Part Forty-Three: Myungsoo

The Words Unsaid
Part Forty-Three
Myungsoo
“Hey,” Dongwoo said emotionless as he sat next to me on the bed. “Sunggyu Hyung’s nurse just called me and told me that Sunggyu and Woohyun are going to be home in a couple of hours.”
“Woohyun?” I shot him a questionable look as I sat up. “I called his brother he said that Woohyun was visiting his cousins in Japan?”
Dongwoo shrugged. “Maybe he came back early.”
“That’s weird,” I said to myself because I just called him yesterday.
“Don’t think about it too much,” Dongwoo told me.
“Leave it to them to reunite Woogyu,” I laughed to myself.
“So...did Hoya pick up his phone?” Dongwoo asked for the tenth time today.
“Sorry Hyung,” I told him as I grabbed his sweaty hand.
“It’s okay,” Dongwoo said but he couldn’t hide his disappointment. “What about Sungyeol?”
I sighed. “He won’t pick up his phone.”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Dongwoo said with a disappointed smile.
“I know Hyung,” I said but I still couldn’t get rid of the pressure I felt to get everything right.
“Dr. Woohna and I are going out for lunch would you like join. It will be our last meal together before he heads back to the mountain tomorrow,” Dongwoo asked me.
“You know I would love to go but I’m trying to get Hoya’s friend's number so I can get in contact with him,” I told him.
Dongwoo nodded. “But make sure you eat something okay?”
“I will Hyung,” I flashed him a wide smile.
Dongwoo hugged me tightly then gave me a kiss on my cheek.
“Call if anything happens,” he told me.
I nodded and he stood up and left the tiny room that I was staying in.
I swallowed hard and turn my attention back to the computer that was laying next to me. I reopened the browser that I had just minimized moments ago.
There it was once again as if it was reminding me of a bad nightmare. The news report that had announced to the world of Sungjong’s death. It was official the Mankea was going to die tomorrow. After all it was in the news so it had to be real.
I took a deep breath and started to read the article.
Infinite Member Sungjong Finally Laid To Rest
It was just released in a press conference minutes ago that Infinite’s Maknae Lee Sungjong will be taken off life support tomorrow morning.
I took a deep breath and closed my laptop.
It was true we were all going to come together and say goodbye to him.
Even though I wanted to fight and scream I couldn’t.
I knew that this is what Sungjong wanted and I couldn’t deny it to him any longer.
But I also knew that he wanted us to be together and not separated like this. I slid out of the bed and placed on my worn out shoes.
Even though he wanted to run away I couldn’t let him. He needed to stay and only if it was for a day or two. He needed to say goodbye even if he was forced to do it.
I needed to get Sungyeol back home.
I should have told Dongwoo where I was going but I didn’t want to worry him. I knew that if the rapper saw Sungyeol it would make it more difficult to convince him to come along. Although Dongwoo had the best intentions he didn’t always go about them the right way.
I didn’t know what I should say or what I should do about Sungyeol.
The way he ran away from me in such a panic state was something I wasn’t used to. The old Sungyeol had to be there buried behind walls of cement. That Sungyeol would understand why we needed to be together.
Why we ne-
I felt something smack me roughly in my back causing me to be thrown harshly onto the dirty ground. I let out a groan as I rolled onto my stomach trying not to scream from the intense pain that was coming from my back. My injuries from the beating were still visible and although I could move without pain but being thrown on the ground was another story. I looked up to see five faces staring at me like I was some type of a small bug they were about to crush.
“Dream,” I spitted out as I pushed myself to stand up. “What are you doing here?”
Kill them.
I could hear L’s voice yelling inside my head. It was the first time I heard the voice since waking up at the hospital.
I thought I got rid of you.
You can try but I will always be here. I’m apart of you.
“No you are not,” I said between my teeth.
“Look he finally lost his mind,” Dohyun laughed.
“Shut up,” I snapped. “Are you stalking me now?”
“You wish!” Dohyun scoffed. “Our dance studio is down the street. We saw you in the window walking by.”
Of course I would have bad luck like this.
You are right only you Myungsoo.
L shut up!
