SinB walked towards the quidditch field like Yewon told her to after dinner and found her sitting in the grass, looking up at the night sky. Although she was mad about Yewon not checking up on her despite being her girlfriend, she couldn't help but smile and feel relief at seeing her in the quidditch field. Yewon truly was her safe space.

Yewon turned around and smiled as she stood up. They met halfway and Yewon's heart began to race. She took a deep breath and tried to isolate her mind, it's a technique she developed for herself during break after reading countless books and studying day after day on how to break the spell. So far she has only succeeded on clouding her own mind and thoughts from Hwang for short periods of time. Yet it takes a big strain on her and she has to rest afterwards.

" Yewon? What's wrong?"

Yewon finally succeeded and looked up at SinB. She only had a limited window of time and so she began to speak up in a panic.

"SinB...you're not gonna believe this but I'm under a spell."

"A spell? What do you-"

"Hwang! He casted a mind control spell on me and I only just managed to regain control of myself. That's why I was acting so weird last year-argh!"

Yewon's grip on herself was slipping and she saw SinB's confused face and tried to explain everything to the best of her ability.

"Last year, he kidnapped me and casted this spell and forced me to get info for him about you. He planned the tournament attacks!! Argh!"

Yewon's head was pounding and she fell to her knees while holding her head in both hands. SinB kneeled down and held her shoulders while trying to process all this information.

"Baby...have you not been yourself all this time? Is that why you didn't...speak to me? Or-"

"Why I was acting weird? Yeah! That's him! It's all him!! Baby, you gotta help me!"

This was the first time in over year that Yewon had called her a pet name. SinB now immediately knew that this was the Yewon she knew and fell in love with. SinB hugged her tightly and tears began to form. 

“It’s…it’s really you..?”

“I knew about these attacks and all his future plans but I was kept back so hard from telling them to anyone. He threatened to kill my family and stripped me of my own free will…I feel so guilty about what happened to you. I was there and wanted to tell everyone, to tell you, but I just couldn’t because of that stupid spell!!”

SinB finally nodded her head in understanding and looked at Yewon as she parted the hug. She held the side of her cheek and smiled sadly as she stared into her eyes, so full of anguish and pain, she was being sincere.

“I believe you. And I don’t blame you.”

Yewon burst into tears as she felt all the weight come off her shoulders. She felt that time was slipping away quicker and quicker so she hurriedly pulled SinB in and kissed her. For the first time in a long while, she was kissing her wholeheartedly. SinB closed her eyes and kissed her back just as lovingly, hugging her closer and using a hand to rest on the back of her head. They parted after a moment and Yewon’s voice was shaky as her mind was being back.

“I have…m-more to tell you…we’ll meet here again…t-tomorrow night…don’t let…Hwang know..”

SinB saw Yewon’s eyes return back to that eery clouded state and the glint of light was gone. Her face then suddenly went blank and SinB couldn’t help but cry again and hug her tightly.

“I’ll help you…I swear I will..”

Sojung was glad to see Yerin walk into her room after dinner. She hadn't spent a lot of time talking to her today as they'd both been pretty busy. She thought she could speak to her about break and everything that's happened since they last saw each other now.

Yerin sat down on the side of her bed as she untied her shoes and Sojung sat up as she began to speak. She was slightly worried since all day today Yerin wasn't very talkative like she remembered her to be.

"So uhh...how was break, Yerin?"

Yerin stopped her movements suddenly and looked up at Sojung. She couldn't help but feel a small pain go through her as she processed her question and remembered what happened.

"Are you alright?"

"Uh yeah...break was okay. Not much happened. But why didn't you write?"

"Oh! I was gonna say why. I finally managed to move out of my dad's house and with my grandparents instead! It was a really long adjusting process so I couldn't find it in myself to write to anyone honestly...I'm sorry I didn't catch up with you, I really wish I did.."

Yerin sighed deeply before standing up and sitting next to Sojung on her bed. She held the taller girl's hand and Sojung immediately knew something was wrong.

"Something bad happened during break.."

"Tae and I broke up.."

Sojung gasped and immediately brought Yerin in for a tight hug. Yerin sniffled as she wrapped her arms around Sojung's torso.

"I'm so sorry to hear that...was it on bad terms?"

"No...he just couldn't stand long distance...so we thought it was best to break up so we wouldn't strain ourselves...he was already so stressed out after to tournament.."

"I'm so sorry Yerin.."

"And...and my dad tried getting me to transfer to another school.."

"Wait...what?"

Yerin parted to hug and held Sojung's hands. She rubbed her thumb on the back of her hands to calm her down as she saw Sojung's eyes were full of uncertainty.

"He didn't succeed...at least completely. He wanted me to go to a medical school instead to keep practicing in that field but I, of course, said no. He's not backing down though.."

"Well...hopefully he doesn't force you...I would hate for my best friend to leave.."

Yerin smiled and kissed Sojung's forehead. The taller girl slightly blushed and looked down as she smiled brightly.

"I'm not gonna leave. Wait...what happened to you and Sooyoung?"

"Oh uh...we called it quits after a couple months in break. I was too focused on the custody battle and she wanted a more committed relationship.."

"I'm sorry, Sojung...I guess we're both single again?"

"Yeah...I knew it wouldn't last anyways...we both really weren't in it for the long run. It was just a fling.."

"Oh it definitely was. Don't try and hide the fact that I caught you two having in this very room last year."

"What?! You figured it out?! How?!"

"I didn't say anything because I honestly didn't care at the moment but then I looked back and I remembered how you two were all cuddled up with sheets all over the place!"

Yerin giggled as she looked at Sojung's red face. She stood up and wiped her hands on her pants as she glanced at Sojung's bed.

"Thank goodness they clean these sheets every year.."

"Jung Yerin!!"

"Ha!! er!"
