Hannah has been awake since early in the morning, barely getting any sleep because of 5 Pieces’ promotions the night before and they woke up early to pre-record their performance for Music Core. For the past few hours, Hannah has been at the concert hall for INSPIRED – Jonghyun’s solo concert. The D-Day is finally here and while she is there to support her husband and enjoy a great concert, Hannah has also been rehearsing for her duet with him on stage. Right now, she is sitting backstage before the concert. Jonghyun is getting his makeup done and Hannah is sitting in the back, chilling in the sofa. No, seriously, that is exactly what she is doing; she is sitting tailor in her sweatpants and concert hoodie and spacing out without anything in her hands. The room is moving, people are going in and out, stylists are getting the star ready, Jonghyun’s mother and his sister Sodam are both coming in and out as well. His mother constantly leaves the room to go chat with others or to go check on the food. According to Sodam, she is nervous and can’t sit still. Then she comes back inside the room to dote upon the way only a mother can. While his mother can’t be still, Sodam is sitting next to Hannah in the sofa. They have been reading comments of excitements from Jonghyun’s fans that are outside waiting for the concert and they have been stalking celebrities on Instagram. But for the last few minutes, Hannah has quietly been spacing out by herself. Jonghyun’s manager comes inside the room to ask about a few things they have prepared, wanting it confirmed with Jonghyun before the manager can continue his round. Jonghyun mumbles in response, busy being still for his makeup artist. “Hannah, are you sleeping?” Jonghyun’s manager asks when seeing her spacing out. Jonghyun glances through the mirror and then up at his manager, who though speaks politely to Hannah doesn’t use the same honorifics he uses with Jonghyun – because Jonghyun’s manager is the same age as Hannah and she told him to speak comfortably with her. Hannah blinks and looks up at the manager, taking a few seconds to react before she says she is not sleeping. “You can sleep for half an hour if you want,” Jonghyun mentions for her. “No, I’m good, thanks,” Hannah answers and stretches her hands up into the air. “I’m just nervous.” He smiles at her comment, glad she is nervous even though Jonghyun’s manager says she is a professional and should be used to this. Hannah grimaces in response. She knows she is used to being on the stage, that is not what makes her nervous – though she always gets nervous before getting on stage. She likes it, knowing it means she wants to go on the stage and that it means something for her. But for tonight, she will go on stage as Jonghyun’s wife and 5 Pieces’ Hannah, and besides, they will perform a new song for fans for the very first time. She must do well. To ease the mood and busy their thoughts from the concert, they start to play music in the room. Jonghyun has set his own playlist, playing from his phone to the small speaker on the table. A mix of Korean and American songs are playing and he seems focused to find a different song after listening a minute to one, constantly changing the song. Sodam leaves the room with her mother to go to the bathroom and a second later, Hannah gets on her feet. She is waiting for her turn to get her makeup done, her hair as well. She leans her against the makeup table, standing next to where Jonghyun is sitting while checking her phone and talking to him. One of his backup dancers comes inside too, talking for a bit before a good song comes on and he starts to dance. Hannah blames the music for joining him, putting her phone down on the table and getting up to move. Not dancing nicely, just moving around for a bit. Jonghyun is smiling at them, asking if they are the mood setters for this concert. The dancer wildly says he is in charge of the mood. “Second after your wife, of course,” he adds with a smile at Hannah who scoffs in response. Still, they continue to dance to the song. Some are by the doors, either smiling at the silliness or not being bothered. It’s like a pre-party for two. Jonghyun dances where he is sitting until his makeup stylist asks him to be still. Soon he changes the song, another one they can dance to, and he picks up a phone from the table. Hannah’s phone. He sits there with an amused expression, filming the mirror that reflects Hannah with her silly dance. She spots that he is filming and points at it before dancing back and forth behind his head. Hannah has gotten ready too, with hair and makeup and putting on the golden dress she wore at the award show recently. In the video Jonghyun had uploaded on her Instagram, fans are sending a lot of love to have Hannah show support to her husband while being busy with promotions. At the same time, some are complaining. The complains are about Hannah’s outfits, asking how she can wear sweats at her husband’s concert and a few other comments on the complaints that she can wear whatever she wants. Hannah doesn’t bother, knowing she wore sweats to be ready for the change of clothes, since she will perform. One