“Boys don’t you think it’s time to teach him a lesson,” Shiwoo spoke up as he grabbed my arm roughly.
“Let me go,” I shouted in pure panic.
Dohyun grabbed my other arm then they dragged me into the dimly lit alleyway. I wanted to scream for help but I knew that most people who lived on Sungyeol's street were either elderly or working at this hour.
“You know we had to do volunteering work for weeks,” Yejun shouted then he kicked me right in the shin.
I let out a groan as I squeeze my eyes tightly shut trying to ignore the pain.
“I heard that is getting put down tomorrow,” Yejun laughed.
“Shut up,” I screamed at him while trying to push away from Shiwoo.
“You guys stop it,” Joowoo said as he tried to grab for my arm but Shiwoo shot him a deathly glare.
“Shut up Joowoo or do I have to remind you that my Umma can pull you out of your drama,” Yejun snapped at him.
“It’s not right though,” Joowoo said, as he looked me up and down. “This isn’t what I wanted. I’m sorry.”
“Are you going to be a chicken again?” Dohyun snapped at him.
“Yeah sure,” Joowoo said taking a step backwards. “I’m sorry.”
He gave me one more look before he turned around and ran into the streets.
“What a loser,” Shiwoo scoffed.
“Don’t worry he will be punished but first let’s deal with you,” Yejun said turning his attention back to me.
“You know I’m actually going to miss hitting you,” Dohyun laughed as he pulled off his jacket.
“We don’t have broom handles so my fists will have to do. Just don’t dirty them too much with your nasty blood.”
Shiwoo and Yejun laughed at the not so funny joke. Then Dohyun raised his fist up and I felt chills going down my spine.
I closed my eyes tightly waiting for the fist to slam into my face but nothing happen.
“What are you doing,” Shiwoo snapped.
I open my eyes to see someone standing in front of me blocking me from Dohyun.
“Leave him alone,” he said and it only took me a couple of seconds to realize that it was Jake. I had forgotten that he was standing in the background watching the whole scene.
“J-Jake you speak K-Korean?” Shiwoo sputtered out.
“ Obviously,” Jake snapped. “Do you really think spending six years in Korea I wouldn’t pick up some Korean.”
“B-But why didn’t you say something to us?” Dohyun questioned him.
“Because you guys are idiots and I had my reasons,” Jack told them.
“Well if you're not going to explain then can you just leave,” Yejun snapped.
“But I can’t do that you see,” Jake laughed.
“Why is that loser?” Dohyun asked as he crossed his arms.
“Aww she just arrived,” Jake said pointing to the entrance of the alleyway.
A black car parked in front of the alleyway blocking any chances of escaping.
“Who is that?” Shiwoo asked as he let go of my arm causing me to fall to my knees.
“You see I wanted to be a singer since I was very young but I also loved watching action movies especially spy movies. Did you really think you guys would get away with everything?” Jake laughed. “I was put in this group to watch over you Yejun and make sure you didn’t do anything stupid. Which you did over and over again but you crossed the line.”
“W-Why me?” Yejun sputtered out.
A man wearing a nice suit ran around the car and opens the passenger side door revealing a woman wearing a business suit. She was wearing a nice pair of sunglasses that covered her face.
For a second I thought she was lost until her gazed fell on us. She frowned and started to stomp her way to us.
“MOM!” Yejun yelled.
Wait what?
“You idiot!” the woman screamed as she swung her purse at Yejun's head. It smacked him right in the face sending him to the ground.
“You two go back to the dorms now!” she snapped at Shiwoo and Dohyun who didn’t need to be told twice. “And don’t you dare think of touching him again.”
They nodded as they ran out of the alleyway.
“Now you!” she looked at Yejun again. “I told you to play nice didn’t I?”
“Umma he started i-”
“I don’t care! You know better Yejun! Things would be different if Dream was actually making money,” she snapped. “Now get in the car!”
“But what about practice Umma? “Yejun asked her.
“Practice!? Honey you are not going to be needing practice anymore,” she snapped at him.
“But mom,” Yejun whined.
“GET IN THE CAR!” she yelled at him.
Yejun ran to the car so fast that I barely had time to blink.
