“Are you done?” Hannah asks, putting her phone and wallet in the pocket of her beige hoodie. She smiles when Jonghyun comes inside the hall, wearing a grey hoodie. Couple outfit. Both sweaters have the letters H-J on them, widely next to each other at the front. Jonghyun is wearing black jeans and Hannah is wearing black leggings, coupling it up now when they finally are going to the seafood restaurant. “I’m done,” he says when putting his feet into his shoes. Hannah reaches for the door to leave but he tells her to wait. Turning around she sees that Jonghyun takes out his phone and stands in front of the mirror. He reaches his hand out to pull in her sleeve to stand next to him. “A quick photo,” he says. Since Jonghyun has the hood up over his cap, Hannah pulls her own hood up as well, grimacing for the mirror picture he takes. He takes the picture and leans in to kiss her head, mumbling that he is ready to leave. The sun is still bright outside, though blocked from the tall buildings so there is a lot of shade in the city when the couple drives to the restaurant. Jonghyun is in charge of driving. He sings along to every song on the radio. Hannah sings along to a few. She is mostly busy on her phone, checking Instagram and confirming tomorrow’s flight to Japan. The song [Bound to you] that Jonghyun showed her days ago has still not been recorded. They have talked about it several of times, all from how he has worked on it to how they now want to record it. Hannah must practice vocally first. It’s probably the most challenged song she has done so far, or one of them, but Jonghyun says he knows she can do it so they practiced it during the week a few times when just lazing around at home after work. They talk about it now too when they are at the restaurant. Music, acting, the weekend they will spend in Japan for SMTOWN’s concert, the couple outfits that they joked about to wear but actually will wear, are some topics they talk about during the dinner. And food, they talk about the seafood, comparing to other places, what they like the most, and Jonghyun reaches for food on Hannah’s plate several of times. Another thing they talk about is Instagram. It has been a hot topic for Hannah this week because ever since she uploaded a short video of herself and Jonghyun enjoying BoA’s performance (last weekend), fans have requested more. The couple that talk about each other on radio and in interviews but try to keep it professional by avoiding sharing pictures together as much as possible, are talking about changing that. “I said it already last year, you know that,” Jonghyun says, leaning over the food he is eating. “We’re married, whether they accept it or not. I haven’t received much hate about it in a while, you know. And besides, it’s our social media, not theirs. If they don’t like what we post, then they shouldn’t look at it, right? You think too much of others, Nabi.” He makes the food look delicious – well, the food is delicious, but he makes it look yummier. Hannah nods, agreeing with him but she still pouts about it. “On set they said pretty much the same thing,” she reveals. “Let’s do like this,” Jonghyun says when coming up with an idea and he puts down his chopsticks to pick up his phone. “The picture I took earlier, if I upload it, we can see the comments and from that decide whether we should do it or not?” “If your fans like or dislike the picture?” Hannah wonders. Jonghyun nods. He starts to upload the picture but Hannah ends up moving to stand next to him and help him with filter and what to write to the picture. {Instagram, Jonghyun: thanks for the couple hoodies} Then they sit for ten minutes reading the comments that floods in, fifty comments within ten minutes. The issue then is to sort out what comments are positive and what comments are negative. Jonghyun says it is all positive, that comments such as ‘so cute’, ‘adorable’, emoticons and even ‘ya’ are positive comments. Key writes a comment too, writing ‘couple goals for fools, kkk’. Hannah comments too, writing only ‘kkkk’ (which is like laughing in Korean language), doing it because Key writes it.   In the morning, it is time to go to Japan for SMTOWN’s concert. Hannah is wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with white details on the sleeves. It is long enough to be worn with leggings. She has a bag on her arm, a part of her hair up in a bun to keep it out of her face and she is in an extremely good mood. Though she is going on the same flight as the members of SHINee, she does take her own car with her own crew so when Hannah eventually reaches the airport, fans are waiting for members of 5 Pieces, SHINee and Red Velvet. It’s insanely a lot of people there, just to see them off. “Have fun in Osaka!” a fan calls out to her. Hannah answers with a wave, hurrying indoors with a smile on her face. She has put on makeup already, just light makeup because she was simply said in a good mood when waking up and instead of hiding at the airport as she tends to do, she wants to go without sunglasses, a cap and mask