Staff is running around to prepare for the show and Hannah is holding on to Manager Lee’s arm when being guided backstage to the seats on stage for Mnet Asian Music Awards. Julia is walking in front of them with Manager Kim and her stylist. They are moving slowly, it’s crowded, the place is loud and Julia keeps turning her head to talk to Hannah, but Hannah can’t hear a thing. Walking the red carpet was fun. They had a bunch of fans screaming for them, the two ladies posed next to each other and they got to answer a few questions about tonight, 5 Pieces and the fact that they look like a couple coming here with one dressed in pants and the other in a dress. They make a stop right by the entrance up to the stage where the artists will be sitting tonight. Many are already up there, and the ladies are told to wait before they can go up as well. Hannah turns her head when Chae Hwan tells her to, to check on her makeup. She puckers her lips to her stylist and tilts her head to the side to get the powder on, being patient and calm with her stylist while still nervously holding on to her manager’s arm. They are talking too, being told by a staff member to wait and just like the ladies, the staff-member leaves the group there to go check why they can’t go up yet. Hannah doesn’t even glance at them at first, but it is easy to recognize their voices. She smiles when giving a glance and accidentally getting an eye-contact with GOT7 Jaebum. He gives her a weird smile and they both look away, awkwardly. “Hannah!” Jackson roars at the back of his group, raising his hand in the air when Hannah turns around with big eyes. “He has a question!” He points down at Jinyoung, who shakes his head with a laugh, saying it’s nothing. He grimaces at Jackson for calling out like that and Hannah turns back. She is awkward with them, mostly because she doesn’t often talk to any member of their group and because of the history between Maria and Yugyeom. But mostly, because Hannah feels awkward around people. A staff member tells them they can follow her upstairs, and they finally start moving. Hannah glances to her side when someone gets up next to her, just to see Jinyoung lean in to talk to her. “I watched the trailer to your movie,” he says and gives her a smile, and a thumbs up. “It seems really good, The Visitor.” “You think?” Hannah asks, smiling because this is a topic she can talk about. “I’m nervous about it because it’s my first movie, and I’ve got the lead. But the reactions online seem positive.” “Yeah,” Jinyoung nods. They walk slowly up the stairs to keep talking. “But it seems good, I look forward to see it. You’re an assassin or something in it? There was a lot of action.” She moves her tongue in to hold back her first thought to respond to him and looks over her shoulder with a smile when telling him to watch it. She won’t spoil anything. “You’re not spoiling anything by saying what the movie is about,” he chuckles. “You got no idea how nervous I’ve been promoting with 5 Pieces and being asked about the movie,” Hannah laughs with him, explaining; “I signed a contract to not give away any spoilers and I’m so nervous about it that I barely dare to talk about it.” They part ways when going to their seats. Hannah gets to sit with Julia and Ana.N, and Taemin will later sit with them as well. Hannah turns around to see where GOT7 went to sit, her eyes scanning from the far right to behind her before turning her head to look on the left side. There she spots him and with a few seconds of trying to figure out how to keep talking to him with this distance, he spots her and leaves his seat. Jinyoung is walking with his back bent to go up behind her, continuing to bend down to not be in the way for those sitting there. “What about you?” Hannah asks. “Are you on a project or preparing for anything?” “You mean acting project?” he asks and is quite quick to shake his head when she confirms that is what she is asking. “GOT7 got a tour and work, so I’m not doing anything in 2018 or right now. But I’ve gotten scripts, so we’ll see if I’ll squeeze something in somewhere. Are you doing anything more after The Visitor?” Hannah shakes her head. “Only 5 Pieces stuff for 2018.” “Yes, I’ve heard how much you’ve longed to work together again. Are you back into fighting mode yet?” They chat away a bit. Hannah has never talked much to Jinyoung, but they have acting in common and just this time it was easy to talk to him. He hurries back to his seat and Hannah gets to look around at the arena they are sitting in. Fans are everywhere, their attention focused on where the artists are sitting and cheering to their favourite. Automatically when the crowd cheers at EXO’s entrance, Hannah claps her hands before realising what she is doing and she hugs her hands between her knees and smiling embarrassedly at Julia on her side. “What?” she asks, not paying attention to why Hannah is embarrassed all of a sudden. “I clapped my hands when the fans cheered,” Hannah giggles. Julia leans her head to the side with a laugh, and a second later moves closer to Hannah to give space to Heizie when she comes over to sit by them. Everyone’s gathered, the show is about to start, and Hannah is laughing for having Julia next to her and the fact that everyone is talking too much. Only when the opening performance begins does it quiet down, and Ana even hushes at Julia to stop chattering and instead focus on the performance and the show. Actor Song Joongi is hosting the show, opening up after the performance, welcoming everyone to Mnet Asian Music Awards at its final night in Hong Kong. For a second when he says that, Julia turns to Hannah and asks if there have been more nights in Hong Kong. Hannah says it is because they are having a MAMA Week, with the show taking place in Japan and Vietnam earlier this week. “I feel stupid not remembering it when I talked about it backstage earlier,” Julia sighs, shaking her head before smiling, leaning in closer to