*2 weeks earlier*

Kyungsoo stared at the text message in his phone for god know how long. He was filled with confusion. Utter confusion. Today was their anniversary. And when Jongin told him to come to a place which he would text him later, he was definitely not expecting it to be at the their apartment's rooftop.

The message simply said to come to there at 4 pm sharp.

It might have been more than an hour,he didn't know.  He just sat on the couch in their living room, staring at nothing particular with teary eyes. He was just spacing out,really. What was he to do now that things were going to end soon? Did he have to move out? Would he be okay? He probably would move on but not in a short time.What would Jongin give as a reason? Was he simply going to say he fell out of love? Kyungsoo hoped not. He didn't think he was ready for this

He was not prepared for this. Not at all.

Only when he look at the clock, he realized it was already 3:30. He stood up slowly sighing deeply. He had to get ready now.

He came back to his apartment from his work on time. He was always eager to get home that the people at the work had started teasing him. But he didn't mind them. They were right after all. He was eager to go back to his love. His real home was not the apartment he shared with him. It was where Kyungsoo was.

He chuckled at his cheesy thought. And Jongin couldn't believe it. He was living with his love of his life. A person who he was willing to take their relationship to the next level. And today was their movie night. He couldn't be happier. Everything was going according to his plan. His proposal plan.

They were now watching a seemingly popular romantic film, with Kyungsoo snuggled against him cozily. Jongin's hand played with the other's hair strands softly. The movie was now showing a scene where a male lead was going to propose a female lead in an amusement park which he rented wholly just for her with such romantic light decorations, fireworks and all.

Jongin smiled secretly,in pride,because he was about to do something similar very soon. Then he heard Kyungsoo scoffed from his side. He looked down, surprised, with a smile on his face too.

"What's wrong?" he asked staring at his boyfriend's ridiculed face. Kyungsoo scoffed again.

"I mean don't you find it ridiculous? It's like he's showing off his wealth rather than his love." Jongin's hands went cold. He ervously his lips.

"Oh..... you don't---- you don't find it romantic?" Kyungsoo chuckled softly looking up at Jongin.

"It's just I feel like a special occasion like an anniversary should be more...intimate? I think celebrating it somewhere you have a fond memory together would be more romantic than renting some places like that as a whole. I find it as a show off actually" Kyungsoo replied thoughtfully with a small smile,totally not aware of Jongin breaking out into cold sweat because his plan was going down.

Kyungsoo's words had made things really difficult because Jongin had to redo it all. And he blamed it all on himself. Jongin should have known better. Kyungsoo was never the one to fall for extravagant showing off stuff. He was always content with little things and that was one of the reasons why he fell for the older in the first place. But he just wanted to give more to Kyungsoo.

So he basically rented a whole Michelin 3 star rated restaurant,where they frequently went, for their anniversary dinner and as a place where Jongin was going to propose to Kyungsoo.

Yep. He was finally going to do it. Moreover the problem did not end there. There was a delay about the ring. Jongin wanted to make customised rings for them because he wants it to be special. But the process was complicated and it was taking longer than necessary. So without him knowing himself  his attention was all diverted towards his phone with him typing all the time and making phone calls. Worse,now that the location was changed too. He had to discuss with the planning team as to how he wanted the decorations to be and all.

And with repeated apologies, he managed to cancel the reservation at the restaurant too. Last problem was choosing the location again. Thr right location this time.
He thought about celebrating heir anniversary at the park where he confessed to Kyungsoo for the first time in ther uni years. As first thought, it might not be a good idea since good intentions were not in Jongin's mind when he confessed to Kyungsoo there then. However, he wanted to promise the older that despite their bad start, he would like to cherish him the rest of his life and make up for all his wrong-doings by retelling the precious 3 words but with such utter sincerety this time.

The idea had him squealing in his chair but what destroyed his dreams later was the information about the park not opening at the late hours. He could do it in the broad day light but he knew his boyfriend was not the one to enjoy all attention on him.

After going through so many locations in his head,that it gave him headaches  ,Jongin had come down with one last choice. The rooftop of their apartment.

He wasn't really satisfied with that but with the date coming near and all,he just gotta make it perfect there. And he also remembered that the first time he was truly going to confess and give couple rings was at the rooftop too.

Luckily,he didn't have to plan all these alone. His secretary, Seulgi had helped him out alot. And in exchange, he had helped her out with someone too and now she was happily in a relationship which he totally did not see it coming. But well, love could happen anywhere in any ways.

"I think Kyungsoo hyung might know now" He voiced out his worries as he sighed deeply,leaning back on the chair as thoughts of his boyfriend guessing his surprise filled his mind.

"What? I thought we are being very discrete!" Seulgi's eyes widened as she exclaimed. His secretary was putting all her effots in planning this and as she claimed,being an event planner had been once her career goal.

"I know! He can't find out! He definitely cannot find out about us!" Jongin complained like a kid,putting his face in between his face.

"Maybe you are just overthinking?" She suggested and he glanced at him,still wearing a frown.

"I mean I have been texting back and forth with that planning company and phone calls too,like alot and I know Kyungsoo might take them the wrong way....." Seulgi couldn't help but sigh along too.

"I just want everything to be perfect. For him." Jongin muttered.

Silence was overwhelming on the dinner table at that night. Jongin kept worrying that he wouldn't get the customized rings on time and that could not happen. And he could also see that something was occupying the older's mind too,who was just staring down at his plate rather than eating it. And when he suddenly remembered what the receptionist on his floor told him, that Kyungsoo visited his office yet went back quickly without meeting him, he tried to ask Kyungsoo. And the answer of his about "something came up at work",did not really convince him and as much as he tried to ask more about it later, Kyungsoo just insisted everything was fine.

It was around 11 or 11:30 pm when his phone lit up in the dark bedroom,as a sign that the a call was coming in since he muted it. He groaned softly and rubbed his eyes before checking the caller ID. Jongin felt confused when he saw it was Seulgi. He turned to his side to check if Kyungsoo was sleeping and he was. Jongin just had to smile at the sight before leaning in quietly to kiss his boyfriend's head before getting up from the bed.

"Why are you calling at this hour? Something wrong?" He asked softly after locking himself in the bathroom,which was outside of their room. If he used the one inside, the older might still overhear their conversation.

"I got the rings!!!!" Jongin tried so hard not to scream. Finally. He thought,everything was sailing very well now. "Well,I mean I will literally get it tomorrow morning but still!!"

"Oh my god!! Seulgi,you have no idea how much I love you!!" He couldn't help but exclaim.

"Okay. That is very weird." She replied on the line and Jongin could imagine her disgusted face at his sudden words.

"Sorry. I am just too happy!!! Anyway, how did you--how did you get it?!" Jongin asked.

"Uhhhh" she suddenly sounded hesitated. "Joo Hyu----Irene helped out too actually. Never mind that!! You finally got them!!" He couldn't help but smirk at Seulgi's sudden shy voice and how she tried to change the subject.

"On the real name basic now huh??" He couldn't help but . That couple was really amusing.

"BYE" With that, she suddenly hung up and Jongin felt extremly so damn happy. 

He went back to bed, scooping closer to Kyungsoo and wrapped his arms around him tightly.

And Jongin fell asleep with a smile on his face.