The woman looked down at me then back to Jack, “Take care of him and we will talk about you starting your solo career.”
Jack bowed then the woman got into the car and just as quickly as she arrived she left.
“Sorry about that,” Jack said as he helped me up to my feet.
“What just happen?” I said because I was honestly confused.
“When Dream was forming Yejun’s mother didn’t think that the boys would follow the rules. After all Shiwoo and Dohyun are childhood friends.”
“Figures,” I scoffed to myself.
“I was going to be a solo artist but then Yejun’s mother approached me and asked if I wanted to be in a group to watch over her son and his friends,” Jack told me.
“Why would you do that?” I asked him.
“Because of groups like Infinite. You and your members seemed more like brothers than bandmates. There is this bond you don’t get when you are a solo artist and it was one that I always wanted. So I figured join a group make good friends and looking after Yejun wouldn’t be a horrible thing to do. But then I met them and they made my life hell. Even after they let me get lost in Hongdae or eat my meals. I still thought there was another side to them. I thought if I waited it out it would get better but it didn’t. Then they beat you up in the storage room at that fashion show and I knew I couldn’t let it go,” he told me then he bit his lip and looked down at the ground. “Listen about the fashion show I’m sorry I didn’t stand up and say something sooner.”
I looked at the young boy who was staring at the ground trying not to look me in the eyes.
“Jack you have a lot of courage,” I told him truthfully. I wouldn’t be able to go against my group even if they were total asses.”
“But I could have ended this sooner,” he told me.
“But you ended it now,” I told him as I patted him on the back. “Listen if I learned anything from the past few months is to not dread on the past. So with that being said I forgive you Jake and I wish you the best of luck in your solo career,” I told him truthfully. Then I started to walk to the opening of the alleyway but stopped when Jack asked me a question.
“Is that it? I don’t owe you anything in return? You’re not going to make me wash all your underwear by hand?” I turn around and smiled.
“Yes that’s it Jack,” I laughed. “Now if you excuse me I have to go meet my best friend.”
Jack bowed then gave me a wide smile and waved me goodbye.
I waved back then exited the alleyway and begin my way to Sungyeol house.
You should have killed them.
Hey L can I tell you something?
Is it about my plans to take over the earth?
No.
What about how to successfully torture someone?
No.
Oh what about how about my new plans about how to hurt drea-
NO!
Then what is it?
Can you please SHUT UP!
Well that wasn’t nice at all.
Getting to Sungyeol house only took me a couple of minutes but I had stood in front of his door for more than ten minutes. I had come up with this great speech that would convince Sungyeol to return but now I couldn’t remember any of it.
If I had only one wish it would be for Sungyeol to come back with me and not to overreact or over think like he usually did.
I just wanted my best friend back.
I took a deep breath and knock on the old apartment door. The door open within seconds and I was met with a boy that looked just like Sungyeol.
If I didn’t spend years living with Sungyeol I would have thought it was him but I knew with one glance that this was Daeyeol.
“Myungsoo,” he gasped.
“Daeyeol, “I replied back.
“What are you doing here,” he asked me not opening the door all the way.
“I’m here to see Sungyeol,” I replied as if this was a simple request.
His face dropped, “Oh Sungyeol?”
“Yeah is he-”
KAA-BOOM
“What was that?” I said trying to look around Daeyeol.
Daeyeol sighed. “It’s Sungyeol he...read the news.”
“Oh,” I said as I rubbed my temples.
“He hasn’t been in the best of moods today,” Daeyeol sighed once again.
“Why don’t I give you a break,” I told him. “You can go get lunch and have some time to `   yourself.”
“I don’t know,” Daeyeol mumbled to himself.
“Come on you need a break,” I added.
“It’s just that he’s in so much pain,” Daeyeol looked at me and I could already see tears forming in his eyes.
“He won’t talk to anyone still and he is always in a horrible mood,” Daeyeol confessed.
I studied his face “He still doesn’t talk?”
I couldn’t help but remember sitting at a cafe with Sungyeol. He had spoken then and although it felt like a dream I knew it was real.