covering herself. “You’re beautiful, Hannah!” “Love your hair!” With the help of security and Manager Lee guiding her they head to the check-in. Behind them it is still a mess of fans calling out her name and being told to back away for other flyers to get through, but fans that usually are at the airport in Korea are well-behaved. Mostly. Like today. They do as they are told even though they can’t keep their voices down, but they do move to the side. While standing in line, Hannah ends up standing the wrong way because she is watching the fans. It is weird when she recognizes a few faces, maybe three of them she recognizes as they tend to show up for events and at airports with their incredible cameras to take pictures for fansites. Two of them are hers, the third she recognizes is for Julia. Emelia went to Osaka yesterday already, her fansites aren’t here today. “Where’s your passport?” Manager Lee asks, glancing at her hands where she is holding her phone but no pass. Hannah puts her hand in her bag, simply picking it out as she knew where it was. Showing that she has it, Manager Lee feels a bit at ease. It wasn’t even for a minute, the fans gets louder in the background and when Hannah is about to turn around, someone jumps up on her back for a hug. seeing Julia’s profile face next to her, Hannah burst out laughing. The just arrived lady is in a huge smile too. “How can you be all black dressed in his hot weather?” Julia laughs when getting on her feet. She smiles when greeting Manager Lee and the bodyguard. Julia is in the opposite kind of outfit from Hannah. With a loose white shirt messily tugged inside a pair of long shorts (men style) in the same material as the shirt but with dark stripes, Julia is rocking the stylish and expensive Gucci brand. Black meet white. The ladies smile at each other’s opposites outfits and gladly stand next to each other, talking about how Julia was working hard all week to promote her single and pre-record Music Core and Inkigayo for these few days in Japan. “They seem happy too,” Julia says in Swedish and looks over at the fans. They cheer at the attention and Hannah turns around too, waving happily. Julia smiles. “I wonder how many fans have left Puzzle by the time we have our comeback. It’s been too long, don’t you think?” “Hey,” Hannah grimaces and pushes her friend’s arm. Julia keeps smiling though. “It’s a joke. As many fans as there are during my solo promotions, we still have it. The fire,” she says and moves her fingers in talk about the fire and they both laugh. After passing the check-in, Hannah is walking with her arm hugging on to Julia’s. Rather than doing it to feel secure (the reason she usually holds on to someone at airports) it is because she has missed her friend. Whenever they meet, she feels it. And since Julia mentioned 5 Pieces a few minutes ago, Hannah feels like she misses them a bit more. She wants to be on stage with 5 Pieces as soon as possible. Julia tells her about what fans are writing about her online, amused as she was checking comments in the van when heading here. fans are calling her the ultimate summer crush, that someone had written ‘she thinks so warmly of everyone’ by a fan’s story from a signing. Julia loves to read about herself online, to see fans write their impressions of her and read comments from fans about things she has said or done. Like at the signing, when a fan had asked Julia to try the perfume she was gifted with, Julia had said she will try it later because someone at the signing might have an allergy – therefore, ‘she thinks warmly of everyone’. “Mending broken hearts and melting frozen parts.” Julia smiles when Hannah starts laughing loudly at her words and when Hannah keeps laughing, Julia starts to laugh as well. The white-dressed lady hits Hannah on the arm for laughing so much but they both can’t stop. “Melting frozen parts,” Hannah says and laughs even more. Manager Lee is trying to hold back his laughter too. They are standing by the side of the gate, waiting to get on the plane and since the two ladies are leaning on each other in laughter, their staff are having a hard time keeping straight faces too. Hannah can’t stop smiling even when they have calmed down from laughter, and Julia shows some pictures to Manager Lee of gifts she has received during her solo promotions. From a distance, she can see a tall Minho make his appearance closing in to the gate. Onew is walking next to him, neither spotting the ladies over by the wall but they both look that direction when Jonghyun is running past. Julia almost drops her phone when Jonghyun in between her and Manager Lee, just to reach Hannah. he almost bumps into Hannah, the front of his cap hits her forehead and he is having the most adorable puppy smile. “Found you,” he whispers. He had texted her to ask where she is, as he knew she would reach the airport before him. Hannah didn’t see the text yet so she has no idea of what he is talking about. Either way, she puts her arms around his waist for a hug. Minho and Onew also comes over, politely