24 December 2016 (Saturday), 3 p.m.

The others have left the dorm to spend Christmas with their respective families, leaving me to entertain myself. I decided to go ice fishing in Gapyeong. I've always wanted to do this, but I never had the time to do so. I'm also looking forward to watching the sunset before ending this fishing trip.

Fishing was something I used to do often with my dad, back in Malaysia. However, I've never been able to catch a single fish in my whole life. At first, I thought it was funny. Even my dad laughed, but I was determined to catch one today. I wanted to see how far I've grown since then. Will I still be a cursed child that was destined to never catch a fish in his life? As dramatic as it is, that was the best description to show my lifetime of progress in fishing.

Currently, my focus was on the fishing line I placed in the water through a hole in the ice I made. I made sure to remain quiet in hopes that I wouldn't scare any fish away. That's why I felt disappointed when my phone suddenly began ringing. I took it out of my pocket and answered the call.

 

Jinho : Hello?

Mina : Jinho, do you have plans tonight?

Jinho : Hmm... maybe. Why?

Mina : Some of us are having a small Christmas party together for those that are not able to visit their families. We're also inviting friends. I was wondering if you want to join us?

Jinho : You're not visiting your family?

Mina : I'm not, but I'd love it if you could accompany me during the party.

 

That would mean I have to cancel this fishing trip. I was a little sad about it, but I was happy to hear that Mina wants to spend time with me tonight.

 

Jinho : Okay. I'll go. Where is it?

Mina : It's a surprise! I'll come over to your dorm in a van around... 6.30 p.m.? You just need to follow me. Please dress nicely for the party.

Jinho : No problem. I should buy presents for you girls then.

Mina : You just need to buy one! We'll be having a 'Secret Santa' event.

Jinho : I see... Okay! See you later.

Mina : See you later!

 

We ended the call. Hearing her say "See you later!" got me excited.

I immediately began packing up my things. I have to rush if I'm to get back to change clothes and buy a present before Mina arrives.

 

24 December 2016 (Saturday), 7 p.m.

 

Mina : I'm very sorry, Jinho. Your members told me not to tell you everything because you wouldn't come if I did. I just didn't want you to be alone.

 

It was not a small party. I got scared as I arrived at JYP Entertainment's Christmas party. Almost everyone here are artists and staff members of the company. The others were their friends or family members. Even Mina's parents were here. I seriously felt like I didn't belong here.

I was wearing a green sweater and black tight jeans. Along with my hair color, I was certainly attracting attention when I arrived here with Mina. She was wearing a white sweater with red stripes and a grey circle skirt.

 

Jinho : Mina, I can't be here. You shouldn't have done this.

Mina : Please stay, Jinho. Talk with the people here. I need to attend to my parents right now.

 

She took my hand and brought me towards Got7's leader, JB.

 

Mina : Oppa, can you talk with Jinho for a bit?

JB : Sure. No problem.

 

Mina took the wrapped present I was holding and placed it with the other gifts before attending to her parents. Now I'm stuck with JB, who I've never actually talked to.

 

JB : Hello. My name is JB. You can also call me Jaebum if you want.

Jinho : Hello, Jaebum-ssi. I'm De1's leader, Jinho. It's nice to finally meet you.

JB : It's nice to finally meet you too. I've heard a bit about you from Jackson. Are you younger than me?

Jinho : Yes, I'm a 95-liner.

JB : I see. So, is this your first time in JYP?

Jinho : It is. Mina tricked me to come here. It's a long story.

 

I was about to explain myself to him when suddenly, someone I didn't expect came to me and JB.

 

Jinho : Oh! Hello, sir.

Park Jinyoung : Hello. Are you Jaebum's friend?

Jinho : My name is Jinho, leader of De1. TWICE's Mina invited me. She's just busy right now so I'm talking to Jaebum-ssi.

 

Park Jinyoung laughed a little when I mentioned TWICE when mentioning Mina.

Park Jinyoung : Ah I see... I hear the company has been doing well. Good job!

Jinho : They went back to their families for Christmas.