“Yeah,” Daeyeol told me. “Umma took him to see a shrink but that didn’t really turn out too great.”
“Listen I know that I can’t really say anything to change your mind but I need to talk to your brother and I promise I would never hurt him,” I told him.
“I know,” Daeyeol admitted. “Just make sure he doesn’t destroy the house too much.”
I nodded and Daeyeol open the door further so I could slide in past him.
“HYUNG I’M GOING OUT,” Daeyeol screamed as he grabbed his shoes that was next to the door. “BYEE!”
“Bye Myungsoo and about tomorrow-”
I raised up my hand up stopping him, “I know.”
Daeyeol nodded then took off walking down the outside hallway.
I turn my attention back to the small entryway I was standing in. It was nice and well organized something that Sungyeol definitely was not. If we were back at the dorm his clothes would be everywhere!
I carefully took off my shoes and walked into the next room that happen to be the living room.
The room usually smelt like flowers but now it smelled of body odor. Where family photos once hanged was now just broken glasses. There was a drama playing loudly on the TV it had to be a new since I hadn’t seen it before. On the couch wrapped in heavy blankets was Sungyeol. Next to him were a couple boxes of ice cream that our fitness coach would kill him for.
“Sungyeol,” I called out for him.
He didn’t even look up his eyes were glued on the TV screen.
“Sungyeol!” I shouted this time but still no reaction.
I took a step forward so I was now covering the TV with my body.
“Sungyeol,” I said again and this time Sungyeol frowned and moved his head trying to see behind me.
“I’m not going to move till you speak to me,” I told him sternly.
Sungyeol rolled his eyes and swatted his hand at me.
“Sungyeol,” I said for fourth time.
Sungyeol sighed and took out his white board and started to write something down.
What do you want?
“Why aren’t you speaking? You spoke to me before,” I pointed out.
That was different and I don’t want to.
“Why are you so childish," I snapped out.
If you're just here to insult me then why don't you leave?
"No Sungyeol it's not like that," I said as I rubbed the nape of my neck. "I'm sure you heard the news."
I looked over at a pile of smash plates.
Are you here to tell me that I was right?
"No it's not that. If you got any of my messages you know that we are all getting together. That is infinite I mean. His parents want us to say goodbye before they you know..."
Pull the plug?
"I was going to say let him go," I told him. "Listen Sungyeol the reason why I’m here is to ask if you wanted to go say goodbye with us. I’m meeting everyone at the dance studio and we ca-”
Nope.
I bite the corner my lip trying to think of a way to change his mind. But we all knew that Sungyeol was stubborn and unlikely to change his mind but I had to try.
"Sungyeol he would want us to be togethe-"
He can't even speak! He could want ice cream right now but who knows!!
“Sungyeol,” I snapped. “What can I say to change your mind?!”
Sungyeol rolled his eyes.
Just leave me.
“No,” I told him sternly.
I’m not going. I don’t want to say goodbye to a dead body. I just want to watch my drama and eat some more ice cream.
“Then Infinite didn’t mean anything to you?” I asked him as I felt a lump growing in my throat. “Did our friendship mean anything?”
Sungyeol ignored me as he grabbed the remote control off of the couch.
“Sungyeol,” I called for him.
He started to turn the television up as if I wasn’t even standing there.
“This is how you are going to end it,” I snapped at him.
There was no movement from Sungyeol as his eyes stayed glued to the only visible spot on the television screen behind me.
“FINE!” I snapped finally losing my cool. “If you want me to leave you I will but you are going to regret this.”
I turn around slowly hoping that Sungyeol would change his mind but there was nothing but silence. I should have asked Sunggyu to talk to him instead of me. Sunggyu always had a way of talking sense into the young singer.
I was about to leave the apartment when I noticed a door. It was simple and nothing eye catching but what was behind it mattered.
I had an idea.
A crazy idea.
I walked confidently to the door and open it letting the cold breeze hit my face.
The balcony was like any other balcony in Korea. There were clothes hanging on a drying rack and two small cloth chairs. There were small plants that were all dead on wooden racks that were Sungyeol’s doing.