yet friendly greeting the staff. The second Minho gives Julia a smile under the white mask, Hannah is reminded of what she was told last week. These two have had ! It’s a voice screaming that in her head and Hannah is almost gaping at the two friends before her. Jonghyun distracts her with by giving her a peck on the neck, smiling guilty when moving to stand next to her, his arm still around her. she gives him a glance before turning her eyes back to Julia and Minho. They look as natural as always. Julia is telling them what she was telling Manager Lee, showing off the gifts she had received. Hannah doesn’t know how they do it, how they can act as if they haven’t done anything. The couple look; Jonghyun is wearing the same kind of long-sleeve shirt as Hannah. It is the most discrete couple look because they are just dressed in black both of them, but it is at the same time their style. Key and Taemin show up with their managers as well, and a few minutes later it is time to board the flight. Hannah and Julia get to sit next to each other on the flight, both looking around to see where SHINee ends up sitting. Key is sitting right in front of them, Taemin and Jonghyun are sitting at the front and the others are quite scattered on the plane. The two ladies are chatting away on the flight. Even if Julia tries to get some sleep, she keeps talking to Hannah, talking to Key too when he turns around to join their conversations. Hannah knows she is going to spend this weekend looking at Julia and Minho, because she doesn’t notice anything unusual about them. They are acting the same friendly way as usually, which Julia is with the other members of SHINee as well so it makes it hard for Hannah to think they actually have done anything. Not that she can ask Julia straight up ‘how come you act so natural’. SMTOWN is gathered in Osaka for the concert. Rehearsals are almost ending but the late arrivals head on stage for a quick go-through. After rehearsals, while there still is some time before the concert is starting, Hannah is somehow managing to sit tailor in the chair while getting her makeup done. One leg resting on the armrest as the chair isn’t big enough for her to spread both legs out. Her eyes are closed though it is her lips that Chae Hwan is working on, feeling relaxed and comfortable though the surrounding is quite noisy. The room is large, filled with staff and backup dancers for the three ladies. Those that aren’t getting ready for the concert are resting, they are talking and playing games, not everyone is in the room either as it is a stadium filled with colleagues and friends. Julia is dancing around in the room. She isn’t fully ready for the concert yet but has had a blast walking around to the other rooms, chatting and greeting all the other artists and staff. She is moving around to music that was played in SNSD’s room, singing along to it from her head and checking her phone. “Emelia, did you see JjongHan’s couple look?” Julia chuckles and steps over to the rapper to show the picture. Hannah opens her eyes, looking through the mirror as she is curious what she is showing. “This one is today.” “Ah, today? They are just dressed in black,” Emelia says. “No-no, see?” Julia says. Julia comes over to show it to Hannah too; fans have put together Hannah’s and Jonghyun’s individual airport pictures to show that they are actually wearing a couple look. Hannah smiles widely at the picture and Emelia chuckles from the back, saying the picture from yesterday was really cute. “I told you we were given a lot of couple items,” Hannah says, laughing and turning her head around. Chae Hwan pauses her work. “It’s fun that fans send gifts like this under both of our names, because up until recently it was sent to us individually… You get what I mean?” “Yeah, yeah.” Emelia nods. “But you’re married so its cuter if its sent to both of you,” Julia smiles too. “And that look suits you both,” Emelia adds. Chae Hwan giggles, saying she had the same thought. A black long-sleeve shirt, something that Jonghyun mostly wears but something that suits Hannah as well. It would be different if it was a colourful tank top or something similar to that. Hannah turns back when Chae Hwan touches her arm and the lady closes her eyes anew while it is still her lips getting painted. Julia starts singing to another song, playing around behind Hannah. What Hannah doesn’t know is that Julia is filming on Instagram just shortly, moving her phone in front of Hannah to capture the relaxing lady with Julia fooling around behind her and some of their crew are laughing at how energetic Julia is. Hannah ends up laughing too, feeling it with her eyes closed. It takes many minutes before Hannah sees what Julia uploaded on Instagram. She has uploaded a picture with some members of EXO as well, but it is the silly video that makes Hannah burst out laughing. Hannah is getting her hair done for the concert when checking Instagram, deciding that she has to get her revenge somehow. But while Hannah is stuck getting her hair done, Julia is