Chapter 32

When a Baby Found in Front of Your Door

They decided to leave the park because of the tension Eunhyuk couldn’t stand and of course because Donghae didn’t speak a word afterwards. He seemed keep everything inside and didn’t want to speak up to Eunhyuk though the latter had asked him more than twice. Eunhyuk thought it was better for them to be closer today but it went like this. It shouldn’t be like this, he didn’t want today went like this. Donghae deserved to be happy. Was that not with him?

He shook his head. No, Donghae could be happy with him. He just needed time, that’s all.

“Where are we going?” Donghae asked him casually, as if nothing had happened between them. It was pained Eunhyuk, but he hid it well.

“I want to eat ice cream. Strawberry ice cream. You want one?” he asked Donghae back, a small smile lingered on his face. “I’ll treat you because you’ve companied me earlier. Happy?” though he showed his annoyed face he was happy inside. He couldn’t tell, but he was happy.

“Your treat, really?” Donghae raised his eyebrows. It was rare for the blonde to buy others things, right? So he wouldn’t let it go just like that—he would take it gratefully. “Don’t regret it if I want three scoops, okay? You promise already!”

“T-three—yah, don’t make me broke, will you?” the blonde boy pouted. Geez, this boy is really something. He was trying to be a kind person but he used him like this. Couldn’t be believed yeah; that innocent fish face of his was only a mask, told you.

Meanwhile Donghae was chuckling beside him. He wasn’t thinking about the feeling anymore. He wasn’t thinking about Sungmin anymore. He wasn’t thinking about the relationship anymore. He should accept everything about his Eunhyukkie, all of him. He said he loved the boy, so he should accept the past and the future of the boy. He shouldn’t be selfish by judging the other by the ex or what—he should believe at him because he finally wanted to try out with him. It was miracle for him—it wasn’t bad at all moving to that school after all. He met new friends, new experiences, and look at him now. He could smile almost every day because of the person beside him right now. He should be thankful, not feeling down.

Slowly he smiled. His hand reached for Eunhyuk’s one, smiling oh so beautiful that Eunhyuk almost fainted by just one glance. “Sorry,” he could hear Donghae’s gentle voice through the air. “For be hesitant at what to believe.” Eunhyuk mesmerized by the act. Donghae had stopped walking, so did himself; hands intertwined sweetly like they were afraid to be separated by the strong wind out there. Donghae’s gaze was so gentle and loving yet he couldn’t find the usually playful glint anymore. He saw the seriousness; the mature Lee Donghae was before him right now. Donghae’s lips formed into a thin, beautiful curve he had ever seen (or it was him who never really sees Donghae that way? He wasn’t sure).

“Eunhyukkie,” he started; his voice was deep, unlike his usual playful tone, “please love me?”

It was the least Eunhyuk wanted to hear from Donghae. Donghae plead was the most scene he didn’t want to see. But it happened. And he couldn’t help but shook his head slowly, mind blank. Donghae’s smile was vanished. Was this the end of them? He afraid it comes but it finally came. He slowly released Eunhyuk’s hand, foot stepping backward to leave the blonde boy here. It was too sudden for him and his heart was pained too much to receive more. He should know it—he should’ve prepared before.

“Donghae,” he prevented him to step further. “Don’t say that.” He shook his head again. He didn’t want Donghae to leave him after all they had through—he wanted Donghae to be by his side. He wanted Donghae to be here with him, together. “It’s not your place to beg—it’s mine…” his limbs were numb that he couldn’t help but let his body down by his knees. “Don’t go… don’t leave me…” a lone tear flowed down across his cheek without him knowing it. “I have only you. If you go then… w-what for I’m living?” another tear ran down his cheek. “What for I’m l-living?” he bowed down his head.

Donghae was nailed on his place. He couldn’t believe it—did Eunhyuk confess to him? Did he hear it right? Because if it wasn’t like what he thought, it would be so much hurt. It wasn’t a dream, was it? Because it was too real that he could feel the pain when he pinched his arm. It wasn’t a dream. Then Eunhyuk… it was real? He his heels, meeting the now sobbing and kneeling Eunhyuk. It was hurt him more to see him in this state. His hands helped Eunhyuk to be in his feet again, wiping off his tears was something he did afterwards. What could he say after this? Knowing his Eunhyuk didn’t want to be left was really making him happy. Now how could he leave his blonde monkey anymore?

“Don’t cry,” he said softly, playfully pinching the now reddened nose to stop him from crying. “I’ll leave you here if you’re crying. So don’t cry anymore—I can’t stand it. I can’t see you hurt, Hyuk.”

Eunhyuk tried hard to stop his cry. Donghae was amazing. It was hard to stop Eunhyuk from crying yet he stopped by Donghae’s little threat. “Don’t leave me.” Eunhyuk whined at the now fanboying Donghae. How could he stop himself from fanboying if Eunhyuk was before him, face reddened because of crying, add the pouting and hands gripped tightly on his fore uniform. Making him thinking about kissing him senseless. Oh, why didn’t you try it, Lee Donghae? That wouldn’t hurt, right? Eunhyuk said don’t leave him—just think that it was the payback, hahahah.