I walked towards the railing and glanced down to see cars moving busily below. I couldn’t help but wonder where they were all going. I wonder if they were on their way to work or even to a doctor's appointment or were they on their way to see their friends and family? I wonder if they knew how lucky they were? To be able to call your best friend and tell them about your day.
I grabbed the railing then I swung my leg to the other side. Once my foot was on the cement ledge I placed my other hand on the railing and moved my other leg over.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING!
You will see L.
You are going to get us killed.
No I’-
I heard the clashing of something falling and I looked over to see Sungyeol’s pale face staring at me with wide eyes. Next to him on the floor was his white board that he had dropped with a sentence already prewritten on it.
What are you doing?
“Sungyeol,” I said as I slowly let go of the railing swallowing down the fear that was coursing through my body.
It felt all too real up here with the whipping of the wind and the cars honking below.
It felt too real but there he was standing with a look of pure panic on his face.
He ran to me shaking his head no but I placed a hand up. “If you come any closer I will jump.”
He stopped in his tracks.
“Listen to me,” I told him trying to keep the panic out of my voice. “You need to come back to Infinite and this is the only way you will really listen to me. When you first joined Infinite everyone was against it remember it? Even the fans called you untalented an-”
Sungyeol glared at me.
“Not that you are! But you prove them wrong you see you’re the king of variety shows and you never let negative comments get to you. You always say the right things on air while I just make a fool. You see we all have downsides to ourselves but who doesn’t. The thing is you belong in Infinite and you didn’t let negative comments tear you away from us. The old Sungyeol I know wouldn’t hesitate in helping Infinite.”
I took a deep breath.
“Do you think you are the only one who is suffering? Do you think we want to say goodbye to him,” I swallowed back the tears. “Listen you were always a fighter so why aren’t you fighting now? Why won’t you speak, why won’t you tell me what is wrong. Why won’t you fight for your life? Have you given up...should I?” I took a small step backwards making Sungyeol jump and shake his head no.
“Good. I know this is hard but that is why you have us. You know you have Infinite to lean on? You know that we all really love you?”
Sungyeol nodded his head.
“So what do you say Sungyeol? Are you going to join me so we can go meet the members and go say goodbye to our best friend?”
Sungyeol looked at me as if he was trying to figure out my thoughts.
“Are you going to come or what?” I snapped. “Are you going to start fighting for your life?”
Sungyeol took a deep breath then picked up his fallen whiteboard and started to write something on it.
I swallowed hard trying not to look down below; I had forgotten how much I hated heights.
Sungyeol turned the whiteboard so I could now read what was written.
Buy me ice cream on the way.
“Deal! Just don’t tell Sunggyu Hyung what I just did he would kill me,” I smiled. “Now help me ove-
.
!
When I swung my leg over I must have lost my balance because all of a sudden I felt myself falling backwards.
As if time had slowed down my brain started to replay memories.
Moonsoo’s birthday in which I bought him a new computer with money I earned from the “Be Mine” era.
Hanging out at restaurants with Infinite.
My school friends smiling at me as we watched anime together.
My p-
Something roughly grabbed on to my arm and I felt myself flying forward to be hit with something hard. In seconds I was laying on top of something soft and warm.
I heard someone groan in pain and I open my eyes to slowly to see that I was still alive.
Thankfully.
I heard another groan causing me to look down to see Sungyeol’s arms wrapped around my smaller body.
Then without warning Sungyeol pushed me off of him and I fell to that cold ground. I sat up rubbing my elbow glaring at Sungyeol.
“You could have push me off gen-”
Suddenly I felt a sharp pain at my side as Sungyeol punch me roughly.
OUCH!” I shouted grabbing ahold of my side. “What was that for?”
Sungyeol raised his eyebrows at me.
“You are calling me a idiot right now?” I remarked.
Sungyeol nodded his head as he crossed his arms.
“I was being a idiot I supposed,” I shrugged.
I felt a sharp pain hit my other side and I shouted in pain.
“Stop it!” I snapped causing Sungyeol to laugh.
I knew that Sungyeol wasn’t the same as before the accident but who would be? That was all right by me as long as he still cracks silly jokes and cause mayhem with pranks.
