that Gayun and Jongsuk had a long way to go but every family had their ups and down. If Jongsuk placed his loan shark and drug dealing away then I knew Gayun would have what she always wanted.
A family.
“Hey,” I could hear Sunhyun call after me.
“How did the reunion go?” she asked as we took a seat on a bench.
“I think Gayun and her Appa will be just fine,” I smiled.
“You did a good thing you know,” she told me. “I didn’t think you had it in you.”
“What do you mean?” I questioned her.
“I mean you are not really the adventuress type. Going to Busan, fighting mobsters, drug dealers, and out of everything you were able to reunite a family.”
“That’s because I’m amazing,” I laughed.
“I guess you are,” she muttered.
I looked at her with wide eyes. “Woah so you admit it.”
She laughed as she rises up her hands. “Wait do you see that.”
“What?” I said as I looked around the room for whatever had startled Sunhyun.
“Your ego is getting bigger,” she laughed. “Look it’s up to here!”
She raised her arm way above her head.
“Shut up,” I nudged her.
She laughed and placed down her arm and shoved me back.
“So,” her face was more serious now.
“So…” I looked at her.
“You’re leaving for good this time,” she told me.
“Come on I’ll be back for rehab,” I pointed out.
“But I won’t be there I’ll be on a different floor,” she told me.
“Why are you making this into such a big deal? It’s not like I’m never going to see you again,” I laughed.
Sunhyun bit the corner of her lip as if she was trying to hold in her thoughts.
It was the first time I noticed how her eyes contained a certain bright spark and there were dark bags under her eyes. Even her messy bun looked natural on her and dare I say pretty.
I grabbed her chin causing her to let out a small gasp then I leaned in before I could lose my courage and I placed my lips to hers.
They were soft and slightly wet and more importantly I felt as if I was kissing my sister.
Sunhyun shoved me away as quickly and rubbed the back of her hand against her lips.
“Eww!” she shouted as she threw a soft punch to my shoulder. “Gross why would you!?”
Now I was blushing and very embarrassed.
“I might have read the situation wrong,” I admitted.
“Wrong?” she glared at me. “That’s an understatement!”
“But I don’t’ understand why you were acting like you were going to miss me?!” I asked her still trying to calm my beating heart.
“Because I AM A IDIOT!” she shouted at me. “I don’t have many friends and I kind of view you as one but you obviously don’t feel the same wa-“
“Stop,” I told her. “Honestly it must have been the meds because honestly kissing you is like kissing my sister.”
“Thanks,” she scoffed crossing her arms.
“What do you want to test it again,” I laughed leaning in.
She pushed me away and stuck out her tongue in protest.
“Listen Sunhyun I would love if you stayed my friend,” I told her as I ruffled her hair.
“Eww stop,” she scoffed as she pushed my hand away. “You’re so gross! Do you even know how gross you are?!”
“Wh-“
“Oppa,” a voice called from the hallway and I turn to see Gayun and Jongsuk walking to us.
“Gayun,” I smiled when the reach us
“Thank you,” she bowed.
“You are welcome,” I told her with a smirk. “Listen before you go I wanted to give you this.”
I pulled out a piece of paper that contained my contact information I was going to give to her Sunhyun to hand over to her. “If you ever need a friend don’t be afraid to call me.”
“I won’t,” she said as she placed the paper in her coat pocket.
“So this is goodbye for now,” I told her. “You know you finally got what you wanted.”
“I only got it after you helped me. Even after everything I did you still found my Appa for me. I never had anyone do something like that for me. So thank you for everything you have done,” she told me as she bowed her head again.
“That’s what friends do,” I told as I patted her arm.
“Sunggyu,” Jongsuk looked at me and nodded.
“Thank,” he told me. “I promise that Matt will keep your friends secret.”
I nodded my head.
“Listen if you need something call me,” Jongsuk told me but I couldn’t think of any reason why I would need a mobster or a drug dealer.
“Come on Gayun we have to make it to the office before it closes,” Jongsuk told her.
She nodded than look back at me. “Well this is goodbye.”
