5 Pieces’ house is lively this evening. Dinner is finished, most of them stay by the table to chat and small-eat during the talking. They talk about tattoos a lot, about wanting tattoos, about tattoos they have, people with tattoos they admire, then moving on to talk about hairstyles they want to have. It’s a lot of fun, a lot of jokes and light tones. Hannah finds herself taking glances at her side during dinner. Jonghyun fits right in. He is comfortable in this company, not holding back and at one point she has to remind herself of the cameras because she finds herself smiling for no other reason than seeing Jonghyun give an honest laugh. Maria leaves the table first, then sits back down shortly after. The moment Emelia has sat down on the floor to play with Milo, Jonghyun finds his cue that he can sit down there too. Milo doesn’t usually like it when there is a lot of people, he has this evening too been a scared little dog with the camera crew, but with Emelia petting him, he doesn’t mind Jonghyun paying attention to him too. “Dogs likes me,” Jonghyun happily says when Manager Kim points out what a scaredy-cat the dog usually is. “Heh, everybody likes you,” Yong Hyun teases. “Milo kept hiding under the table when I first came here.” “It’s his safe place,” Emelia adds, smiling at Jonghyun rubbing Milo’s face with the dog liking it. “Milo kept hiding there when he first came here,” Julia remembers, “He was always under there.” “It was Hannah who got him out the first time,” Emelia remembers it too, smiling over the table at Hannah. “You remember that? I had no idea what to do and he was terrified. I talked to specialists and read a lot online those first weeks.” Getting a dog that has been treated who-knows-how is a challenge, they all agree on that. But he is a lovely dog and Jonghyun mentions that Emelia has trained him well. A little later, it is time to move to the sofa. The table is cleared, they all help out, and while Maria and Hannah take care of the dishes, the others go to the living-room to keep watching the movie and to keep chatting. Jonghyun won’t leave the floor for some time, cuddling with the dogs and lying down to get attacked by Michin. Before going back to the sofa, Jonghyun goes to wash his hands. To the bathroom and on his way through the kitchen to the living-room, he stops by the ladies doing the dishes. Not for a specific reason, just resting his chin on Hannah’s shoulder for a few seconds. “What?” she wonders. “Recharging,” Jonghyun mumbles, pecking her shoulder before heading back to the others. It doesn’t take long before Hannah and Maria joins the others in the living-room. Jonghyun sits up by the corner seat for Hannah to sit behind him, to lean against her. He talks more than her, laughing at Emelia’s joke about the trick she shows with Milo on the floor and talking about SHINee’s concert in Japan taking place in about two weeks.   Time pass quickly when you’re having fun. Jonghyun hadn’t even wanted to go, and he had thought they could leave early, yet after chatting in the living-room for some time, he follows Carolina to the other house as they had started to talk music. They both turn off their microphones as there are no cameras in the other house. In Carolina’s room, she is showing off some demos she has been working on. They are in there for a long time, talking music, sounds, giving each other tips and ideas. Just as Carolina gets lost in creating music, Jonghyun is exactly the same. She shows off a demo that has been worked on, explaining the concept and her ideas of it. “It’s basically an intro for our concert,” Carolina explains while they listen to it, pressing keys on her computer to show she has tested different lyrics and such. “Imagine our concept for [Girls Power] and [POWER UP], our 4th album concept, and taking it to the next level. It will be vocals, it will be … burlesque versus circus.” Jonghyun nods, being in producing mood. He is even looking at the notebook where Carolina has written down examples of lyrics, notes of how they want it to be like. From showing off, they start brainstorming. Working on the lyrics she already has, filling the lines, discussing and brainstorming together. Forgetting all about Life of Pieces and the others in the next house all until Emelia peeks inside. “You’re sick,” she grunts at the two obsessed musicians. Jonghyun smiles at it. “We’re playing around,” Jonghyun explains. Carolina frowns slightly, very briefly at him. “In a serious manner,” she adds, as music is not to take lightly. Emelia sneaks in, turning her microphone off and sits down on the bed to ask what they are working on. She too has received the demo, currently in a battle against Carolina to make better lyrics for it. She