Only Dongwoo would pick this place for our group meeting. The company no longer used the building itself but Jungyeop had yet to sell it to anyone. Maybe due to emotional attachment? I knew that one day he wanted to turn the dance studio into a cafe or maybe it was a gym? I couldn’t remember.
The old dance studio was under a bunch of businesses that were barely surviving.
“Come on,” I told Sungyeol as I grabbed his hand to lead him down the staircase. “Dongwoo said he was going to meet us here.”
I was full of emotions, I was happy because I was going to see my members.
Angry and sore for the fight I had this morning with Dream.
Nervous about seeing my members for the first time in months and lastly upset because of what was going to happen tomorrow.
“Ready?” I turn to Sungyeol when we reached the bottom of the staircase. The metal door was closed but you could clearly see a light shining inside.
I could feel Sungyeol sweaty palm in mine and I knew he was nervous too.
“It’ll be fine,” I smiled widely even though I couldn’t get rid of this feeling in my stomach.
I open the door letting the light shine brightly on my face. Standing there in the center of the dance studio was Dongwoo and a mystery guy. He was a little shorter than Dongwoo and looked young even younger than Sungjong. Next to him was…
“HOYA!” I screamed letting go of Sungyeol’s hand and running full force at the dancer.  I wrapped my arms around him not caring that Hoya wasn’t one for hugging.
“Myungsoo,” he laughed as he hugged me tightly. I tried to ignore the pain that was shooting up my spine.
He stopped hugging me and looked me up and down.
“You are doing good right?” he asked me.
“Yes but what happen to your face?” I asked staring at the nasty bruises that covered his face. It was as if he had become someone's punching bag. Beside that Hoya looked healthy almost normal.
“It’s a long story,” Hoya told me. “I’ll tell you later.”
“Okay but wait why are you here I mean I couldn’t get in touch with you…”
“It’s a funny story,” Dongwoo said gleefully. “You see he when I came here I mean...why don’t you tell the story Hoya!”
Hoya laughed. “I got here last night and we needed a place to stay for the night and I knew that this place was empty so we camped out here. We were about to leave when Dongwoo showed up. We are having a band meeting?” Hoya looked at Dongwoo then back to me.
“I’m guessing you didn’t read the news?” I told him cautiously.
“The news?” he looked at me confused.
“Well no we just got here last night and we just woke up about an hour ago...so no,” Hoya told us. “Why are you asking me that? Did something happen?”
Hoya looked nervous now as if he was putting together the pieces of the puzzle in his mind.
“Wait we?” I looked at the teenage boy that was standing next to Hoya.
“Ah Myungsoo this is Joonshu. I met him in Busan and he’s going to be staying with me for a while,” Hoya told me.
“Joonshu?” I looked him up and down.
His clothes were dirty and there were also smudges of dirt on his cheeks. Where did Hoya find him the trashcan?
“Hey,” Joonshu flashed me a cheeky smile.
“Hello,” I replied back not sure about him. “So what happen to your phone?”
“I lost it,” Hoya replied simply.
“Wait where is Sungyeol? You told me on the phone that he was coming with you. Did he change his mind?” Dongwoo inquired and I could tell that he was disappointed.
“Ah he’s here,” I turn around but he was no longer in sight. “Lee Sungyeol!”
I open the metal door to see him sitting on the steps.
“Come on,” I grabbed his arm and pulled him to his feet. “It will be okay.”
He let out a sigh as he nodded his head then we entered the dance studio.
“Oh Sungyeol,” Dongwoo ran to him and hugged him tightly. “I’ve missed you.”
I swear he was about to cry or crush Sungyeol I couldn’t figure out which one he would do first.
“Dongwoo give him some space,” Hoya laughed as he pulled him off of Sungyeol.
Sungyeol nodded towards Hoya and Hoya smiled.
“You are far too skinny,” Dongwoo said as he stared at him.
Sungyeol rolled his eyes.
“Are you even eating?” Dongwoo questioned him.
Sungyeol shook his head yes.