Hannah. “Next year we must sit here with the other ladies. We haven’t attended MAMA since 2014.” “It’s been that long?” Julia nods, not understanding how long it’s been either since 5 Pieces attended award shows together. Soon enough, Taemin is on the stage to perform with Sunmi. Hannah sits in a daze through most of their performance, smiling when seeing many people imitating Sunmi’s [Gashina] choreography and then she moves a bit with Taemin’s [Move]. Julia is having a blast, moving around in her seat to the songs and for each of the award she is mumbling things for herself when the nominees are mentioned. The Musketeers’ are nominated for best music video, but the winner is BTS. The ladies stand up among the rest of the artists to congratulate the winner when they are announced. When BTS are done saying their thank you speech, Hannah is getting nervous for her performance. She puts a hand to her stomach and leans towards Julia, saying she is starting to feel sick because she is nervous. “You’re always a nerve-wreck before a performance,” Julia smiles at her. “I’m really nervous,” Hannah forces out of her and takes a deep breath. “Turn it into excitement.” Julia is calm, she is just happy to be at an award show and in her mind, she is thinking of how big 5 Pieces’ performances will be next year when they are celebrating 10 years and will make their album comeback and whatnot. Her head is up in the clouds though she is more present than Hannah at the moment. Hannah is starting to think through how she is doing her performance, both her solo and the one with the Musketeers. After another performance, the handsome actors Jisoo and Nam Joohyuk comes out to present the next award – best collaboration. When hearing them talk, Hannah pats Julia on the leg and says the Musketeers is nominated in this category as well. They are nominated in many categories. Taemin came to take his seat during the previous performance, taking a few deep breaths and catching up between Ana and Julia. The nominees are shown and Taemin is having a blast when figuring out that Baekhyun is in one song, Chen is in one song and Kai is in another. what are the chances that a member of EXO will get the award? Hannah guesses on IU’s collaboration song and Ana looks hurt when saying the Musketeers must win because they are the best. “Congratulations, the Musketeers,” Jisoo announces. Everyone is quick to get on their feet and Hannah feels slow when joining them. Then she is reminded of how it was last year when winning and after getting congratulated by Julia, Hannah gets up to Taemin to tell him take the front. She is the “leader” of the Musketeers’ but she has not prepared anything. It has been a lot going through her head that saying a thank-you speech has not hit her at all. Ana automatically takes the front while Taemin is hugging on to Kai, walking together with Hannah behind them. She is smiling, waving to the loud cheering crowd and happy she is not walking first among them. Who would she thank? Who would she mention? Thankfully, Ana accepts the award before turning around to see if she is alone or not, and steps to one of the microphones as to begin while she is thinking of what to say and hoping Taemin will hurry over to help her out. The trio steps to the microphones first, starting the speech and Hannah takes a step to the side to bow to the two presenters before getting next to Kai, holding her hands together as she doesn’t know what to do with them. Taemin and Ana does well, thanking the agency, managers, staff, producers, the large fanbase and so on. Hannah just nods along, glancing at them and giggling when Kai is doing exactly like her. The stage goes dark when they are done talking and Kai almost stumbles on Hannah’s foot when he is in a hurry to go back to his seat. They are giggling when getting to their seats, walking together and Ana asking if she should sit with the trophy or if she is supposed to go backstage with it. “Throw it to the audience,” Taemin jokes. Hannah turns around to make sure Ana doesn’t actually do it and says they can put it on the floor by their seats until they are heading backstage. They sit back down, and Hannah can’t stop smiling. Last year, the Musketeers won the same award. It’s the second year they win Best Collaboration. Hannah is waiting to hear the nominees when all of a sudden the winner is announced. It happens so quickly when the camera turns to Julia that their whole line just starts laughing, as if they paid no attention at all while in fact they were waiting for the nominees, not going directly to the winner. Hannah hurries up on her feet and claps her hands and Julia is laughing behind her hand, hitting Hannah on the arm embarrassedly but still manages to head out on her own. She mentions them by name and Hannah can’t stop smiling because of how cute Julia is and from imagining their stylists backstage watching this. Soon enough, Hannah heads backstage. It is time to prepare for her solo performance of [Just Like Fire]. She is shaking her hand heading over to get changed and she is completely hypnotized while others are touching her to get her ready. They have time, there is no worries, but once she is changed she can relax a bit and just wait. For her solo performance, Hannah is doing a different version of [Just Like Fire]. SM Entertainment suggested she will collaborate with an 18-year old pianist from Beijing, since he had uploaded a piano version of the song on YouTube that is good. Hannah calls her performance a ballad musical, since they will do some acting on stage and the song is changed into a ballad. It will be a different vibe and end with a blast. She is nervous if fans will like this version or if they expect to hear the original version where they can sing along. The dress is a golden sparkling sling with a slit evening dress. It is gorgeous, fitting at the top and moves freely at the hip down. Perfect for her stage, though Hannah isn’t much for bare shoulders.