getting her makeup done. And when Hannah’s hair is done, Julia’s makeup is done so Hannah doesn’t get her revenge then. She keeps missing the opportunity, and then gives up on it by instead go hang out with friends. Lucky her, she shares her idea of revenge with Yeri from Red Velvet and quickly has someone to help her out. Meaning, when Yeri spots Julia in the corridor later, she runs up to Hannah to say now is a good chance. Since Hannah always misses the opportunity (not just today but whenever she wants to joke around or do something similar), having Yeri come grab her arm to help out is really nice. Since there is quite a lot of people in the wide corridor, a few staff members, some dancers and others passing by, Hannah and Yeri are in a mix of excitement and nervousness talking about what to do. It isn’t a big thing Hannah wants to do and Yeri has seen the video Julia took, but they are two babies wanting to fool around so their emotions are a bit all over the place. Yeri gets to hold Hannah’s phone, starting to film. Hannah turns around, their eyes meet and Yeri says she is filming, moving her hand for Hannah to hurry up. the film captures Yeri trying to whisper what they are doing, saying Hannah is now hunting, laughing as she is filming Hannah sneak up behind Julia. Julia is talking to some others, completely unaware of that Hannah sneaks up behind her and starts to move around. She doesn’t sing, she tries to not even breath, but dances and grimaces behind Julia that the dancers Julia are talking to starts to laugh and before Julia turns around, Hannah runs back to Yeri. Julia looks confused, as all she saw was Hannah running away. The two girls fall to the ground from laughing, more embarrassed than feeling they did a good job and Yeri says she is crying because Hannah was so funny. Julia asks what they are doing but they are laughing too much. One of the dancers explains what Hannah was doing but no one understands why. Julia doesn’t get it either so they just let it pass. Hannah and Yeri are a mess though, busy laughing and they crawl to sit by the wall to see the video and laugh even more when seeing the result. Wendy walks past them with the strangest face-expression and soon members of NCT are walking by the laughing duo, in confusion bowing when passing by and asking what is going on but basically, everyone walking by are giving them weird expressions. Even later, just by telling others what they did, they laugh. When meeting backstage after Red Velvet’s performance, Hannah and Yeri laughs just seeing each other. Hannah uploaded the video on Instagram. It was more of a fun video than a successful revenge, but they had fun making it and those watching it are commenting it is hilarious as well. Turns out that Hannah is having the weirdest day. Backstage, she keeps making faces. When taking a picture with a staff member, she makes a funny face. But that is because they are fooling around when taking the picture, it doesn’t explain why she keeps dancing around after her dancers and going with the flow when others are dancing around or teasing one another. The thought of keeping an eye on Julia and Minho is hard because she doesn’t see them next to each other at all. Not even at the ending stage does Minho and Julia interact with each other. Instead, it is the three ladies sticking next to each other for most of the time. Hannah wanders off with Taemin for a bit as well, and again they act weirdly by doing the weirdest dance. She saw him and Kai do it earlier and when Taemin tells her to do it with him, she does it without hesitation. The other ladies are going to record the next day, but since she is filming the movie, they have put in her recording in Osaka for a few hours before the concert. After the concert when many of the artists are going out to eat, Hannah says goodbye to them and goes around giving a polite bow yet friendly waves with her hands. She is heading back to Korea right away, ending up having to run at the airport to not miss the flight. On Monday morning, Hannah is sitting in the van outside the set for The Visitor. She is writing a birthday message to Carolina on her phone, knowing that Carolina is sleeping now but sending it before she starts working. With her hair put up in a bun and dressed in black jeans (ripped by her knees) and a dark hoodie, Hannah has been styled for her character in the movie. It’s hot. She is going to wear a leather jacket to this outfit later, and rather than slippers like she has in the van now she will wear boots when they start filming. Sitting there with her phone, Hannah feels bored and tired. After sending the text, she looks at the script in her lap and then back at her phone. Someone starts to crazily bang on the van’s window at the other side of the car, giving her a fright and makes her almost scream at the top of her lungs. But since she isn’t fully awake yet, no sound comes out of her. “NUNA!” a bright Kyungho cheers, way too happy this morning with his palms pressed against the window and trying to see through the tinted