“Okay goodbye and don’t forget to call me and if you don’t I’ll come and find you,” I told her.
“Don’t worry I will Oppa,” she laughed.
“Oh and don’t be so obsessive over Exo,” I ordered her.
“Like that would happen,” she laughed as she grabbed her Appa’s hand.
“Byee!” she smiled and started to pull her Appa down the hallway who was waving goodbye to us.
She only made it a couple of steps before she let go of her Appa’s hand and turn around and ran to us.
“Oppa I’m sorry for wreaking your things,” she told me then she turn around and took off running to her Appa.
I sat there thinking about what she meant than it drawn on me. My things, my pictures, my flowers, my gifts were all smashed because of her. A simple I’m sorry couldn’t fix all the damage you had caused to my room.
“THAT GIRL!” I shouted trying to stand up by Sunhyun held me down.
“Let me go I want to kill her,” I snapped at Sunhyun. “That kid needs to learn her lesson.”
“Stop it,” she laughed. “Come on you have better things to do.”
Just like that I lost all sense of anger and was brought back to reality.
Sungjong.
I could feel the unopen clue in my pocket weighing me down.
She was right I have better things to do then chase after a girl who I granted a wish to. No this time I needed to grant Sungjong’s last wish.
 ♦
It only took me a second to figure out my clue and maybe Sungjong had expected it because down below he wrote:
“Hyung at least give the other members time to figure out their clues.”
It was as if he knew that I could figure out the clue faster than the other members and maybe he was right.
I sighed as I looked down at the riddle that read:
“Everything I hear I say to other around. I’m not an animal, nor part of the human race. I will, immediately, repeat after you; But only if my tails in place.”

I smirked because only Sungjong would choice a place so close to my heart. The old building was now under another company but thankfully for me the front desk attendant was still the same from when we used to use the building.
He let me in and even told me where to go and informed me that the box was safe. I could tell that he wanted to ask about Sungjong but he knew better not to bring up the subject.
So here I stood in front of glass door that showed off my reflection like a mirror. My hair was messy as if I just woken up and underneath my eyes was dark bags but more importantly I looked different. Something had changed and I couldn’t yet place my finger yet.
Maybe I had somewhat grown in these past few months like the adventures and the sadness had somewhat changed me.
I laughed at the poetic statement and I shook my head in disagreement.
Come on Sunggyu lets just get this over with.
I open the glass door and slid my hand over the wall to the small light switch.
The light flickered on and I was met with a black mic that stood in front of my eyes reminding me of the old days.
We stood here for hours singing till our voices felt raw then going on again. This is where we sang our first song and this is where we sang the song that won us our first award. We owed this mic everything and it was only right for Sungjong to pick this place for his last goodbye.
I closed the door behind me and walked into the small room. There was nothing in this room so I walked past the mic into the small control panel that was in the connecting room. That room was crowded with boxes, spare parts, and even random clothes. It seemed like the company that own this building were using this room for some type of storage.
“Now where are you,” I said to the room but yet I didn’t really know what I was looking for.
I first went through the clothes only to find nothing that Sungjong would have gifted me. No none of this was his style and we all knew how much Sungjong loved fashion.
Next I moved on to the boxes each of them were full of useless junk and I was staring to lose my patience that was until I reached the last box.
Written on top with a black maker was my name in Sungjong’s hand writing. The box was small and nothing was abnormal about it but my heart was beating quickly and I took a deep breath as I tried to reason with myself.
Whatever was written on that note didn’t change anything.
Sungjong was going to die and there was nothing we or this note can do about it.
I took a deep breath then open the box. The first thing I saw was a small piece of paper that contained a website address.
Strange.
I was about to flip past it when I notice that Sungjong had written a small note.
“Hyung don’t go past this point. Watch the video.”
So it was a video and that alone made me even more nervous.
Did I really want to know Sungjong’s last words? Was this something I could do by myself?
Come on Sunggyu get a grip.
I took a deep breath and I dig my cellphone out of my pocket. The phone itself was only on 10% so I hope that whatever Sungjong wanted to say would end before my battery died. I took another deep breath and open the web browser app on the phone. I carefully typed the address into the white bar as I looked at the piece of paper carefully.
