Chapter 38
Twice SupersThe General, along with Dahyun and Jieun fled from the Kingdom and was forced into hiding as they wait for Dahyun to wake up from her slumber.
General Jisoo, a full-pledged Knight who was granted a power of her own from the High Kins in the above has been Dahyun's Royal Adviser ever since they were children-- Dahyun was 7 and Jisoo was 11. Her skills and abilities allowed her to get the position in such a young age, she was more than fitting to be Dahyun's guardian.
Meanwhile, Lee Jieun, an ex-convict from overseas and managed to escape and was given a new life in Arvendon. She was a rare case just like GD, She's a caster and has a blood of a knight and up until then, no other clans claimed her but the Casters, much to her surprise.
3 days.
Dahyun was out cold for 3 days and the two begins to worry about her health which forced a certain Shaman to go out from hiding. Apparently, as the two exited the Kingdom, a young Shaman who took a liking on Dahyun from behind the curtains of the Palace's maid quarters, somehow survive the attack when her older sister placed her inside a cupboard and came out just in time to see Dahyun in action.
From that moment on, her eyes never left the young princess. She brilliantly hid her presence and vexus as she cautiously followed the two in their journey. She didn't know how to reveal herself until the very moment where she felt that her prowess might help the young princess' current state.
Mirae, she introduced herself. Of course the General and Jieun was shocked to see her but when Mirae said that she's from the Shaman Clan, Jieun and the General knew that they had to give any little things a try. And so they did, Mirae's vitalis was quite different from the rest of the Shaman Clan. Usually, the Clan's healing vexus closes any kind of open wound but it can't bring back energy nor heal possible illness however Mirae's was the opposite.
"Princess!"
Dahyun groaned in pain before slowly sitting up, "Where am I?"
Dahyun observed the place she's in, it looked like a cabin filled with basic necessities but what she did not expect is to see General Jisoo, Jieun and an unfamiliar face.
"We're taking refuge in a valley near Aelcliff's boundaries." General Jisoo replied as she helped Dahyun with her injuries.
"Oww, my head hurts a lot. Why do I have so many bruises?" Dahyun asked and that raised an imaginary question mark above their heads.
"Wait, Dahyun-ah, you don't remember anything?" Jieun questionnably asked, didn't even mind to address Dahyun formally.
Dahyun just stared at them and tilted her head. General Jisoo and Jieun looked at each other at this. The general did the honor in explaining things carefully towards Dahyun since she is the oldest among them.
First she told her how the Hunter Clan decided to revolt against them and took the lives of many including the Queen, King and her brother, Seokjin's. Next she told her about Seokjin's final spell which involved the use of his spear. Apparently during his final moments he casted the spell that could enchant his consciousness and energy towards the thing he treasured most which is his spear, Exodus Leviathan, the gift Dahyun gave to him.
As for Dahyun's vexus, it was indeed a very dangerous one for it can divide the seas with just Dahyun's words, it can shut out any spell and bring the enemies down on their knees just like exactly what happened back then. It turns out, Dahyun's vexus is the very same vexus that was used to lead the first generation of Vexirs, which was called, Authority.
It was hidden from her when her parents knew about it during an incident when she was still a toddler, The elder council didn't knew about this, only the elders in the Shaman Clan, General Oh and General Jisoo, even Dahyun's brother, Seokjin didn't knew about it. She was about to have a proper training for it the moment she turns 18 but it looks like fate is not gonna give her that chance.
General Jisoo looked at Dahyun worriedly as she finished explaining how her vexus works and how dangerous it is to use. The young princess was just listening intently with such unreadable expression. Jieun, on the other hand, was surprised to know about Dahyun's powers and about what happened to the Royal Family, she was saddened but it made her want to protect the last royal blood in this kingdom even more.
"My family died, we left the Kingdom, I have power in my words, my brother turned into a spear and you held me up captive here in the middle of nowhere?" Dahyun summed up, tone still unidentifiable.
Both Jieun and the General was alarmed at this and immediately bowed down, showing respect, "We meant no harm, sire. We're just merely looking out for your safety. The Kingdom hasn't yet known about your existence. They might question you and all the clans might start a new coup which would result into chaos."
The two were shocked to hear Dahyun laughed dryly and waved them off, "Don't worry. I was just kidding."
Again, the two looked at each other at Dahyun's tone...it changed, it somehow became..matured?
Dahyun heaved a deep sigh, "I wanted to cry but I feel like I've already used up all the water in my system."
"Please rest for now your highness, the activation of your SS really took up a toll on you." Another voice said.
"Yeah you're ri—wait who are you?"
Mirae moved closer to the bed and bowed down to her before speaking, "I-I'm Mirae, daughter of an Elder Shaman and a Royal maid."
"Wait, what do you mean activation of SS?" General Jisoo asked the young girl.
"I merely heard this from the last Elder's Meeting before the Hunters destroyed the place and k-killed the members." Mirae paused and looked at Dahyun before turning to the seniors.
"The princess' SS...it's quite terrifying. As you know about Vexir anatomy, we all have vessels which instantly fills up the moment we show signs of vexus and it's completely normal but your highness's SS cancels out her vessel cup even when she used it the very first time." Mirae explained.
"Wait, I'm confused." Dahyun asked, not getting it.
"Sire it simply means your power core does not limit the things you can do." General Jisoo answered.
"Exactly, as of now there are two kinds of forces clashing within your body. It seems that you have adapted your father and mother's quirk basing from the magic circles on your back." Mirae pointed out.
Jieun helped Dahyun remove her upper clothing and saw that Mirae was indeed right when the Mages' and Royals' crest overlapped each other.
"Isn't this dangerous? What if the Princess' physique can't handle it?" Jieun asked, caressing the mark on young Dahyun's back.
Mirae looked away, "I-I'm sorry, I don't know if there's a way to take down an SS."
"Take down? Wait, NO." Dahyun stood up and hastily covered her upper body.
"Sire.."
"I need to be trained just like how my brother was trained, it's one thing I was deprived of and now that I'm capable I don't want to waste this. Do you know how much of an opportunity it is to have my father and mother's crest on me? It's like I'm bringing them with me wherever I go." Dahyun explained with such intensity.
And that's when the General knew this isn't the same Dahyun as before, she didn't know what happened to her inner self that made her change into a more mature-minded young girl but Jisoo hoped that Dahyun won't succumb into the dark part of her self through her emotions and Jisoo guessed she was worried for nothing when Dahyun's cheeky demeanor slowly came back as they embark unto another journey once again.
Jisoo planned to cross Dahyun to the Celestial Realm where she will be safe but she knows that the Montgomery Siblings will be after them--will be after Dahyun for killing the head in their family and so Jisoo gathered the first lineup for the 7 Swords intended for Dahyun's protection.
Ahyeon, the caster who Dahyun met in an orphanage once.
Jaeil, the sorcerer who was once a prisoner of Cordova but Dahyun saved him and he became a loyal follower.
Raihen, a ninja who always steal food from neighboring countries had a fateful encounter with Dahyun and agreed to work with her.
Mirae, a prodigy vitalis who had her eyes on Dahyun the whole time, been following them after they flee from the castle.
So-hee, Dahyun's bestfriend oris who came into her aid when she found out she was still alive from the coup de etat.
Then Yu, Montgomery's youngest sister who saw the good in everything, she knew what they were doing was wrong and that's the reason why she approached Dahyun and chose to fight alongside her, completely turning her back against her siblings.
Together the group fought off every hunters that came into their
