A few days later, Jin was waiting by the gates of the high school holding a single red rose. He had a surprise for Jimin and couldn't wait to see the look on the younger's face when he received it. Hearing the chatter of students coming out of the building, Jin looked up with a smile as he hid the rose behind his back. His expression brightened even more when he saw Jimin walking out with Jungkook and Taehyung, the latter had the other two laughing with something he was saying. Jimin looked up and spotted Jin first, his already happy face beaming as he ran towards the older.
 

Jimin threw his arms around Jin's waist and snuggled into his chest, the older chuckled as he hugged back with one arm. When Jimin pulled away, his eyes widened in surprise when Jin handed him the rose and placed a kiss on his cheek. The younger took it and a shy smile appeared on his face as he looked up at Jin.
 

"T-Thank you, Jin hyung." said Jimin.
 

"Aww~" cooed Taehyung as he came up beside Jimin and slung an arm around his shoulders.
 

"What's the occasion for this?" asked Jungkook as he came up on Jimin's other side and lightly flicked one of the red petals.
 

"Hey." protested Jimin, giving the maknae a glare as he held the rose cloe to his chest.
 

"I don't need an occasion to give my boyfriend gifts." replied Jin with a smile and a shrug, Taehyung 'aw'ed' again while Jungkook just rolled his eyes.
 

"If you two don't mind, I'm going to be borrowing Jimin for the rest of the afternoon." said Jin cheerfully as he reached out to take Jimin's hand in his.
 

"We don't mind at all." said Taehyung just as cheerfully as he gave his friend a light push forward.
 

"Borrow him for the rest of the week." said Jungkook with a little grin, receiving a glare from Jimin.
 

Jin just laughed and after saying their goodbyes, the two were walking hand in hand in the opposite direction from Taehyung and Jungkook.
 

"Where are we going, Jin hyung?" asked a curious Jimin as he raised the rose to his lips, smiling at the sweet fragrance.
 

"I was thinking about you the other day..." started Jin, making Jimin's smile grow a bit, "And I realized that we don't actually go out on proper dates, we just hang out at either my place or yours." he said with a furrow of his brows.
 

"I don't mind that we don't go out to places, I'm happy just spending time with you." said Jimin sincerely.
 

"I am, too." assured Jin with a small smile before his expression turned a little troubled, "But I sometimes feel that you might get bored of always doing the same things and you'll... you know, find someone better. More exciting." he admitted.
 

Jimin stopped walking, making Jin stop as well, and lightly tapped the rose to the older's nose.
 

"Someone better than you, Jin hyung?" questioned Jimin with a raised eyebrow, "There's no one out there better than you and even if there was, I wouldn't go to them. Why? Because I love you like crazy and I will never, ever let you go." the younger then thought about what he just said and smiled sheepishly at Jin.
 

"I, uh... kind of got carried away there." he said with a shy laugh while trying to hide his whole face with that single red rose.
 

Jin was touched by Jimin's words and found his behavior right now really cute, so he chuckled and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend in an appreciative hug. He felt Jimin's arm go around his waist and smiled when younger snuggled into his chest.
 

"And anyway, I don't think there's anyone out there who can give cuddles like you do." added Jimin, making the older chuckle.
 

"Oh, so you only like me for the cuddles I give you?" asked Jin jokingly as he leaned in and playfully nuzzled Jimin's neck, making the latter burst into a fit of giggles.
 

"Huh?" prompted Jin as he raised his head and tickled the younger's side instead.
 

Jimin started laughing as he tried getting free, but just ended up turning around in Jin's arms so he now had his back against the older's chest. Jin stopped his tickle attack and let out a happy sigh as he just let his arms hug Jimin from behind and nuzzled his boyfriend's hair.
 

"I'll never get bored of the things we do, Jin hyung." said Jimin with a smile, then turned his head to look up at the older, "So, where are we going for our date?" he asked.
 

"It's a surprise." replied Jin, chuckling when the younger pouted.
 

"Can't you give me just a little hint?" asked Jimin.
 

"No." drawled Jin as he leaned in and lightly butted his forehead against his boyfriend's.
 

He then pulled away and took Jimin's hand in his once more before they started walking again. Jimin looked around to see if he could try to guess where they could be going, but all he saw were the familiar streets he and Jin used to walk when they were kids. His curiosity started growing even more when an old park came into view, the same park they would spend countless hours playing in. The same park where Jin would scare off the bigger kids that would try to pick on Jimin. The same park where Jimin knew he liked Jin as more than a friend.
 

This was their secret place which the others didn't know about, Jin and Jimin never really felt the need to tell them about it. The park was still open to the public, but not many people came by. As they stepped into the park, which was smaller than the others, Jimin felt a wave of nostalgia go through him as he looked at the slide with the now chipped paint, the rusting swings, and the discolored monkey bars.
 

"Remember when you would ask me to lift you up onto those bars?" asked Jin with a smile, he had seen the younger eyeing them.
 

"I had to practically beg you." said Jimin with a laugh as he let go of Jin's hand and walked over.
 

"You were like, what, six or seven? Your fingers were really little, so I didn't want you to slip and get hurt." said Jin somewhat defensively as he also walked over.
 

"But I never did." said Jimin with a grin, he handed the rose over for Jin to hold while taking off his book bag before giving a jump and effortlessly gripped onto a bar.
 

Jin saw how Jimin started doing pull ups with little to no strain and it just blew his mind how much time has passed since then. Before, Jin was like Jimin's shadow in this park since the younger loved doing reckless things.
 

"Do you still jump off of the swings mid-air?" asked Jin with a light shudder; oh, how he hated when Jimin would give him good scares with that.
 

"Sometimes." replied Jimin a little breathlessly, he stopped his pull ups and just hung there for a second as he looked at the older, "When I met Taehyung in middle school, we started doing competitions to see who could reach the farthest." he said while grinning.
 

"You and Taehyung were the reason I always ran out of band-aids." said Jin with a roll of his eyes, "I also got the blame for both of your disruptive behaviors." he added with a grimace.