When I pressed enter it only took the site a couple of seconds for to load on my screen. There he was wearing the same clothes that he was in the last video.
“I can do this,” I told myself then I pressed the play button on the screen.  Instantly a dead boy was brought to life.
"Hyung!" He smiled on the video making my heart do cartwheels.
"Are you surprised? Are you excited to see what your gift is? I bet you can't guess
what is! You better like it by the way because I have been saving up my money
since last year! Also no peeking before this video ends," he told me.
Then he took a deep breath. "I guess this is where I talk to you."
I could tell that he was nervous and maybe a little excited to tell me off.
"Firstly," he cleared his throat. "I want to thank you for all the things you have
done for Infinite. I know that we can be difficult at times."
That was an understatement.
"But we wouldn't be able to be where we are without you. I know there are times
where we act like brats and we complain almost as much as you do but we
wouldn't trade you for the world hyung.  There was times when I thought
you push too hard that you only cared about your success. Then I realized you
were not only pushing us for your success but ours also. I just want to say
that I appreciated everything you did for us and everything you're going to do
for us."
I wiped away the tears that we're starting to form.
"Hyung you taught me so much these past few years. Not only did you teach us about
determination but you also taught us to have strength in dark times. You taught
me that if you have a dream you should fight for it no matter what. I know that
we pick on you a lot and sometimes I wonder if you think we are speaking the
truth. The truth is we care no I care more about you then you realize. I
know we pick on you a lot about your first album but the truth is we didn't
know how to express our feelings. Boys can be dumb that way. If you want to
know the truth I loved your album. I still listen to it to this day and I know
you will put that over my head for years to come. Before you open your gift I
want to give you some advice. Hyung you look better without eyeliner. You should
go for more fitted clothes because no one wants to see you dressed in a plastic
bag. Also stop nagging the members over silly things because one day we will
put poison in your morning vitamins. Now you can open your gift I'll wait for
you to open it."
Sungjong smiled at the screen as he taps his fingers against his leg.
I place my phone down on the table and turn my attention to the box. Underneath
Sungjong's note were too long pieces of paper that contained black ink. On the
right side contained the symbol for the Olympic Park Stadium in Seoul. Before I
could look further into it Sungjong began to talk again.
"It's Muse tickets!" He shouted almost making me drop the tickets.
I quickly looked down at the tickets once again and they were indeed for the muse
concert. My mouth open in shock because I couldn't believe that Sungjong had
gotten tickets to one of my favorite bands. I even tried to get them but due to
our busy schedules I didn't buy them in time and they sold out. How did he
ever manage to do this?
I picked up the phone to get a better look at Sungjong's smiling face.
"I stayed up all night to buy these for you because I knew that you would wait till the
last minute to buy them. I already checked the schedule and we have that day
off so you can you go. I think this saves me from dish duty for a couple of day’s right?  Well Hyung I will see you in a bit then you can tell me how much you love me,” he laughed. “Byee!”
I could Sungjong reach for the off button then suddenly the screen turn to black leaving me standing there shivering with tears.
“Why,” I croaked out. “Why would leave us like this.”
I knew that we had to do what was right for Sungjong but in the back of my head I wanted to shake the boy for not getting better.
I knew now that it wasn’t my fault that Sungjong was almost dead. As much as I wanted to blame myself I couldn’t anymore. Maybe because I was tired from all the guilt and pain that weighed on my shoulders or maybe it was this video message. Maybe somehow Sungjong did this for us so he could say goodbye even though it was a farfetched idea.
No matter what I had to say goodbye to the boy who taught me more things than he could ever imagine.
It was time to be the leader of Infinite for the last time.

Hey,
So sorry that it took me sooo sooo sooo long to post this chapter. I haven’t been feeling well lately and it has been affecting my writing. But I hope you guys enjoy these last few chapters! I hope the message to Sunggyu wasn’t too corny. Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lee Sungyeol. May you have an amazing day and an amazing year. You will always be a choding in my heart.