“Your hair is longer I thought you hated long hair. Have you taken a shower this week? Are you taking care of yourself?” Dongwoo sputtered out.  “Why aren’t you speaking? Why are you so quiet? I thought you were fixed I mean not fixed I mea-”
It happen so fast that I didn’t even have time to stop it from happening. Sungyeol had lost his cool and snapped. Dongwoo let out a gasp as he fell to the ground roughly.
“SUNGYEOL!” I snapped.
Sungyeol bowed apologetically and walked to a nearby couch where he sat down and placed his knees to his chest.
“Sorry Dongwoo,” I apologize for Sungyeol. “I should have told you he is a little sensitive.”
“It’s fine,” Dongwoo said but I could still see tears starting to well in his eyes.
“Dude what is your problem,” Hoya new friend Joonshu snapped walking towards Sungyeol.
Oh no.
“He is asking how you are and you rudely push him?” Joonshu yelled at him.
“Joonshu calm down!” Hoya gave him a warning.
“Don’t worry I could take losers like him any-”
Sungyeol slammed into Joonshu to the ground so roughly that I thought that one of them had broken something.
“JOOSHU!”
“SUNGYEOL!”
I dove at them trying to tear them apart but one simple kick sent me flying to the ground. Pain shoot up my spine as I rolled on my stomach and grabbed ahold of my back.
Just ignore it Myungsoo.
Ignore it!
“Stop it!” I heard Hoya screaming as Joonshu rolled around with Sungyeol in his hands.
“Sung-”
“What is happening?” I heard his voice in all the chaos and I knew that everything was going to be all right.
"Hyung’s," I smiled widely at them.
There they were standing in the doorway wearing their backpacks and dirty clothes. It was as if they had just gotten back from an adventure. Sunggyu leg was still wrapped in a cast but he was no longer in a wheelchair. Instead he was holding tightly to his crutches. His small eyes scanned the room with such anger that I almost thought I was in trouble.
“What the hell,” Woohyun sputtered out at the doorway. Woohyun looked thinner than before and the right side of his face was slightly bruised. I wonder if he too had become a punching bag with Hoya.
“STOP IT NOW!” Sunggyu screamed throwing down his bag. “I SAID NOW!”
Sungyeol and Joonshu pulled apart and Sungyeol shot him one last glare before he took his seat. The side of his face was bright red but I don’t think there was going to be any bruises. Joonshu looked like he just woke up with his hair going every which way and his shirt halfway off his body.
“Now what is going on??” Sunggyu snapped at us.
“I eh sorry sir,” Joonshu bowed.
“Who the hell are you?” Sunggyu asked staring Joonshu up and down.
“I um-”
“Sorry Hyung he is my friend and he is going to wait outside,” Hoya shot him a glare.
“Hoya?” Woohyun looked at him with wide eyes as if he just saw a ghost.
“Woohyun,” Hoya snapped back.
Why did he seem angry with him? What did Woohyun do?
“Sorry,” Joonshu said then he ran out of the room leaving us behind.
“Sorry it’s my fault,” Dongwoo told Sunggyu. “And welcome back home Sunggyu Hyung and Woohyun.”
He smiled widely as if he didn’t just get slapped minutes ago.
"Are you okay Myungsoo?" Hoya offered me a hand.
"Fine," I said as I was pulled to my feet.
"Where have you been Hoya?" Sunggyu said to him as if he had been searching for him. Hoya and him started to quietly speak as if they were sharing secrets.
"Hey Yeolie," Woohyun said as he made his way to Sungyeol who was staring at the ground.
"Ewe," Dongwoo point to me while holding his nose.
"What?" I said to myself as I looked down to see that my shirt was covered in some sort of type dark slime.
"Gross," I exclaimed pulling the shirt up to get a better look at the stain.
"What the hell," I looked up to see Hoya staring at me.
.
I shoved my shirt down quickly praying that Hoya didn't see the marks. Maybe he wasn't talking about me. It's wasn't that I wanted to hide the abuse from them I just didn't want them to worry about me. I didn't want to add another thing to their plate.
"Myungsoo what happen?" Hoya question and now everyone's attention was on me. Even Sungyeol had poked his head up from his emotionless state.
"Nothing," I squeak out crossing my arms.