Oh wow, Kyuhyun’s evil side was inside Donghae.

So without any thoughts Donghae leaned forward, lips ready to touch the plump one, but when his lips were going to taste those tempting lips, Eunhyuk pushed his chest lightly as if he told him to stop. He was disappointed again. Why it was always like this, Eunhyuk? Why did you reject him like this? Wasn’t that you who confessed first?

“Hae, isn’t that Taemin?” well, you were forgiven for now, Eunhyukkie, because it was Taemin who you were talking about. But hey—what did he say? Taemin was there? Donghae made sure his now boyfriend was really seeing Taemin. “But… who’s with him? Where’s Sungmin? Heechul hyung?” he quickly ran for Taemin, leaving the confused Donghae behind.

Not far from the new couple was Kyuhyun, running all his might like a hero though his run wasn’t that fast, panting after such… a long track. Yeah, long track. Eunhyuk ran over to him when he saw Kyuhyun stopped running. “What happened? Why is Taemin with that person? Who’s that?”

“I d-don’t k-know.” Kyuhyun shook his head, panting. “I left him for a while in the cart for taking the pepper Sungmin needed. But when I went back Taemin wasn’t there. I saw Taemin with him, so I left the cart to chase him.”

“He’s a kidnapper?! Kyuhyun-sshi, quickly run for him! I don’t want something bad happen to Taemin!” Eunhyuk went panic—what should he do? Taemin was he and Sungmin’s kid no matter what, and he was the father (since Taemin called Sungmin umma) and his son was in danger now with a certain kidnapper who now was taking his car and drove away from them. Now that he realized that they were late to save Taemin, they were thinking to save the baby. “What should we do? Sungmin will be panic and he can be fainted to hear this…” he mumbled.

“Oh no… it’s my fault…”

“You should just pick him up! Why didn’t you—no, why did you bring him, anyway?!” Eunhyuk yelled at him—he was thoughtless. He was panic too, moreover Taemin had no parents. What if the kidnapper sold him? The baby was poor even from they found him because his mother left him, now he was going to be sold? Life was harsh like this.

“Eunhyuk, stop it. Blame everything on Kyuhyun won’t give Taemin back,” Donghae Eunhyuk’s back. “We should call police.”

“No.” Eunhyuk said immediately. “The police shouldn’t know we have Taemin. You guys know it that Taemin is found on my door and we hide him from the landlord. If the police know then we’re over—Taemin will be in the orphanage! I don’t want it!”

“Okay, okay…”

“So what now? I don’t want Sungmin to know…” Kyuhyun put down his head. “He’ll faint for sure…”

^----^

The front door opened as Sungmin cut the kimchi and placed it on the small plate. Kyuhyun and Taemin were back? They had away for a long time, actually, because he needed the pepper now. He glanced at the front door and was surprise to see Eunhyuk and Donghae were there too. “Oh, you’re back already? Sorry, the dinner hasn’t ready, but can you wait? I’ll make it quick!” he smiled a bit, showing them everything was okay. But, wait. Something was wrong—

Where was Taemin?

“Sungmin-ah…” Kyuhyun made a way to him, earning a frown from the older.

“Where’s Taemin?” Everyone in the room was frozen. Sungmin frowned more. What was that they hid from him? Where was Taemin—why hadn’t anyone spoken up? He was getting impatient as nobody still replied. “I ask where is Taemin?”

“Sungmin-ah… I’m sorry…” Kyuhyun bowed down his head. He was really sorry for everything—he didn’t know that person would take Taemin away.

“Taemin… someone took him away…” Eunhyuk answered as he tightened his grip on Donghae’s hand. He knew his roommate loved Taemin so much that he never be seen without Taemin. They even shared a flushie.

“What?” he bit his lip. It couldn’t be right… his Taeminnie couldn’t be kidnapped. It couldn’t be right. “No! Tell me it’s a joke? Taemin is there with you, behind you, sleeping? Tell me…” he walked towards Kyuhyun, hands gripped the front shirt of Kyuhyun. His legs slowly gave up; leaving the owner down without released his grip. Kyuhyun quickly caught Sungmin’s body, helping him up but Sungmin refused. “Tell me Taemin is okay, Kyu… tell me…” he plead, eyes watered by the second Kyuhyun shook his head. In less than a minute Sungmin was a sobbing mess, body wrapped by Kyuhyun’s arms.

Who was that? Where was Taemin?

^----^

“He’s with me.” He smirked.

“Good. Make sure nobody after you because I want him with me now.”

“I can handle it, don’t worry.”

“Good job. Meet me in the usual place, an hour from now on.”

“Alright.”