glass. Hannah leans over the seat to open the door. “Are you mad? I almost had a heart-attack!” she angrily scolds her little brother but Kyungho just smiles innocently. “Nuna, good morning,” he says, looking fully excited. She grimaces at how happy and bright he is. “Mm, morning,” she mumbles and sits back in her seat, putting away the bag from the empty seat in case he wants to come inside. “Why are you early?” “Nuna, don’t you know? I have summer vacation,” he brightly says and gives himself a cheer for doing well at school up until now. “That’s exactly why I’m asking,” Hannah says with a smile at her little brother. “You have summer and there are hours left before your first scene. You should be at home sleeping now.” Kyungho stays standing outside the van, looking restless when telling her he is too excited. Since he has been focused on finishing school for the past weeks, he has been looking forward to come on set and film for the movie that everyone have been working on for months. He has come in for a few scenes before but he is going to spend his summer vacation filming the movie. Since they made the filming schedule to make it work with everyone’s other schedules (like Ji Chang Wook filming his drama, Hannah working with the Musketeers and Kyungho going to school). Now when it is summer vacation for Kyungho and Chang Wook ended his drama filming last week, the two of them are on set today to work on the movie. That’s why, when Manager Lee comes to the van, he brings Hannah and Kyungho with him inside to greet everyone. A new week and a new morning, people asking each other of their weekend and what to do today. Hannah is nervous when seeing Ji Chang Wook, the handsome actor she admires. She wonders if Jonghyun will get jealous if she writes to him that Ji Chang Wook is going to be shirtless for a scene. Just the thought makes her snicker for herself. They are going through the week’s schedule at the morning meeting before going to the set prepared in the studio to go through the scenes. The set looks like an apartment. They have prepared a corridor with doors as if it is in an apartment complex as well as the inside of one apartment. The apartment is amazingly detailed, messy and perfect for Ji Chang Wook’s character. Before going through the scene, Chang Wook is walking around in the apartment, looking at how extremely messy it is with a few clothes, empty beer cans EVERYWHERE, magazines are lying around and so on. Exactly how it is supposed to show what a mess he is living in, he takes it in to get into character. They go through the scene where Hannah is supposed to come in through the door and complain about the smell and tell him to shower. Hannah gets into character too while they are going over the scene. Though she is still in slippers and not wearing the leather jacket, she does as she is instructed when pretending to shove stuff aside with her feet to get through the apartment, going to do it for real during the actual filming. Still, working with Chang Wook is amazing. She has admired him for a while and seeing him work, just how natural his acting is. though his character is lazy and messy, seeing him getting into character makes it hard to look away from him. Going from smiling and talking politely he just drops it to get all tired and bored. She doesn’t know it but she is the same. from the shy lady who politely follows the others she changes her whole posture when they start doing the scene, her tone is different and the way she looks at Chang Wook is in character as well. They practice the scene for real one time before going to film. Hannah puts on her shoes, Chang Wook takes off his shirt. He ruffles his hair to look messy and Hannah puts on the leather jacket. “It’s hot,” she comments a few seconds after putting it on, but she smiles at a staff member who chuckles at her comment. The studio isn’t that hot though, the air-condition keeps it cool since there is a lot of people and movement in here during the day. “I think it’s cold,” Chang Wook comments with his arms held around himself and Hannah laughs as they are each other’s opposites for the shoot. The mood on set is good, making it easy to joke and smile. Hannah goes over to stand by the door where the scene will start, and like said, the mood is good; she hears a simple joke from a distance and starts laughing with the staff. Kyungho doesn’t have a scene now but he is still on set. While you could believe in his words that he would be bored at home, Hannah thinks it is because he admires Chang Wook. Hannah admires him too, so it feels like Kyungho is at the moment getting to admire the male actor for them both since Hannah has to be in character. They do the scene countless of times, making tiny changes until they are satisfied and then repeat it from different angles. When checking the footage to see if it is alright, Hannah tries to focus on herself while she honestly is impressed with how messy Chang Wook comes off to be on camera. While he in fact is smiling next to her. The director is as thrilled as he