fan asks why Jonghyun isn’t updating his own Instagram and again, it is another fan who answers by writing Jonghyun has probably forgotten his password again. Hannah is standing close to the stage while waiting for her turn to go up. She was told she can wait in the room, but she has a better view from here. Though it takes almost one and a half hour of the concert before Hannah is getting ready to get on stage. She has been sitting on the side, admiring the performances from the dark side. The song comes to an end and Hannah is ready on the side while the stage grows dark and Jonghyun is quick to change his jacket to a golden one – to match Hannah’s outfit. The music begins to play for [Bound to you] and Jonghyun starts to sing in a soft, nice voice. Hannah almost closes her eyes to listen to his voice better, but knowing she has to make her appearance she instead takes a deep breath and waits for her cue. As his verse reaches its final words, Hannah slowly starts to walk out on the stage. She begins to sing, a spotlight on her to make her presence known for the audience and there is a low sound of excitement raising though fans quiet down to listen to their song. An emotional love song, about being in chains, being bound to the one you love. Hannah keeps her eyes on Jonghyun when stepping up next to him, to sing the song together. She is focused on her voice, to not make a mistake while thinking this is his stage. His concert with his fans. She needs to do well. The audience is quiet, their lightsticks are visible and her heart is pounding in her chest. Jonghyun looks away from her first, looking out at the audience while she finishes the chorus on her own. Hannah looks out too, worried of how fans will react. She is certain they will love the song but worries they won’t like her. As if she interferes with her husband’s song and concert. Looking out at the stadium, she can’t tell if they enjoy it or not. She lowers her head when continuing with the next verse, looking up when he fills in at a few words. She likes it though. She likes the song, the lyrics, the melody, his voice, the way he looks at her. She likes it a lot. it feels like they are singing the song for half an hour. She keeps looking at him, as if they are alone in the stadium, confessing how in love they are. His verse starts coming to an end, eyes stuck on each other again and Jonghyun gets a small smile on his lips and his eyes are glimmering in the light. Hannah holds up the microphone, preparing to sing the chorus again, in a higher tone. It’s more magical than he expected it to be. The light on Hannah’s dress, her eyes continuing to search for his, how his fans are listening intensely. It is the first time they are performing this song, it is the first time fans are hearing it. He knows they will love it, he is certain of it. Because he is singing it with the woman he loves, the woman he is married to. Shawol knows how important she is to him and even though fans doesn’t know how hard they have worked on this song, both the lyrics and the vocals, he knows they will like the result they are presenting in this moment. He turns his head to look out at Shawol again, hearing Hannah singing her heart out for the second chorus. Woah, Jonghyun thinks while looking at his ocean of fans, this moment is perfect. With harmony, they sing together at the final. Their voices melt into each other, powerful and emotional. They finish the song together, harmonizing until the last tone and Hannah is already breaking out into a smile. The crowd starts cheering loudly, screaming and Jonghyun wraps his arms around Hannah for a bear hug. She laughs, patting him on the back. A VCR will start to play so they both head off the stage once it has gotten dark. Jonghyun holds her hand tightly to go to the side together, then he pecks the back of her hand when turning to face her. “Thank you,” he says, though he is in a hurry. Hannah gives him a cute look before wishing him luck for the rest of the concert. Jonghyun gets a change of clothes to get back on stage, while Hannah can relax and get out of this dress. She is relieved. The fans seemed to have liked it and the staff backstage are congratulating her and giving out sounds to show how impressed they are. Hannah keeps looking at the screen in the room backstage, getting to see the concert while changing her clothes, getting back into her sweats and the concert hoodie. They did well. It was fun. She is smiling since she now has finished the first out of two concerts, and this was as good as it could get, is what she thinks. She stands outside his dressing-room in the corridor when the concert ends, standing ready for him to come. A few others are also there, most of them waiting in the room to cheer and congratulate for a successful concert. Close to the stage, the dancers are lined up to cheer and applaud first, for their hard work and finishing the concert together. Jonghyun makes his way through. He is applauding back at them, giving high-fives and cheering brightly. He thanks the staff too and starts making his way to the dressing-room, still cheering and bowing to the staff he mee
