Chapter 6 

A call from Jung International

 

 

Previously:

 

 

Melody squealed dancing around the kitchen happily making the other chuckle at her cuteness. 

 

“Go play until I finish... Ok?” 

 

“deh Umma!” 

 

Melody dashed out of the kitchen leaving the other to cook peacefully.

Ten minutes later,  

The rice cooker beeped indicating that it was ready, getting the pale man out of his thoughts. 

 

“Oh I forgot the onions!” 

 

Jaejoong cursed a little since his mind somewhere else. 

 

“Okey... I just need to let go of what happened today and focus...” 

 

He said to himself and poured the cooked rice into the pan. 

 

“ugh... I can’t help but think about it...” 

 

Jaejoong sighed as her finished his dish. 

 

“Baby-ah.... it’s ready!” 

 

Jaejoong called setting the plates on the table, then walking to the fridge to get some juice for him and Melody. 

 

‘Well, getting this job is going to give melody and me the chance to break through all of this and start anew... I really hope I can do that even if I have to see him every day... but after how stupid I acted there today... it would be a miracle if they ever call’ 

 

“Umma!” 

 

Melody startled him feeling her hand holding his pants. 

 

“Yes baby”  

 

“You’ve been standing there for a while holding the juice... are you ok?” 

 

Jaejoong smiled at his daughter before chuckling cutely. 

 

“Umma was thinking... Sorry I forgot about the food  for a moment” 

 

Melody laughed at the other’s silliness before holding her mother’s hand pulling him towards the table. 

 

“Let’s eat!!” 

 

She chanted happily watching her mother pour some pear juice for her. 

 

“Thank you Umma!” 

 

“Anytime Baby-ah... let’s eat!” 

 

Jaejoong smiled putting a napkin on his daughter’s neck so she won’t stain her clothes Before they ate.

“Waaah...” 

 

Melody awed at the taste of the chocolate pie that her umma made for her. 

 

“I love it! Thank you Umma!!” 

 

“You are welcome dear... I’ll pack some for you and minho Tomorrow... What do you think? Hm?” 

 

“Yes!!! Minho will be happy!” 

 

Jaejoong smiled watching his happy daughter eat her dessert dancing cutely while eating. 

 

“Who is it?” 

 

Jaejoong walked to the door hearing the doorbell. 

 

“Good evening Jaejoong-ssi...” 

 

“Oh Mrs. Moon... How can I help you?” 

 

An old lady in her 60s stood on his door tiredly. 

 

“You have a phone call... It’s from the Jung International” 

 

“Really?!!” 

 

Jaejoong looked at her surprised. 

 

“It sounds important... I’ll watch over little Melody until you’re done...” 

 

“Oh Thank you Mrs. Moon... She is in the kitchen eating... I baked a pie, please help yourself...” 

 

Jaejoong said dashing into the entrance of the condo where a phone is present. 

 

“Yoboseyo” 

 

“Yoboseyo... Kim Jaejoong-ssi?” 

 

Jaejoong’s Heart skipped a beat hearing the deep rich voice. 

 

“Oh y-yes, Yunho-ssi” 

 

“I hope I didn’t call in a bad time... you sound like you have guests...” 

 

‘Guests? As if their condo would fit a few more people...’ 

 

Jaejoong swallowed hard, he wasn’t expecting The Jung Yunho to call him personally. 

 

“Oh, no... I don’t have any guests... that was the owner of the condo I live in..." 

 

“Oh, I see... you only left this land line number to contact you..." 

 

“Yes... It’s the only number available now” 

 

“you don’t have a cellphone?” 

 

Jaejoong looked at phone handle confused. 

 

“Well, no I don’t have one...” 

 

“Well, that would have to change...” 

 

“Excuse me?” 

 

He asked not getting what is Yunho blabbering about. 

 

“Well Jaejoong-ssi... I called to tell you that the job is yours if you are still interested....” 

 

“....” 

 

“Jaejoong-ssi?” 

 

“I... Um... ah... That’s wonderful Yunho-ssi!” 

 

Jaejoong said trying to hide his excitement. 

 

“So you’ll accept?” 

 

“Yes Yunho-ssi! I’ll accept the job! Thank you so much!” 

 

Jaejoong was smiling wide holding the phone handle tightly. 

 

“When would you like me to start, Yunho-ssi?” 

 

“Well, as soon as possible, you know, Junsu can’t wait to go to his fiancé and start the wedding arrangements... and even if you’re a smart man and a quick learner, it would take a few weeks for you to get know and used to the work here...” 