"Don't lie to me," Hoya told me as got closer to me.
"It's nothing!" I shouted but the fear was growing in the pit of my stomach.
"What are you talking about?"  Sunggyu looked at me.
"Show me please," Hoya told me.
What's wrong?
Sungyeol wrote on his whiteboard.
"There was a accident at a runway and I fell and injured myself," I lied.
“You were hurt,” Dongwoo looked at me shock.
For a slight second I felt as if I was in Dongwoo shoes. He probably felt guilty for not noticing anything or he was thinking if there were any warning signs.
“Don’t worry I went to the doctors and everything is fine,” I lied to them. I honestly didn’t have time to think of myself when Sungjong's life hanged in the balance.
“Let me see,” Sunggyu told me taking a step forward.
“You guys-”
“Don’t test me,” Sunggyu snapped at him.
“Or me,” Woohyun added.
“It’s just an accident,” I said to myself as I pulled off the long sleeve tee shirt.
The cold air hit my back sending shivers down my body or maybe the breeze was from the gasps from my members.
“What happen?” Dongwoo shouted and I could see tears in his eyes.
I could feel hands grab my back turning it from right to left as if each member was taking turns to look at my scars.
“These are not from an accident,” Hoya snapped at me.
I hanged my head low too scared to tell them the truth and maybe just a tad bit embarrassed.
“What happen to you,” Sunggyu asked with wide eyes.
“Tell me Myungsoo...Tell us what happen to you,” Hoya told me as calmly as he could but I could tell that there was anger in his eyes.
I took a deep breath and looked at each one of my member’s eyes. “Don’t interrupt me I told them.”
They nodded.
I placed back the shirt back on covering the bruises and welts that covered my back.
“It all started when we were hosting a special music show in memory of Sungjong. I was just done performance when I noticed that an idol was using Sungjong’s death as way to pick up girls,” I could feel the anger in my veins already.
“Who would do that,” Hoya muttered to himself.
“It was Dohyun from Dream,” I told them.
“That !” Woohyun shouted. “He’s the one who picked on Sungjong with the rest of his loser group.”
“Woohyun,” Sunggyu gave him a warning looking.
“So I punched him in the face,” I smirked causing Hoya and Woohyun to laugh but Sunggyu shook his head with disappointment.
“Then?” Sunggyu asked.
“So then the next week they dragged me into a empty room and beat me with a broomstick,” I spitted out quickly.
“WHAT!” Hoya shouted and started to make his way to the door.
“Where are you going,” Dongwoo called after him.
“I’m going to kill them,” Hoya snapped with a scrunch up face.
“Stop Hyung,” I ran towards him and hugged him tightly stopping him in his tracks.
“Please don’t.”
“It’s not fair,” he voiced raw and full of emotions.
“But they already got dealt with,” I said as I let him go. “This morning they cornered me again and the English speaker spoke up for me his name is Jake. Their company is now aware of the dirty they have and they are no longer going to be performing again well that is until they stop acting like jerks. Hopefully they will learn from this,” I told them.
“But it’s still not fair,” Hoya said once again.
“Hoya is right,” Sunggyu said then he turned to me. “And you should have told us or the managers!”
“Jungyeop and the managers know and I didn’t want to bother you guys,” I admitted.
“Bother us!” Dongwoo laughed.
“We are family even your breathing bother us,” Woohyun told me. “But that doesn't mean we are going to let a wannabe beat up our dongsaeng.”
“We are going to have to deal with them in our own way,” Hoya pointed out.
“Oh yes we will,” Woohyun said with an evil glint in his eyes.
“Next time if something happens you need to tell us,” Sunggyu ordered me. “That goes for everyone! No more secrets.”
“I promise,” I told them.
“We can’t have someone mess up your pretty face,” Woohyun added.
I felt arm wrap themselves around my shoulders and I knew instantly it was Sungyeol.
“I’m okay,” I told him but I knew he didn’t believe me. I knew that he was worried but we were all worried.
“But we are here for another reason,” I told them trying to get the attention off of me.  “The reason why you all are here.”
“It’s about Sungjong,” Dongwoo told them.
I took a deep breath ready for the fall out.