smirks when Carolina takes the notebook from Jonghyun and covers her screen to not show Emelia what they have come up with. “You don’t work together on these things?” Jonghyun wonders at their hostility towards each other. Emelia leans back on her hands in the bed, shaking her head a bit. “Not always. During the meeting, we were given the demo and were told the best version will be picked. It’s a good challenge to take on.” “Hah… I thought you always work together. Like on [Pillow Fight],” he mentions. “That was fun,” Carolina admits, spinning around on her chair now when she has put away everything on the table. Jonghyun is sitting on a comfortable stool between the two ladies. “But… yeah, we mix it up. At times we write songs together, at other times we compete.” “It’s good with competition,” Emelia agrees, “It makes us challenge ourselves.” Jonghyun gets it, he knows about it all too well. he says that, and that the other members of SHINee compete the same – they all want to be involved in making their music so if not working on lyrics together, they will compete against each other. Most groups do it like that, they think. “Not everyone,” Emelia mentions with a smirk at Jonghyun. “Your wife isn’t a competitive person.” “That depends,” Jonghyun chuckles. His smile fades though, getting into other thoughts as he glances from one lady to another. “Can I ask a personal question?” he starts off. “About Hannah?” “Shoot,” Emelia answers without hesitation. Jonghyun is suddenly nervous though, glancing at Carolina to see her nodding too. he takes a deep breath, moving his stool back a bit to get some space. “Uh… Has… Well, has Hannah talked about us a lot?” he wonders, glancing back and forth. “Has she said anything about our relationship?” Carolina has a clueless expression. Emelia raises an eyebrow, looking cool. “You mean about struggles?” Emelia asks. He moves his head a bit. “Uh… yeah?” “She hasn’t said much. I mean, she is anxious,” Emelia shrugs her shoulder, “She’s worried and checks her phone all the time, if that’s what you mean?” “Uh, no, not that… It’s…” Jonghyun gives out a groan and ruffles his hair as he isn’t sure how to bring this up with them. “I know she talks to you ladies about everything. We haven’t… uh, been intimate, in some time…” “Intimate?” Carolina blinks, still looking clueless. “You look as loving as always. I always miss my boyfriend when I see the two of you hugging and all that. You’re cute together.” “You mean ?” Emelia gets it, putting it bluntly out there. The glance Jonghyun gives Emelia is the answer to her question. She grimaces a bit before shaking her head. “Hannah hasn’t said anything,” Emelia reveals. “Not to me at least.” Carolina shakes her head too, saying she hasn’t heard anything. “You haven’t had since last year?” Emelia guesses based on what they have gone through. Though she talks about it lightly and simple, Jonghyun is sinking down. “She tried once, but I turned her down… that day she got wasted at the hotel…” Jonghyun murmurs, fiddling with his fingers. He is too embarrassed to raise his head. “I… I was wondering if she had talked to you about it. About… being disappointed in me…” The silence grows after those words. At first, Jonghyun sinks down even more, wanting to disappear completely for bringing his insecurity up with the two ladies, and with this silence he is certain they will tell him to man up. Get over it. Be a man. “Idiot,” Emelia scoffs. “Ya,” Carolina gasps at Emelia’s rudeness. Jonghyun stares up though, just to see Emelia mouth what to Carolina. “I mean,” Emelia starts to say, pausing to roll her eyes at Carolina before blinking at Jonghyun. “You’re worried Hannah is disappointed in you because you don’t want to have . Correct?” He nods. Though he is two years older, Emelia has this intimidating presence at times. And especially now, when Jonghyun shows his insecure and vulnerable side to her. “Idiot,” Emelia tells him again. She leans forward with eyes stuck on Jonghyun. “When it comes to your relationship, you probably know better than us about it. If you decide you don’t want to have with her, she respects that. And especially now, I think she understands it too. You’re going through a tough time with yourself and all I know is that she is trying her best to support you. I don’t think is a priority. Not for her, at least. Besides, I doubt Hannah would marry someone because she wants – she loves you, idiot, she even went against her own belief by marrying you. That’s big. Not having wouldn’t break that. It’s what I think, at least.” “So… you don’t think I’m a disappointment to her?” Jonghyun wonders in a low voice. She shakes her head, taking this lightly. “Have you talked to her about it?” Carolina asks. Jonghyun