 

“So? You want me to start tomorrow?” 

 

Jaejoong asked thinking of the happy bubbly Junsu. 

 

“Well, I was going to tell you to start on monday so that you can get everything arranged for you and your daughter, but if you can start tomorrow that will be excellent! Junsu arrives around 9 so you can come any time after that.” 

 

“I’ll be there” 

 

“I’ll have a contract ready for you to sign, and you’ll be receiving a car... would you prefer a specific color?” 

 

“Huh? I don’t know... I wasn’t expecting your question to be honest” 

 

Jaejoong heard him chuckle as his voice deepened: 

 

“What’s your daughter’s favorite color?” 

 

“She loves blue...” 

 

Jaejoong answered not sure why he is asked to pick a car color, it’s not like he’ll object. 

 

“Thank God... I was afraid you would say she likes Pink...” 

 

His words made him chuckle imagining how Jung Yunho would find a pink car. 

 

“Yeah... well, It will be ready tomorrow and I’ll ask them to have a baby seat ready too...” 

 

Yunho said smiling, hearing the other’s faint chuckle. 

  

“Thank you Yunho-ssi... that’s so kind of you...” 

 

“No problem, see you tomorrow Jaejoong-ssi, good night.” 

 

“Good night” 

 

Yunho looked at his phone still feeling his heart beating fast. 

 

‘Is it a good decision?’ 

 

He thought trying hard not to think of that kim Jaejoong much, but yet a smile appeared on his lips knowing that he will see him tomorrow.

“Congratulation Hyung!!” 

 

Jaejoong turned to see Changmin standing at the entrance! 

 

“Changmin-ah!!” 

 

“I came to check on you since you were a little upset about the interview today but I guess it turned out well!” 

 

Jaejoong smiled happily jumping like a kid before hugging Changmin. 

 

“I’m so happy I got the Job! I’ll do my best and everything will be alright then!” 

 

“Yes! That’s the spirit Hyung! I’m happy for you! Now let’s go... I miss my Melody!”

 “Melody!! Come here!” 

 

Jaejoong called happily as they entered the condo. 

 

“Deh Umma...” 

 

His little girl appeared at the door of the kitchen with her face smeared with chocolate... She dashed into her mother’s arms as soon as she saw him squatting down with his arms open. 

 

“I got it baby! I got the job!!!” 

 

Jaejoong hugged his daughter happily swinging her around and dancing with her happily. 

 

“Yaaay!!! Umma got the job!!” 

 

“Yes baby... this job will be very good for me and you!” 

 

“Umma!” 

 

Melody hugged him tight happy to see her mother happy. 

  

“Hello Melody-ya!” 

 

“Uncle Minmin!!! I missed you so much!!” 

 

Melody squealed as soon as she saw Changmin, jumping from her mother’s arms towards him. 

 

“Be careful baby-ah!”

 

"Hmmm, that's delicious! my melody is delicious! I want to eat her!"
 

.Changmin said some chocolate on Melody's cheek

 

" Nooooo! Silly Uncle Minmin! That's chocolate! "


Melody squealed laughing hard as Changmin attacked his with kisses and tickles.

Jaejoong stood smiling seeing these two acting silly.  

 

“Thank you Mrs Moon for looking after Melody...” 

 

Jaejoong said as Mrs. Moon stood at the kitchen door watching them. 

 

“Oh, not at all Jaejoong-ssi.. Your girl is such an active kid... she reminds me of my granddaughter... and thank you for the pie, It’s delicious!” 

 

Mrs. Moon said Jaejoong walked her to the door. 

 

“Now let’s celebrate this... Who wants pie?!” 

  

“PIE?! Did your Umma say pie?!” 

 

Changmin said in a dramatic way making his daughter laugh. 

 

“Yes pie! Chocolate pie Samchon!... Umma Made it because I am a good girl!” 

 

“OooH of course you are... you are the best girl in the world!” 

Changmin said ruffling the girls messy hair. 

 

“Did the best girl in the world leave some pie for us while I was gone or did you eat all of it?”  

 

Jaejoong said as they entered the kitchen. 

 

“Hehehehe, Silly Ummaa! I love your pie but I can’t eat all of it!” 

 

“Oh yeah... Silly me...” 

 

Jaejoong chuckled hearing his daughter’s answer. 

 

Melody giggled happily watching her Umma slice another piece for her and her uncle Minmin.
